Japan's robotic industry is incredible! I always look forward to hearing about their advances in the industry! I feel like Asimo will be such a great help for the elderly for example helping them carry items and help them around their homes etc.

SilkyC it could be a great help for people with illnesses too, medicine reminder, 911 call, possibly monitor vital signs or when it's more programmed, it could keep someone company, hold a conversation.

I think I saw that one too. After the US president took a trip to visit ASIMO, I thought it wasn't enough info on this awesome Japanese tech! He said it was "kind of scary" which isn't exactly good PR for Honda. Haha! time.com/75642/obama-japan-robot-asimo/

I'll suggest to Honda to do more dancing or chances for fun interaction with ASIMO. Thank you for that feedback! Hope you could enjoy the show despite that and had a fun time in Tokyo. -Johnn

I think he'll break down racing with me. maybe you should cover g-cans/ryukyukan too in kasukabe & make them have english friendly tour(despite not necessarily to speak English). It was pretty hard finding a japanese speaking friend to come with. Btw, asimo was a fun show since i missed one when he was in my country few years ago. Even my friend from machida never knew about honda welcome plaza until i brought him along. Maybe I'll try the your trip on the sleeper train next time to see the square sun in Hokkaido.

Amit Kumar yes they are accepting of robotics, they have robots working in factories, they have synthetic androids being worked on to do basic jobs, asimo styled robots will be going to space in the future, they build working walking Mecha like in anime, and a club that uses robots extensively, so yeah they are pretty ok with robots.
