My family and I had booked umrah for April and I was so excited watching your vlog! But unfortunately we can’t go anymore due to the coronavirus 😔. Insha’allah we get another chance to go soon and all those reading this get to as well 🙏🏼xx

InshaAllah you and your family will get the same reward as having done Umrah. There is a Hadith which explains that if you don’t carry out the action but intended it, you are rewarded for your intention.!

I used to be quite religious, but I am now nowhere as religious as I used to be, in fact most people would consider me as not religious. This video started playing as a loop and instead of switching it to another one I continued listening because your voice is so beautiful. You've now given me Dawah and made me try and relook at getting back in touch with the Deen and have inspired something within me to want to do Umrah. I think it's because you are so down to earth and straighforward, nothing gimmicky at all and genuine useful advice. Thank you Annam, I hope Allah SWT protects you from evil, continues to bless you and keeps you grounded and steadfast in your faith. Thank you once again 💗

For the water bottle tip its better to bring one that folds up. That way it fits under the coolers to fill up so you dont have to use the plastic cup to fill up the big bottle.

With the scarf stuff, I used jilbabs (those long pre stitched scarves sometimes with sleeves) they're super comfortable and in the heat if you have sleeved jilbabs you can wear something sleeveless underneath and you're still covered but I'd still wear an underscarf just so your hair doesn't move too much. Normal pin up scarves are good too but I just found a jilbab way more convenient and you can use them later when you pray at home or need a scarf when you're out to pray in.

A common misconception is “everything in Makkah and Madina is halal.” This is completely untrue. In fact when asked, some workers actually do confirm that the food they serve is haraam so it’s always better to ask them. Their meat can come from places like Brazil which means it isn’t slaughtered in the correct Islamic manner. I assume they’ll be completely honest with you but they probably won’t tell you unless you ask them. Just to clarify, it isn’t ALL fast food places that are haraam just some of them so always ask the people that work there.

I have been to Saudi 5 times for Umrah and Hajj. My two sisters (both don't wear hijab) came with me for Umrah on 3 separate occasions before you have uploaded this video and basically done the same thing as you in terms of tips on what to wear and bring but it is important that you have highlighted this in your video. We did stay in Madinah Hilton twice and yes it is a bit old fashioned but the breakfast is decent and good views of Masjid An-Nabawi from the restaurant. In Makkah, we did stay in Swissotel and Movenpick in the Makkah Clock Tower and also Intercontinental Makkah (which is the closest hotel to the Masjid). I agree that Makkah has a lot of fast food joints but there are many places that serve Pakistani food if you go to some of the smaller streets. An-Noor shopping mall in Madinah is nice but I'm not into shopping malls.

Omg, Annam I cant believe it, We went on umrah just in January. And we also found out about the Biryani house restaurant, because my dad was looking for a Pakistani place to have food from. so random. And my friends stayed at the Hilton Suites as well, which was soooo nice, We stayed at the Marriot which was really good as well. what are the odds of us doing the same stuff? lollll. AND OMG THAT shopping centre that's attached to the Hilton suites, is superb convenient, theres even a sephora there. lol.

and for anyone planning to go soon, I WOULD highly recommend booking a Really good hotel, because in medina we booked a random one and the bathrooms in them were disgusting, like the ones in Pak, as well as the bedrooms, they had dirt and they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in decades, But later we decided to change to Marriot which was reasonably more comfortable. So plz if u got the money plz get a good hotel. Thanks.

Only when visiting the grave of the Prophet (saw) are you allowed to give Salam directly to him. On the regular day to day basis, it is bid'ah to direct it at him by saying "Salam Alayka" as he isn't in front of you.
