Good rant! I completely agree that the trend towards super-sizing games is getting out of hand. Even if you have the space to play them, being unable to see small print across a big table makes the gameplay experience unnecessarily difficult. And Perspectives is brilliant!

Yes, a lot of games are getting harder to fit on our table, and I know many have smaller tables, so I do not know how they make it work :P

If it can't be played on a standard size bridge table we don't buy it (or any sprawling expansions- I'm looking at you Everdell.)

Would love to get a top 5 roll and write, flip and write genre games. I'm intrigued on what the top 5 could be... I agree I love the older get on board version even with the negative points for following the route vs getting points for following someone's route

Bora Bora is fantastic! I am happy that Queen is trying to change the games as well, but this one wasn't better for me. Vienna was a lot better than La Isla f.ex!

Aw, sorry you guys culled Age of Comics. Absolutely my favorite worker placement game and getting in my 10th play tonight (and adding in the War comics expansion which is, as seen in the rest of the game, super thematic) to start crossing off my 10x10 checkboxes for the year (with play #2 happening on Saturday).

Uau I think Age of Comics is the only game with a sleeve I would actually like to have. That looks great! The game, I have no idea. I still need to try it. And Mille Fiori! "This series has been going strong for a while" ahahah I still remember the original goal was to play all the games in the collection in one year 😂

The Artemis Odyssey should be follow up to the Artemis Project - one of the most underrated games ever, super super awesome game that plays up to 5 players with great gameplay. I would be glad to try The Artemis Odyssey. Sometimes great games are not acknowledged enough, but people like something like Wingspan or Cascadia, duh :D

I was super lucky to find Bora Bora in a game shop in a mall on a trip to Canada last year. It's hard to find in the UK. Then on a trip to New Zealand I saw there was a game shop next door to our hotel in Auckland. They had a new copy of Oracle of Delphi which I also struggled to find. I'm wondering which out of print Field I'll find on my next trip away.

I like the looks, absolutely, but I also never disliked the looks of Bora Bora. The size is my biggest issue, and I am unsure how well I like the new god cards.

Really hoping to love Age of Comics, but fully agreed that it's a cull. The theme and artwork is super cool, but there was nothing tight, crunchy, urgent or compelling about the game. Every time we tested/played it, every player ended up super evenly matched. There was just no tension at all. An interesting attempt in terms of mechanisms, but without more competition for actions and other ways to mitigate your actions being "stolen" there is just no excitement to what you're doing.

The issue w Mille Fiori is that it does not scape well depending on number of players. In a four player game, whoever is the first player in the first round, will benefit the most.

I love Age of Comics, but that's also due to bias as I used to work as a book editor and the game did a really good job of depicting what the comic publishing industry used to look like. There are definitely better worker placement games, but I've got a soft spot for this one. 😊

Yeah, I can't say I'm the biggest fan overall of worker placement games, but this one immediately became my favorite. The artwork, the theme, the presentation, it all just clicked for me. I've finally realized that no matter how great a game is, if I don't care about the theme then I just don't care about the game, and growing up on comic books this one just fits for me. Between this and Lords of Waterdeep, I think I'm good on worker placement from here on out.

I enjoy and view the majority of your videos. I have been in the gaming community for over 40 years. Where do you cull most of your games ? I am not looking to sell mine as much as to just give them to anyone so they don’t just disposed. library, school or gaming store??? Your opinion would be very much appreciated.😊

I am just wondering what you do with your culled games? Where is their final destination?

For those of us who are metric-impaired and think in inches and feet instead of centimeters, 120cm x 200cm equals 4ft x 6.5ft. That is a BIG table. I plan to build my own gaming table and my biggest initial question is: "How big should I make it?" I don't want to keep building tables until I get it right so this is very important. Do you guys ever feel like your table is too big for some games? How often do you wish it was larger or smaller? What kinds of games does it work best/worst for? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I love our table! It's big, but usually not too big. All gaming tables with a soft playing surface is not the best for any games where you write on paper, but other than that, I love it for everything!

It is for me. And also by having more games it clarifies what we want to have. I went overboard near the beginning and have tapered off purchasing and upped giving away. Bc now we know what we really enjoy and will actually play.

Absolutely! Also culling newer games is way, way easier than culling older games. The longer a game has been on the shelf, the harder it is to get rid of. Newer games, games we only have played a couple of times and so on are so much easier. We also have to be pretty hard on what we keep, because of space. The fact that we seldom replay older games because of the channel also makes us look even harder at what games we actually want to play again some time in the future.

I am a bit surprised at your reaction to Weimar as I expected it to be much better. Capstone Games, by and large, are usually excellent. I chose not to back it mostly due to the price of the game, and with your comments and thoughts, I am glad I did not.

Queen games' decisions with the Cities line are atrocious. Overpriced versions for zero reason, without the components to back up that price. Most people who did back them (that I've seen) go "It's good but I'll keep the original" except for Marrakesh, which everyone admits it's great but I won't accept the rubbish Essential edition or paying 120-130 Euros for the Deluxe (which is not deluxe, it's the minimum for other games like Terra Mystica etc with wooden pieces). I was excited to try out of print awesome games of old and they put out this mess of a line. I'm super disappointed.

I don't have strong feelings about publishers normally but Queen Games annoy me. They really aren't doing justice to Feld games at all. Bad productions that are really expensive, the worst combination.

I don't think the production is bad at all, and I have liked many Queen Games games. I do think that we'll probably keep to the brand new releases from now on in the City lline!
