yeah, especially since the M-10 is probably the most heavily armored open top TD that exists. seriously it eats up anything short of a long barreled panzer 4 if you don't aim carefully, so i switch to HEAT or HE if i see one

42:25 Gaijin just recently confirmed the M10 is the slowest traverse of any ground vehicle. In one of their videos a comment asked for the slowest raverse and they said the M2 Medium and I think an early variant of the Pz IV. They said "[If we widen the scope the M10 is the slowest]"

The 50 cal on the M8 basically turns it into a backup/hybrid SPAA. If you just pop off a few well placed shots at a passing CAS and wait a minute, you'll get an air target or assist every time it is so criminal.

I always stood by the Sherman tanks even back when the T34s were bouncing everything back around the start of ground forces. I love every single one, even the M4A3 76 at 5.7 with it's upgraded engine and APCR. Often I find myself going on long kill streaks on all of them.

This is it, my absolute favorite selection of vehicles in the game. Stuarts and Shermans, supplemented by some unique vehicles like the Chaffee and Wolverine. They're some of the most fun, most consistent, and most versatile tanks to play in the entire game, and yet they still feel balanced and not at all overpowered. Other nations teach you to rely on their tanks' strengths around this tier. The German guns, the Russian armor, and the British mobility. The American lineups are the perfect middle ground and teach you to go into every situation prepared for anything, and how to counter it. Now if I can just get one of my favorite tanks in history, the 75mm M4A3, I'd be even happier.

I came back to rewatch this video and have to say this: The M4A3(105) is one of the most fun tanks in the game, hands down. I’m at 8.0 in the US ground tree, and I sometimes go back to 2.7 to play it. If you play cautiously, you can literally double ace or stay alive the whole game. It’s one of my most used vehicles, and I encourage every new and old player to use it. Definitely worth the money of a Talisman.

Honestly, the M10 really is just dependable, despite it's drawbacks. I ended up actually using it up to until I got the M36, as I really didn't like the M18 and opted to go back to the M10 for my TD slot. Same can be said for the Achilles in the British line up, there's just something about the vehicle that make it so dependable no matter the BR

My personal theory is it keeps you in check. The turret traverse reminds you not to push too hard and this lets you get good defensive or at least not rushing gameplay. Also, 76mm go brrr lol

for playing the 3.7 with 2 shermans and the chaffe lineup quite extensively, the most effective way to kill a KV-1 is to shoot its gun. You sometimes can mistake a KV-1 L11 with a KV-1 ZiS 5, that have 90mm of thickness instead of the 75mm on the L11. When 75mm flat is very much do able for the M3 gun, 90mm is usually a no go as even the slightest angle will get you out of the penetration range. I usually kill the gun (or just under it, the breech that is quite exposed on those things) and then rush it to shoot the driver port at point blank range. If the KV 1 is further away, well then the best you can do is generally hide your hull and your turret cheeks if you play the M4A1 and shoot the guns and tracks to allow your team mates with more powerful anti tank guns like the M10 or the Achilles to shoot him down. If you have the M4, you're generally immune to KV 1s at range anyway

one thing about the M10's gun. it is the M7 3 inch gun as opposed to the 76 AT guns from late war. The reason for this is its actually an artillery's cannon pressed into AT roll, hence it is heavy and required quite the counterweight. while 3" = 76mm, the later 76 guns were tanks guns first and formost, hence why this is the M7 3" and sherman's got the lighter M1 76mm.

Note that these tanks can change with updates, not visually, but in how they work. If I remember correctly, any tank made from America that had APBC (Or to me, APHEi (Armor Piercing High Explosive improved) had immediate access to their APBC round, which changed in the update "Wind of Change" to where all American made vehicles now have APC as their stock round, resulting in a painfully long grind to get a better shell. Some tanks may even get new shells to complement the old shells, for example the M5A1 Stuart now has a SAPHEI shell, which I believe replaced the HE shell, if it had one.

Also, the M8. For those of you who wish to use it, the way you can get around the issue of aiming the gun at range is using the sight ranger. It's a setting you use to bind the mouse wheel to in the ground vehicle options. You can engage and kill at 1km if you use that sight ranger to range the gun into the target. The only issue is it does take some getting used to. But if you already know the range, it is as simple and scrolling to said range and pulling the trigger.

Having dropped down from 8.7br to 2.7br, I'm finding my M4A3 (105) to be way too powerful. Surely it could stand going up to 3.0br. Unless that's just because I have an almost maxed-out crew that compensates a tiny bit for its dire turret rotation. And I can imagine it's the kind of tank that less experienced players might die fast in. For me, it plays (against its peers) like an even more survivable Jumbo. I like your pointing about keeping the gun roughly forward. The M3 Lee is such a charming tank - I love it. It looks like a rusty old diving machine.

I’ve played the M5 as my mainstay for years . I didn’t notice for a long time they moved it up from 2.3 that kinda pissed me off once i realized this. The HE she’ll actually came in use for me as there seems to be more open spgs now than when I first started playing. Example sneak up behind one those Japanese naval guns shoot the engine then lob a He shell into cab. Yes you could use your machine guns but that also will give your position away.

I've found with the M8 that you should lead with the 50 cal rather than the main gun unless you know it can't go through. If you slew round a corner and fire the .50 you can take out gunner and driver before finishing the enemy off with the 75mm if needed.

Unless they changed it in the past few days or something, it's worth noting that the M5A1 is 2.3 now. I have no clue why, it was really good at 2.7 but it is what it is. Also Gaijin literally forgot to change the BRs of the identical prem and TD stuarts so they're still 2.7.

I've kept the A-36 as CAS will in to 6.0 - 6.7 territory. It's just been working so well for me since I put it in that I've just kept it there in the same slot for each lineup. The 262s, 335s and occasional 229s don't worry me too much as I can catch them at their worst time; bombs are still bombs and the AA isn't radar assisted yet.

The reason the m3's 75 cannon has slightly lower pen is because the barrel is slightly shorter than a Chaffee or sherman. This was because armored corps or something didn't want the gun to stick out furthered then the most forward part of the tank ie the tracks. That funny looking muzzle brake also isn't a muzzle brake. It's a counterweight so the stabilizer can work correctly lol
