Want to Overclock and Fan control A GPU for NVIDIA and AMD use LACT

coolercontrol can already control nvidia card fan speeds if you run lm-sensors 'sensor-detect' and pick up the fan controllers. Its got a more feature rich fan control setup as well, with hysteresis, basing thermals off whatever sensor you want, flat / curve/ mixed fan speed profiles etc. The OC / power limit stuff is cool.

@just89 I've tried cooler control...but nothing, it seems, works for manual fan control in Manjaro. Any ideas ?

The power usage limit would be similar to what you'd see in MSI Afterburner on Windows (except there it's a %). People usually bump this up to help the gpu clock stay closer to what they specify (so they might reach 3300Mhz instead of 3100Mhz). Lowering the gpu vcore voltage plays a role on this too (though, you don't seem to have it). Clicking Advanced enables me to change the minimum core clock & minimum VRAM clock speed for my Sapphire Radeon RX 7900XTX amd gpu.

The thing with LACT, is that it's currently stopping me from using my old fan curve I used with MSI Afterburner on Windows. However, once Zero RPM can be switched off under Linux for my AMD GPU, then I *should* be able to use my entire fan curve. I'd prefer the gpu fans to be active at all times, especially since I have an NVMe right under it. Why should the NVMe right under it reach 50°c on idle because of the gpu fans not turning on until 60°c.

@@belvederebaileycambodia I don't support Manjaro or gaurda due to nothing being a hacky broken bloated mess. It does work well on cachyos and endeavor and pikaos 4
