@genestarwind7 The main problem is that they cost 5 food each.. May as well get grunts. Also there's the fact that by concentrating your population on one unit like that, one mind-control or cyclone or polymorph etc can completely turn the battle in your opponent's favor. Also, you can use the grunts you make early on to help with creeping, whereas if you invest that gold in taurens, you have to wait until they come out until you can go creeping, so you're likely to be at a hero disadvantage too

@Zeracool Burrows = Heavy armor, the only difference with damage there is Magic. Heavy armor does not take reduced damage from Piercing. That would be Medium and Fortified. And Hero armor type, if you count that. Havent seen the replay but Crota was probably refering to Burrows that are being built at the moment(which have light armor and take extra damge from piercing = water elementals). Compared to other Starcraft II casters, you're doing a good job. Of course you still see the difference to a real Warcraft III caster, who is more familiar with some details (e.g. 10:30 invu pot can't drop at this spot, it was the ring +4; at 12:05, Grubby is not disenchanting because spirit link is more valuable), but that's okay, you know most of the important things going on, so it's enjoyable. Keep going on your work, I'd like to see more WC3!

Grubby is so much better than Majestic, you could see him immediately hexing/ensnaring the AM when it casted blizz, he had total map control, killed the MK beautifully etc etc the list goes on and on. Very fast reaction times from Grubby in this game. I loved observing the decisions he made, for example not long after t2 was done he stayed at his base instead of creeping because he knew it was a usual timing for humans to push. The game was full with little tricks like this that wasnt mentioned

I love Warcraft. It was the first video game I bought as a kid and I loved the story line from Reign of Chaos throughout Frozen throne. I've never played WoW, but I really think Blizzard would benefit from a new Warcraft game. They just lost like 1.5 million players, and Warcraft games are a proven success, but we'll see. As for remastering the game, I actually like the graphics. They aren't bad, but they aren't too flashy either, some good nostalgia. I just wish that Illidan's army was a race.

Actually, burrows take reduced Damage from Waterelementals (piercing). Full Damage would be form magic (hence the Tier 3 Upgrade to have the armor become Structure-type was introduced in TFT) Also, thxx for uploading WC3 Replays but this one was a tad bit onesided (you coud tell from the amount of Peasants killed during the first creepwave who would win)

why are WC3 games so much more interesting than SC2 games? i like how it actually matters where your units are placed and where/when you move them, unlike in SC2... mass up an army at your base, then attack together i think it has to do with the fact that micro is useless, there's no point in trying to save units

@djuraster You benefit of brilliance aura for WE too. You spend 7.5 mana/sec in one case and 6.25 in the other. Frankly you don't even have to argue, see the last fight, he should have not even cast blizzard once and just use normal AM attack, he would have had more damage output that way... (Well he should not have retrained in the first place of course...)

When the screen resolution changes dramatically the mouse sensitivity also changes. Change the resolution for the game to be much greater so the mouse sensitivity change wont be as large

Oh, trust me, I know they do it for money. As for the story, I do know it's in there, but I feel they have harmed it more than helped it. I played WoW from Alpha tests through WotLK, and quit around when Cata was announced. I really hated what Cata did.

I totally agree with you, it was very demeaning to see Illidan become the number 1 villian in burning crusade and so many other things like cairne dying, Arthas being killed and not redeemed etc etc + a lot of side lore has been totally screwed up just cuz blizz wanna keep the game going to earn money

Seeing this makes me want to play the game again...I think the ladder died some time ago didn't it? I never really got that good anyway. I did manage to get good with orcs near the time i quit (my strategy was, harrass with blademaster while i built an army of 3 orcs and 2 trolls, then heal up with a salve and harrass again with that while i upgraded to tier 2, return to heal before i lose units, then go back and harrass as long as possible, not caring if i lost units or not while i built an army of wyverns, bc once that was done, my opponent would be too far behind to deal with them and that was game). Sadly though I spent most of my time playing the scourge, bc i was a goth of course. Oh, and I really hated night elves. Never found a good strategy against them. And I think the top strategy in the end was bears and dryads right? I recall even the pros struggling to come up with a counter to that.

There is no longer bears and dryads now. Because the grubby always using the predator to play gueerilla warfare. The night elves now using the wind druid (sorry i forgot the name) to make the blademaster fly on the sky to minimize the dps of orc. So the second hero of orc against night will be the tauren chieftain to remedy the loose of DPS. BTW I have played this game for 12 years but I'm not good at that.

ladder is still going strong:) i play solo ladder in europe battlenet and search time during the day is like 1 minute, search time during night can be from 2 to 6 minutes

@ricefarmer wc3 is focused on micro, while SC on macro+micro but not as tensive as WC3. However WC3 has much less strats and builds than SC, no doubt about it. WC3 is all about heros while SC plain units and predicting the moves of your enemy. So i dunno about what kind depth you are talking about. But in terms of playstyle and amount of strat/build +timing tactics SC is over the top. In the end you comparing very diff RTS.

And yes, heroes are not everything, but raping another guy with only units are only on low level games, It's hard to win pro player without a single hero, maybe if you are using night elves and go for the tower rush. taurens have their uses, just not in 1v1. first of all they need an entire building dedicated to them. they also train INCREDIBLY slow. so you effectively have 5 (or 10 if you built 2 totems) of food locked up for a long time. pulverize also takes a long time to train. besides, the game is usually decided by t2 anyways =/

WC3 is fun to watch too! Battles are more elaborate and take more effort to manuver properly... Starcraft is just one big ball vs another big ball and everything dies in 10 seconds. Here... battles last 5-10 minutes!!!

You have to look at the facts, marketing and money wise, WoW had so much more potential than a warcraft IV both on short terms and long terms.Oh and WoW does have a storyline, its quite minor compared to WC series but still its there and it is a bit nostalgic every now and then.I'll be honest I don't like MMOs alot and kinda disliked the coming of WoW, but when I tried it with some friends, its pretty damn fun and addicting, its still the warcraft universe, and being a MMO makes it more diverse
