I am playing this game with the exact same settings as you @Wolfpack345. It is August 24, and I have managed to destroy dozens of destroyers, some transports, 14 heavy cruisers, all 4 ships in the Kongo class, both Yamato and Musashi, Ryujo, Shokaku, and Hiyo. In exchange, I have only lost 3 heavy cruisers, 5 transports, and 12 destroyers. The total loss figure is 100 Japanese ship losses for 712931 tons for 20 American ship losses for 109527. The key to my success was the immediate purchase of USS Wasp. Next time always get a carrier immediately to counter the AI spamming heavy cruiser groups to get easy command points.

Carriers do make the campaign easier when you can launch 2 squadrons of 12 dive bombers and hit the same target twice. (Took about 7 sorties just to eliminate Musashi)

Good job sinking the sub. I don't know how many people I've seen dropping the depth charges too early. For the bombing, I'd suggest breaking the squadrons in smaller groups and manually controlling the drops. Loving the series.

level bombing is good for large targets, but for anything smaller then a battleship you need lower altitude for more accuracy

Don't forget the Brooklyn class CL, with FIFTEEN 6" (152mm) guns! And the St. Louis subclass (St. Louis & Helena) have their secondary 5"/38 cal. in four twin turrets, 2 per side. This class has more armor than other CLs, and some CAs!

Good Strategic round...I think the carrier is the boogy man. As you know that is the most powerful and longest range strike force...As Pearl Harbor already proved. Even Ghormley understood that by now. Otherwise good decisions. The outlier base, NW of Guadalcanal is another good idea, if you have supply to do it. I would opt for the base closest to Guadalcanal for quicker dive bomber support ... and longer distance from potential attack from those long range Betty's. As always..enjoyable. Thanks.

I put a level 5 airfield and 3 port on rennel and it was the best use of supply I ever did I took Guadalcanal after and put like 8 subs up through and around the slot and kept attacking the Japanese bases and drew them out and waited it out

I think it's pretty cheap that the anti-sub-encounters start before either the torps or the sub herself are spotted. That way the only benefit of a sub, the suprise, is gone because you can always just change course at the beginning of the encounter.

I know I am old to the show and videos here, but I have seen some videos where players seem to do better doing broadside attacks with the bombers and get more overall hits and also using different flying formation patterns with the planes I hope you experiment more with them in future episodes!? man the B-17 1000 lb bombs are not cheap they are very large bombs so a couple of hits would most definitely take out a battle ship regardless of the size. a forward air base closer to the slot would be nice, it just suck that it takes so long to get fuel and engineers. thanks for the videos makes dinner nice.

Stick with Rennell Island for now. It's defendable. Build it up. Don't over extend. You'll likely get hit hard and have to rebuild if you move northwards too soon without adequate air cover and enough surface units to hold off Japanese carrier groups.

I still think your best bet is to upgrade Rennell to level 3 air base & port. You will get the air cover you need and the ability to repair and rearm ships quickly

The Yamato may have "gone down quickly" but, 5 half-ton bombs would just punch their way through the decks. Mightiest battleship or not, that is some strategic bombing level damage, which it wasn't designed to handle.

Unless your assets are directly threatened, I think it's always better to go for the bigger target. That surface fleet can be easily out-maneuvered, especially at night. Instead, you could have probably sunk the carrier for 50CP, I believe. One CA gives about 20CP tops. Now that flat top might come for you on the next day, and good luck finding and attacking it again without a carrier on your own. Btw, the game never spawns more than one surface group (i.e. submarine or fleet) into a single tactical engagement. Only aircraft can spawn in several groups.

that aircraft carrier you found is a light aircraft carrier it can only operate a few aircraft maybe only 18 kates and 12 zero the reason it is like this is because modders put in the shokaku aircraft carrier model
