IMO You need to add a lip I carve a lot of plugs I have found the action is more important many times over how well the plug matches a minnow As I have walleye plugs that are purple and large mouth bass plugs that are Black over Pink or Orange These plugs catch fish , but are not painted to look like a minnow

Yeah that's the conclusion I came to as well. I considered adding a lip but I'd run the risk of messing up the paint. So I'll just chalk this up to a leanring experience and my mother has been asking for me to make some lures to display in our cabin. So I'll find a good place in there to put this one on the wall
