From what I've experienced so far, France and Italy are a mixed bag. France OWNS tier 1 air battles at the moment. No other country comes close to the French designs. Unfortunately, reaching tier 2 is like having the rug pulled out from under you. The planes just don't stack up with the ones from other countries. That's as far as I've gotten with France at the moment, so I can't comment on tier 3 or above. For Italy, they have some very good tier 1 and 2 planes. The problem is, there are so FEW Italian planes. You can't field really effective line-ups because you always have to take much lower BR planes to flesh out the roster. If Italy had additional models, or if the major BR gaps were filled out with some "loaner" German aircraft, then they would be much more enjoyable to play.

Exactly my point. Right now there are so FEW Italian planes to choose from. It leaves huge BR gaps and makes it hard to enjoy the planes that are out there. Gaijin needs to fill those gaps. Having a lineup with planes .7 - 1.0 BR difference or MORE in some cases, is not a recipe for fun.

Italian planes are great but there are too few of them, instead of adding new soviet unsuccessful ones Gaijin should consider adding more Italian planes that actually flew in battle. When you have every one of them, you spaded all the fighers and you refuse to fly Sparvieros (what a surprise right!), there is nothing to do really. French planes from Tier III onwards are honestly pretty bad. Only US KingCobra/Bearcats or Soviet Yak-9T or German NC900 (probably not) could be used reliably, things like Narval or VBs are pretty bad and grinding jets in VBs? Forget it unless you are grinding masochist. Should not be a surprise people not like those planes....try starting French tanks without buying Tier III premium... you will suffer a great deal with reserves/Tier I vehicles... the best one is probably that SPAA tractor, rest is horrible.

MiG-21F is possible! It had 2 30mms, FAB bombs and unguided rockets without missiles. MiG-21F-13 is also possible if they add missiles ;) it had two K-13 missiles (hence the designation F-13) and dropped on 30mm in exchange for them. Also FAB bombs and unguided rockets.

For me italian tree need more bombers and attackers to fill the gaps. Right now they have amazing fighters and more will arrive "soon" but more people would fly those planes od they had better planes to grind(i know that p.108b is just too good in grind but still it's a tier 4 bomber not even on 4.3) or a premium plane for golden eagels not bundle. Something like SM.84 or SM.89. About french tree it's balanced in fighter, bombers and attacker amount.

Speyde not built, not possible. Some of the Bf 109K prototypes would make cool tier 4 premiums though... like the one with the single 20mm gondola under the fuselage, the one with 3x30mm with 2 MK108s on the wings or the one with an MK103 instead of the MK108

The Testy Duck Ho-229 V2 was built and flown and the V3 we have in game was built but not flown. The only plane we have in game that wasn't built irl is the R2Y2. Bf 109 K14 wasn't finished, its DB 605L engines were destroyed in an air raid and it wouldn't be that good, it was heavier than the K4 and probably slower and less maneouverable below 3000m since the DB 605L was intended for high altitude use. So it didn't exist and it wasn't a big upgrade from the K4 except for the armament

the video accurately reflects the real and historical situation of aeronautics italy and france are 2 countries with a great tradition in the history of aeronautics, but also naval. Except that when I played warthunder, both France and Italy were caught up in game balancing and matchmaking to which they didn't belong and so sometimes the oldest French and Italian planes were placed in game contexts where the enemy planes were motoristically and most technologically advanced. therefore the players did not advance those factions. this happened when those factions were included in the game. Today I don't really know if the balancing and the matchmaking is still so unbalanced.

it's undertiered, like the g.91, and that is a temporay solution to keeping them from being spammed out. The f-84G should be 8.0, and the g.91 moved to 8.7, along with some other 9.0 jets being moved at that br as well. (Edit: don't tell me that a 1959 jet should fight 1948 jets, i mean the mig-17 was put into service 8 years earlyer, in 1951.)

the fact that APDS (mainly used by 4 certain nations, the other one barely at all) has a "surprising" additional slope calculator in the games code, which causes APDS to struggle from a 61° angle of impact to struggle insanely hard. this means the moment e.g. a T-62 angles the hull just a bit, any L7 APDS cant pen it anymore, even thought IRL they penetrated at ranges of 2km and more... ingame its almost impossible from more than 100m

I think the Italian planes are great because I started the game with the German factions got to rank 3 planes and with the Italians I'm already at rank 3 from when they first were released to everyone and I also had boarding school with War thunder being blocked so every chance I got I loaded the game played Italian planes and now I'm just short on silver lions but if I had the silver lions every time i would be just starting rank 4. In conclusion to those people who don't log on everyday the Italians are the quickest way to get to rank 5 (may vary a bit depending on your play style)

Please fix italian props repair cost in rb. The g55 serie 1 costs mire than 20k to repair and and g56 costs more than 30k, and it doesnt make sense that their repaur cost will be so much more than 9.0 jets or other props in their br.
