Want more Speed in your Golf Swing? Make this one change!

In this golf lesson video, I'm going to show you one change to a concept in his golf swing that helped this player's club head speed by 6 miles an hour in one session. The main piece of technology I used in this golf lesson is my Smart2Move force plates. You can measure forces with just your eyes, you need some technology.

For this golfer, we started with setup. This was a golfer that tended to set up a lot in their heels. I see a lot of golfers do this because they are trying to prevent thrusting toward the golf ball in the downswing. The problem is, that setting up in the heels doesn't give us anywhere to go in the backswing and also doesn't help us maximize our forces.
After this discussion, I had him go through a simple drill where we found the middle between his toes and his heels, and we landed on the pads or the balls of his feet. From there, we went through some testing between him trying to jump as high as he can and trying to jump as fast as he can to see what could produce more force. Like I see with so many golfers, the cue of trying to jump as fast as we can generates more force. With this understanding, we took it to his golf swing, and we had fantastic results!

Poor fella won't break 150 swinging like that. This force plate stuff being taught now has absolutely nothing to do with trying to help an amateur hit a golf ball. Unless he scoring himself on golf course by writing down his avg mph on each hole than his amount of shots? Bet he might be able to dunk thou if he sticks at it.
