Hi Matt, I was about your age when I moved my shop from our first house to our current location. Then I had a section of the cellar dug out and a cement floor put in, another movement of heavy machines. Then a couple of auctions acquiring a 3000 pound lathe and another Bridgeport and later a CNC Bridgeport moving it all by myself. Now at 82 years old all I can do concerning moving heavy machines is live vicariously thru you watching you do the needful on your channel. When I finally have to give up my shop ( not soon I hope) I will have to bring in millwrights to clear the machines out or the buyer will have to collect them. Cheers! Dick B. USA

Top video mate 👍👍 Your shop is like mine… Bloody Tight eh? When I retired and bought all the machinery out of my factory, and into a single + garage, I had to go through similar shenanigans 😵💫. Toe jacks, pallet jacks, engine hoists, bits of pipe ( as rollers). And a bloody lot of sweat and swear words 🤣🤣 Well done Matt 👏👏 Robert 🇦🇺

Mr Chivers, you are a Silly Billy. All you had to do was give me a bell and I would have popped up and given you a hand... Although you suggest that there isn't much space in your "works" there is more room than in mine! Sure you will be really pleased with the new lathe, was very happy with the ones I purchased for work.

Matt, using these feet means that you’re going to have to “level” the machine a lot more often as the rubber compresses over time. Generally, anti vibration feet aren’t used under machinery that has a bed that twists.

Small shop problems. I have the same issue, but nothing can beat a little perseverance.

Ostoolco made a video on levelling a lathe with the 3 points arrangement;

Very insightful. Does the stand deform at all with the toe jack? I think I'm going to be in the position sometime next year with a new Warco GH lathe.

What a drama Matt, but you got there successfully, pity you didn’t get some help. Anyway the move is over, well done👍

It was an event thats for sure! The rollers were a huge help and I'd definitely use them again! Yes it's all over now it's time to get using it!! All the best, Matt 👍🚂

The machine must rest on the vibration damper/adjustable machine mount, the yellow part. Not on the nut! You can adjust the height by turning the threaded end further into the foot. For this purpose, the threaded end has a square so that an open-end wrench can be placed on it. So you don't need extra nuts.

Hmmm I'll have a play with them, although I like the height! All the best, Matt

😂 I know I've put a bit of weight on but by heck not that much!! 😂 I can assure you I fit down the end of the lathe!! Just. All the best, Matt

What are the 2 green machines behind the lathe?

They look like small injection moulding machines ?
@MattChiversWorkshop3 күн бұрын
Yes they are Injection moulders, my daily job is injection moulding and die making. All the best, Matt👍🚂

That looks an awfully like my 13 x 40 Grizzly. I'd bet they came from the same factory in China.
