Remember- Pomodoro only works with discipline. If you don’t have discipline, the very first 5 min break will become 50 minutes. Otherwise - it’s brilliant. You’ll study for longer without even realising it or feeling tired. For those saying that exam is 3 hours - well - this meant for days whe we tend to procrastinate - much before exams. In the month leading upto exam - like I said - the fear /excitement is enough to drive almost anyone to study for longer. Also, even in exams - I have used Pomodoro. After 1 hour - or after finishing on section - it’s always necessary to take 2-3 min pause. Take a deep breath. Relax for a bit. We all do it subconsciously during exams.

pandemic took a toll on me when it came to studies, i simply could not sit and study anymore, until i came across pomodoro technique. i personally use 50min sessions followed by 10min until im done for the day. my marks started going up and i felt very confident in my studies. pomodoro really works if you take breaks and study in the time efficiently and honestly. if your break is up, you have to get back to your work no matter what happens.

As much glorious as it might seem studying continously for long hours, it may or may not be effective , it depends so it IS important for us to realize what works for us. and it's so so true that discipline is really important . Trust me when u study like this you can study long hours and you will never forget in ur lifetime... whatever doctor said in the video is 100 percent true and even i used it...i study 1 and half hours straight non stop with 15 minutes break and i countinue like this for 10 hours max...it is highly effective and what i understand in 3 days is reduced to 10 hours ☺️..

As per psychology it says that if you are given something to memorize or learn you will mostly remember the first and the last bits more than the middle bits.so to increase the memory power you make smaller chunks and take tiny breaks thus increasing the amount of 1st and last bits. I don't know whether this makes sense but at Uni we were taught about this not to study continuously for longer hours

What he said about procrastination and the ability we all possess to study for long hours is true. If we can study for long hours during exam period then we should be able to do the same on regular days too. Also the Pomodero method might be useful to some but not all. There is no universal answer to every question. A method like pomodero is useful for only those who have high concentration to begin with. As for me, as soon as I will get a break and so something, my concentration will get break and then I won't be able to study....Once my concentration breaks or when I go to study, it at least takes me around 15-20 minutes to gain concentration and actually able to understand what I am studying. Pomodero is a method that is not for me and for many more too. The best way is for one to discover their true nature and act according to it.

I struggle with 2 things in using POMODORO. I would be grateful if you could share your thoughts on this - 1) After 30 mins of studying, when the alarm goes off, I am tempted to continue reading. I feel that the paragraph/chapter/topic is left incomplete. So I end up studying beyond 30 mins. 2) The breaks seem too small to do anything rewarding. 5 mins is too less. And even after 3 hours, 30 mins seems too less as a 'reward'.
@princepoddar2840

Buddy. You don't need to do exact 30 min , one session of pomodoro should stop when you start to lose focus and then take a break of 1/5th of the time you studied . For me if i have to do a boring work like watching lectures then i do 30 min but if i have to do revision of a chapter or questions then i do pomodoro of 45-50 min . Hope it helps

Hi brother. I don't claim to be an expert in the use of the Pomodoro technique but the only way in which your problem can be resolved is through discipline and repetition. The Pomodoro technique or any other technique for that matter is not a magic wand that can solve all your study problems effortlessly. Instead, it plays a vital role in bringing structure and order to your studying. one tip will be to do the exact same thing during the 4- minute break time. For instance, if you prefer to listen to a song, then listen to the exact same song during your break time. If performed repeatedly, this will also start acting as a cue to your brain and every single time you listen to that song, you will feel like getting back to your studies. Hope this helps.

Gobsmacking and highly enlightening!! It's high time our schools start focusing on training the students in these aspects of life because with the advent of online education, it's very easy to find syllabus orientated material everywhere. What is required is training to build a formidable work ethic and discipline. This is where schools will have to play a crucial role in the 21st century. Thank you for enlightening us.

After getting 2 gold medals in diploma and degree in mechanical engineering i too myself used to study a lot. Iam in a good paying job 23 year wanted to join upsc cs but now everything changed i cant focus my habits are ruined. I remember when friends asked me how you study like this i used to tell them that there is no secret even i wonder about my friends how they watch web series and all when solid mechanics or vibration is subjects. Now i know why i was like that cause it was my discipline towards my goal or the urge to get the appreciation in family gatherings😊😊

Hello Dr., I'm currently studying in grade 12, preparing for NEET. I've been scoring pathetic marks in chemistry for the longest time now. This is really messing up my head and I sometimes just don't feel motivated or that "kick" per se. Do you have any advice on this...

This technique is good But for me the 30 min pomodoro doesn't work well Rather extended pomodoro works Where each block is about 1 hour atmost And yes as Adithya ji said Breaks par bhi breaks honeeiin chahiye That's very true

And then This block can be increased slowly by following The 21 DAY RULE increase length of block by 15 min And boom 💥 more productivity
