When I first got the PvKv II, I used to hate using it because it had no turret armour. Now when I look back at my vehicle records. The PvKv is my best performing tank, with the most kills, assist, and mission points. This tank is really good, only if you know how to use it. Truly a Swedish Tech tree vehicle

This TD actually carried me through that rank for Sweden. The Pvkv IV is just... awful. By the way, one trick someone told me that actually works, is if you have a bouncy gun, it will settle faster if you don't brake. Just let go of the W key and let your tank roll to a stop. The gun bounces way less. This is really noticeable on tanks with an oscillating turret.

You really have to play this tank, its the FV4202. A british medium tank that is very modern looking because it's actually an early protoype of the Chieftain. It has a 20pdr gun and its quite fun. (Day 51)

Eh, it really used to be better. Once upon a time, it and the rest of the 20-pounder British MBTs were 6.7 and the 84mm APDS could punch through the Upper Front of a King Tiger. They were pretty much the only thing keeping 6.7 Germany from being one of the strongest lineups in the game. But now it and the rest of its brothers face later cold war tanks on the regular, the gun is the worst of its peers compared to the American 90mm and Soviet 100mm, the armor won't save you from anything, and the British MBTs are the largest and particularly the slowest just to add salt to the wound. The only thing really "good" about it is the stabilizer, which doesn't help when your gun requires surgical accuracy just to do as much damage as the other guns.

This was one of my favorite tanks when I started with Sweden. This and the Sav.20.12.48 were absolute demons sometimes lol. Also the bad to the bone link played at 3:30 made me spit out my drink. Only way to make it better is to add the spinning skull gif to it lol.

I've just unlocked the Chi-To and Chi-to Late, and I think you'll absolutely love them. They have almost Russian angled pen on their Type 4 Koa round, it's very fun.

Japanese rounds are just amazing and low tier Japan is probably where I have the most fun (Chi-ha Long Gun my beloved). Tanks have no armor but their guns really compensate for that

Loved that tank honestly, it could frontal pen basically everything at it's BR and usually one taps. P.S. almost all of the Swedish vehicles were open cab at that BR, which sucks cause all someone needs is to HE the turret and you die instantly.

the best advice i can give for people using the pvkvII : dotn brake, just let go of the gas. it will prevent your ride wobbling as much and let you make reaction shots faster frankly with the succes ive had with that ride, it would be my favorite if it wouldnt be for the swedish curse of the open tops.

this thing is fully evil, once you get the lead and drop on the gun down, it becomes the best sniper in the game tier for tier IMO. a lot of my best matches have been in this thing, where my enemy never knew they were being fired at.

A fun fact about this vehicle is the turret is sealed off from the hull. Thanks to having two crew in the hull, its unlikely to get one-shotted when hull down and can reverse to safety. Anyhow, my suggestion is to play Sim battles where CAS is moderately less annoying on account of them having to fly without mouse aim, and dedicated fighter cover being more common :)

since you said the ratel 90 wasn't bad, you should play the objectively awful ratel version; the ratel 20. it has the same bad mobility as the 90, but with the same weapons as the marder IFV, which doesn't sound bad at first, until you realise you're expected to fight king tigers and jumbo pershings with 7 slow moving ATGMs and an autocannon that can't even pen a panther's side (day 41)

One thing I noticed about the Pvkv IV is it can be shockingly survivable. With how it’s modeled, the turret and hull crews are far enough away from one another that as long as someone doesn’t smack your ammo or with HE 1/2 of your crew will survive even larger APHE rounds

there's a setting in game that locks the elevation gear when you hit the brakes. when I tested it with the Pvkv II, having it on seems to make the bouncing of the reticle worse. with it off, you get larger oscillations but fewer of them and the gun returns to your aim faster than with it on.

It’s no good in cities, but on big maps this guy is an absolute MENACE. Powerful gun, punches through heavies in full uptiers, absolute sniper scope, and quite mobile. Planes are the worst, but if you get in a good spot, you’ll just obliterate anything that comes your way.

This is my second most played tank behind the strv103A, it works really well as a sniper and fairly good as a close quarters ambusher, plus its ammorack fills from the hull first and a plate separating the turret from it, combined with 2 crew in the hull the pvkv2 has some absurd survivability for what it is

Best thing about this tank is every time you get hit it its an AP overpen that kills like all crew but two. Ironically you can tank quite a few hits bc the standard player wont switch to HE under any circumstance.

I remember there was a tutorial to prevent the turret from bouncing, you had to disable turret movement while the vehicle was moving, in the end I never used that option. I preferred to train shooting with the bouncing turret so that in the end I would use the pvkii as a ramming machine for those who were distracted.😊

AFAIK the 75mm LVK this tank uses was in the same series of designs that would eventually turn into the 88mm Flak. Essentially, the Germans subcontracted a Swedish company to develop those guns, and they present this 75mm and a 80mm gun, both went on to become great exports, but the Germans wanted a larger and more advanced gun still.

4:00 I saw a video recently proving that under certain circumstances, War Thunder straight up doesn't play sounds from tanks that it doesn't render for you, even if you should be able to hear stuff like getting shot by them (until they fire their machine gun). It's very possible that guy simply couldn't hear the PzIV at all because War Thunder decided that he shouldn't. If anybody wants the evidence, go check out "It's NOT Your Fault You Died!" by Gladiator. Shows proof and everything.

This is my most played TD for the Swedish Tech Tree and even until recently has more plays than my CV 90105, its battle record for me is amazing and like some say it's a little fiddly, Gaijin nerfed it time and time again since release, but its still amazing, it can do most things and it is a one shot machine, it's really con as many open TD's it is so sensitive to MG fire and people can shoot you at the very top of the turret and splash your crew if you are trying to peak over a hill, but still my fave within the Swedish Tech Tree.

I've always liked the Pvkv II even before I got it, my performance in my first games were not great at all. It's still very satisfying when it works, and the gun is very powerful at it's BR. It's also got one of the best gunner sight magnifications in the game (even thought it doesn't necessarily need it) which is a neat little feature I really enjoy.
