Great Video, when it gets cold, and kicked off Natural Gas we go on #6 oil. Huge pain, wish we had LNG at our plant...

I didn’t hear anything on how boil off gas is managed and what the pressure max is for the tankage before you need to do something. I’m assuming the reliquifaction is not a cost effective option for back fuel arrangement so customers will need to burn off some of the pressure to keep from lifting safety devices on tankage. I’m assuming these are Type C pressure vessels. Also, the cost of tankage is a consideration I would think. What is the infrastructure cost comparison between LNG and No. 2 FO. There has to be other soft advantages e.g. environmental emissions that drive decisions to convert.

Most LNG tanks I have seen have a back pressure regulator on the gas space of the tank. So the heat input causes internal boil off and warming until reaching the regs setpoint and then it dribbles gas into a vent line. What you do with that vent depends on your area. Can you vent it, do you have to flare it, etc. Also, most bulk LNG storage tanks are 175 psig, same as hydrogen tanks.

Hi do you offer online classes? I’m an apprentice as a combustion engineers so I work on the burner side of things but now and again do boiler strip downs. I’m from the UK. Keep up the very educational videos. Thanks
