This is a prime example of that "Tony Stark built this in a cave" meme. Blizzard couldn't be bothered to actually enhance the original as they promised, and instead made up some last minute excuse about keeping it "true to the original". All the while, this one person is sitting at home on his computer, painstakingly editing all the big and small cutscenes together with stellar animation and careful attention to details. Bravo, mate, bravo!

What an absolute cinematic experience. The attention to detail while delivering that excellent pacing, animation, and camera editing felt like watching an actual show. I especially loved the way the camera was handled, like that transition from the granary crates to them being shipped on the carriage. I can clearly see that you have improved your craft since the early episodes with how well you are making the story flow so smoothly from scene to scene while keeping it to the voice acting and story of the original. Just fabulous. If there is anything I could see being improved it would be the scene with Thrall and Vol'jin. I felt it should have been longer. The scene while fantastically shot felt like it just started and then ended without much of a climax to the intensity of the ships being dragged into the Maelstrom. Maybe if Thrall and Vol'jin worked together to prevent all the ships from being all sucked in and destroyed by the Maelstrom to strengthen their brotherly bond but still ending with Thrall getting thrown overboard could have helped improve this part? At least that's the only missed opportunity I could think of in this episode. Fantastic job! :D
@ignasias3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm actually confused because Thrall hadnt even met Vol'jin (or any Darkspear trolls) yet during that point. It was the storm that washed them upon the island where he THEN met Sen'jin (Vol'jin's father) and the rest of the Darkspear trolls for the first time. He helped them against the murloc invasion which led to a sea witch basically destroying the island which is why Thrall invited the Darkspears to ally with his orcish Horde.
@ignasias3 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing that scene was either another "vision" of Thrall's, OR a vision Vol'jin was seeing of the Orcs coming to their island. The teaser clip at the end of this season shows Thrall finding his original group of Orcs, not one Troll seen amongst that camp. So yeah its gotta be a vision of some sort. I guess we'll find out in season 3!

The captain is probably Captain Falric, who survives all the way to northrend and beyond. In the original game hes just a different footman model and (I think) had the name "captain". He shows up in a few cutscenes and you get him in most of the human campaign missions, and you eventually have him alongside another captain (mawryn) when arthas kills the king. Later on in some books and in WoW they give that captain a name, Falric. But yeah, it's cool to see characters that aren't the center of attention actually not dying left and right.

Even with your own spin on it, you can still feel the Warcraft 3 progression running underneath of the CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE. I think the lighting and the soundtrack do a ton of work for the story you are telling. Also with the limited amount of dialogue from Arthas and Jaina, it flows really well. My only criticisms would be the transitions are slightly long and you might want to put a "Viewer Discretion Advised" either in the comments or a quick one before the video starts because there were several onscreen deaths and a lot of blood. Other than that, I am so excited to see what you come up with next! You love the story as much as we love your work and it is definitely fantastic to see your take on it. Keep up the incredible job!

I am blown away at how well crafted this series is. The plot of Warcraft 3 and how the story is told in game lends itself so well to a cinematic recreation. You’ve done an amazing job at hitting the story beats and visually depicting the gameplay battles. The Hearthglen scene was both awesome and horrifying to watch. In gameplay you just don’t get the same shock of that event being overhead, but seeing it from the perspectives of the characters fighting was chilling. Definitely looking forward to seeing this masterpiece all the way through! This is definitely something to be proud of
