Give Ukraine everything they need to keep their skies empty of Russian aircraft and weapons. Russia will destroy itself given the time. It's more about keeping Ukraine safe until that happens. China will look to their own interests, and as Russia represents around 3% of their exports while the "West" represents more than 50%, it's rather easy to see which side they'd be forced to pic out of self preservation. It's all economics in the end.

That is probably true but not because China thinks nukes are bad or evil bit rather they do not think they are ready for a larger confrontation just yet That would be the only reason

I remember fresh young Mark Urban reporting from the Iraq - whilst embedded with the Desert Storm U.S. forces on Newsnight (1994 I think.) Do we want Putin to wipe out democracy in Eastern Europe and integrate Ukraine into his empire?) And then for Xi Jinping to say: - "Ah ...Putin has beaten The weak timid West so now I can do the same (and I'll have a strong emboldened Russia as an ally to help me if I need help.") And then there's Iran too. 😊

Maybe editing manager needs to review continuity. The interviewer was smirking while the interviewed chap was saying Russia was considering nuclear weapons use when Ukraine was taking land. It's a put together interview because of how sudden the sound cuts off rather than a flowing interview

If we’re so afraid of a nuclear strike that we allow the nuclear threats of an invading, offensive force to dictate our ability to defend ourselves, we may as well give up everything we value now. There is no threat to Russia when they’re not attempting to conquer the sovereign territory of others.
