Look, all I know is my mag size on mine is 34 because of a riven and every magazine size mod available. It's bigger than most syandana. I love it dearly. It sucks ass though and basically requires the nightwave mod that hasnt made a resurgence at all in a while.

Ok ill tell you the best thing about carmine penta. The added magazine size. But why you ask? Because the penta magazine size is visually seen on the gun. This bigger base magazines means you can extend the magazine size with mods to the point it practically touches the floor. In terms of combat it sucks yeah, but meme of "my magazine is a melee weapon length" is hilarious.

Thankfully there's enough stuff in the game now you don't need to farm this out unless you're going for absolute completion, and I'll be happy once I hit MR 30 (no more missing 2 points of capacity when I forma out a new piece of gear). Just another MR fodder weapon like so many others and not even an easy to acquire one.

Fun lil thing about the Penta, so long as you don't use the alf-fire and have punch through, I *believe* that the grenades will persist indefinitely in a Mag bubble! I say believe because this was tech from a long while ago, and CERTAINLY isn't necessary nowadays, so I'm not sure if it still exists!

Use any penta with mags bubble and dont detonate it, then detonate the orb after a few seconds. Assuming im remembering right and it still works it makes the bubble scale really high really fast for some reason.

I think part of the issue here is the build, this just isn't a weapon with high enough crit and damage to run a heat build vs tanky enemies, and rifle aptitude isn't doing enough to be worth running, you're much better off with using Hunter Munitions for the tanky enemies like Eximus or Bombards, and just boosting the regular damage with Primed Cryo Rounds so you can one to two shot weaker enemies like Butchers and Lancers, focussing on damage and crit rather than status chance, as it already spreads enough status with the firerate and explosions. With a build like that, I've found it performs pretty well in Steel Path. Don't forget though that this weapon isn't like regular launchers with high single shot damage and low firerate, this weapon actually has a very high magazine and firerate for a launcher, but much lower damage per shot, it's not as good as Secura I think, mainly due to the lower range and worse falloff, but if you treat it like a spam weapon and just hurl as many grenades as you can at everything you see, it's not far behind the Secura, and in that, the magazine size and firerate do help a lot. Any form of ammo mutation is enough to give it basically infinite ammo to spam with. This weapon just suffers from a tough acquisition, having a better version of it that is more readily available, and having a "best playstyle" that's a bit antithetical to how a grenade launcher usually works in games. It's definitely not deserving of being the least used primary in the game, if only just because it looks snazzy as hell, but with the acquisition and Secura existing, it's entirely understandable why it has such low usage.

@@Joe90hit sounds counter-intuitive, but HM is actually very good on a weapon like this. HM triggers on critical hits, so it sounds like it would be best on weapons that have a very high crit chance, and while that is technically true, it doesn't mean that HM is actually the best option there. Weapons with a very high crit chance are usually pretty decent, and they don't need HM to kill enemies. In fact, they're often better off running something else. HM excels when your weapon *doesn't* have the damage to kill enemies with just regular hits, if your weapon is very strong, HM probably isn't the best mod you can choose. HM works best on weapons that can deal some damage and aren't bad, but need the slash damage to kill the enemy afterwards. Carmine Penta fires a lot of shots, and can reach 30% crit chance with just Crit Delay, combined with multishot and its fast fire rate, 30% crit is a pretty high chance to trigger HM. The Secura may seem like it would be the better choice for HM due to its higher crit chance, but HM does a lot more for Carmine as Secura needs it less to kill enemies. Just because something works better with weapons with certain stats, doesn't mean that those weapons actually benefit the most from that. HM synergises with high crit chance, but weapons with high crit chance often don't need a mod like HM to kill enemies. Instead, HM is best on a weapon like Carmine Penta, or a weapon with a high explosive range but low damage, because we want to use HM to make up for the fact that our weapon doesn't do enough damage to kill the enemies directly. If our weapon can kill without HM, then chances are, HM isn't very good on that weapon. HM is a really good mod, but it's definitely not a *universal* mod, as some people make it seem. You shouldn't always equip it, but it can be very good on certain weapons.

@@DaronMGLI get what you mean, though from testing, HM was the best option I could find for dealing with armour. The Carmine just doesn't have a way to stack up enough heat DOT to kill tougher enemies. I found that i could usually kill weaker enemies with just damage, but when it came to killing Eximus, I just didn't have the up-front damage to get through their armour, and HM remedied that. Secura is the better Penta I think, though if they had the same range stats, I could see myself using Carmine more for lower level content, as it has more ammo per magazine and fires faster. The lower range on the Carmine really kills it though I think, because Secura just spreads damage in a wider area in a faster time, even with Carmine's bigger magazine and faster fire rate.

Use hunter munitions and Napalm grenades with viral and crit mods.....it works everywhere....least effective on corpus.....can't fit on the big AOE mod unless you ditch hunter munitions. If you can get a riven with crit chance and base damage you can leave off serration this let's you double stack crit chance for way more slash procs..... slash viral and heat with scaling multishot might be the best damage combo in Warframe Either this or slash, viral, and toxin.... especially with high fire rate.... Toxic procs drop off quick but if you stack em high enough it can kill any enemy in the game regardless of shields or overguard....it just squeezes by any defense 😅

Bruh.mp4 I just did my 2nd ever survival lvl cap solo run (murmur tileset) with *MODDED* BLAST/RADIATION/TOXIC Secure Penta, *WITHOUT* armor stripping from ANY source and via using Mag (2nd ability, 400% str). Took me 12,5h with 4 long pauses in-between, but damn the penta-weapon class itself can shred enemies specifically only in Mag's bubble, since the damage comes directly from collision damage of the grenades and NOT from manually detonating the them. They can and will also proc status effects (toxin dots and slash procs from hunter munitions + internal bleeding mods).
