Man, I saw the lists and immediately assumed the Circle player would win. Rotterhorns answer the Kayazy perfectly, and Kromac with lightning strike, and the heavies handle the MOW and Grolar perfectly. At the same time the Khador force had some issues with hitting high defense, so the druid vortexes and primal howl would've made Kromac practically untouchable after the Grolar went down. When Kromac went in on the Kayazy, all I could think was, "No, no, no, the great bears have pathfinder and you need to camp" Ironically, he would've been better off staying at the wall to get the +2 def from the bears over the wall and casting primal howl to prevent the assassination. Great game overall guys. I always love these reports.

This is an amazing battle report! I really love how in-detail it is, and what's more... I love that all the models are painted, and there's some nice terrain. Sometimes that can be quite lacking in WMH reports! The background music is great aswell, really sets a good theme.

I love the look of man o wars!!!! I did a scenario with 80 ish zombies vs like 5 man o wars in a swamp and it was a BLAST!!! My own rules set of corse but i'd throw waves of zombies at them and they would kill a lot but with them replenishing they BARRELY made it off the board. Sue won but there were a TON of zombies on her tail and we both had a BALL!

As a side note for all the budding Warmachinists out there, Acrobatics (granted to the Kayazy by the Underboss Mini-feat) only allows models to draw Line-of-Sight and move through other models, NOT obstacles such as the wall (17:30), which I believe she just ran over to jam (which is fine). Charges over a wall can only occur if your model/unit has Pathfinder.

I love what you did with your army, deploying a wave of expendable light but hard-hitting skirmishers and keeping in reserve a really solid secondary line of stuff that would still hit hard and be more difficult to chew through that would contact the wolfman forces after the first wave did its job then got eaten up.

Andrew Lepperd Thank you! With epic Irusk I got to add Tough to my Kayazy which was really cool. Plus he gives friendly faction the ability to move through each other within in command range so it was a lot easier to keep the second wave protected behind the front line. I wish my Shocktroopers did more work, especially with the IF Kovnik making them a bit faster. They tend to me hit or miss for me in games, but I'll just always have a soft spot for the big lugs.

I think MOWSTs are less dire than some folks make them out to be, certainly the most fieldable MoW especially with IF Kovnik to put some pep in their step. If you hadn't gotten the opportunity to assassinate with the GB, I'm sure they would have done some work in a more protracted scenario game.

Yeah Scenario was my first plan actually. Just so happened to see the opportunity with the Great Bears. Shocktroopers are pretty good if you take the IF Kovnik - again mostly for scenario play, but I'm also a pretty big fan of Demo Corp. Can you imagine getting 5 Demo Corp with Battle Lust charging warbeasts? They're really good...as long as they can actually make it into contact =)

Miranda, around the 18 minute mark some Kayazy Assassins miss a Druids due to clouds. Concealment doesn't have an effect on melee, so they don't have any penalty for atttacking a target inside a cloud unless the cloud itself grants a penalty to hit (like Assault Kommando Strangle Gas does). Mind you, I'm not entirely up on Circle units, so for all I know Blackclad clouds DO have this affect, but if it's a basic cloud, you shouldn't have missed.

Nice battle report, wanted to ask, what are your thoughts on assault kommandos? I like them but their average RAT makes me question their effectiveness

Mikhail2331 I haven't really had much experience with Assault Kommandos (I don't own my own yet), so all I can say is based on looking at their card. I typically see them played in "fluff" lists rather than more competitive games. The immunity to fire and corrosion is nice, if situational (anti Menoth/anti Cryx). They do not have good DEF/ARM states for a tarpit, so they need a way of not getting shot off the board. I would guess they are pretty good if you can keep them behind clouds, like with the Tactical Arcanist Corp for example. Assault Kommandos can see through clouds anyway so they lose no effectiveness while still being protected from ranged attacks and charges. If you put the Iron Fang Kovnik with them they they can shield wall 8 inches - which could be useful for zone control. Then they can just shoot a bunch of grenades at the enemy (basically using 10 attacks to make up for RAT 5) to reduce enemy defense and send your harder hitting troops in.

Before somebody asks, 20:45 is a Counter Slam triggered from a Tactical Supremacy advance. Because my Gnarlhorn was less than 3" away, no attack was made, because I didn't get the distance for a slam. Also, we did play the Cassius game later... I'll let her tell you how it went. =P

Another great video Miranda. There's some guys at the club looking to get into WMH and this is a great example of how both focus and fury mechanics work. Also really well presented, making the game look very accessible, when it can seem very intimidating to newbies. Only tiny quibble is the unexplained satyr advance at a kayazy at end of a Khador turn. Was that a counterslam (Except no attack made as started within 3")?

Great report! One thing though, after you popped feat, doesn't that allow you to ignore cloud effects? You applied a -2 to hit for your assassins that turn.

MrNosreme70 Yes, you ignore cloud effects for LOS purposes. It doesn't ignore any other effect of the cloud, whether it be -2 to attack rolls (Druids of Orboros' clouds, Jarl's feat clouds), or taking a point of corrosion damage, or suffering fire damage, or any other effect from other various cloud effects that exist in the game.

Curious as to why on turn 3 Kromac advanced with her entire army bearing down on circle. Why not pull back and get Kromac out of harms way. The eliminators are a threat but no fury for transfers way up front boggles my mind.

I got greedy for a corpse token or two. Kromac2 can hold onto those for as long as he wants, and it helps his fury reserves when you do want to commit him to more. I needed to Sprint away, however, and we saw what happened. I also commented on some positioning stuff at the end of the video. Yes, it would have been better for me to stay back a bit. However, going for the eliminators gave me another piece to contest that zone (which I needed) that still isn't the easiest thing to kill.

The Man-O-War still did nothing but they did look nice. I got a lot of questions on this battle report. So why no use your feat? Why not hide behind the wall for protection? The Primal Roar would have also helped with that. Surprised you didn't use Primal Shock(that is the name of the spray spell based from a warbeast right?) When the Satyr got in next to the Grolar Why no Winter Argus for +2 ARM with Kromac? That is for me all my theory crafting on Kromac 2 includes the Winter Argus. Still great game and definitely was interesting

DiploRaptor At no point in the game thus far would my feat have mattered. I addressed a couple other issues in the post-game report. Ultimately, I was trying to save the feat until the Gnarlhorn and/or Kromac could get into the Man-O-War, since I didn't have a Gorax. I could have been closer to the wall - positioning error on my part for the guns - but even then, the wall is close enough, and the Great Bears angle great enough, that their Relentless Charge would've helped mitigate it. It's not difficult to get 3 small based reach models on a large base at those angles. The more distance, the better. Primal Shock is not a spray - it's single target. I needed to move Kromac up to make sure I had the Control Range for my Riphorn, as well as continue to threaten the table, and that close, I'd rather spend the 3 fury (2 for casting the spell, 1 for boosting damage at POW 12 for the Riphorn) for a DEF buff in Primal Howl that mattered for her incoming feat turn. Go back and look at how much I had Kromac camp every turn. How often would I be able to afford the 2 fury to cast Winter Coat and have it matter? Kromac spends so much fury already, I can rarely, if ever, justify losing 2 transfers for +2 ARM. Also, whenever I have to choose, I usually would prefer speding 3 fury for +2 DEF and screw up my opponent's command checks from Terror rather than 1 less fury for +2 ARM and a must more niche buff in Immunity: Cold. In my current version of Kromac2, the Winter still isn't in there for those reasons. If you really do want to use the Winter Argus, though, I actually prefer Kaya1. I've got 2 with her in my current iteration (which I almost played for this video... but new shiny Kromac2!), and it's a blast.

You could just ignore the Man-O-Wars that is what I would do. Just ignore them and move along they will just eat resources better used on a assassination or somewhere else. Fair positioning is one of those key things. Though maybe its my knowledge of Khador making me biased. Fair enough I also think there is a spray version of Primal Shock though maybe it's on Mordikaar... See the Immunity Cold I like because it lets him go in on Sorscha, and other casters of her ilk. It lets Kromac handle the terror of an eBorka feat turn better. I do that too! Kaya 1 with a Winter Argus is silly fun. I also bring a unit of Wolf Riders. I've gotten at least 3 assassinations from assaulting javelin weapon masters onto a stationary target thanks to the Argus Actually that is a question. Why try and kill him at all he had used the mini-feat and was at that point only a threat to infantry

DiploRaptor You'll notice I did ignore the Man-O-Wars. =P However, I didn't see any need for an ARM buff yet, nor any need for the STR buff... and my Druids hadn't charged anything. As for the Underboss... it didn't matter much which one I killed. I wanted a corpse token primarily... The Underboss was close, and killing him takes 2 Battle Lusted attacks away vs just 1 from the other Assassin. Never underestimate 1 extra die and how that can spike. Just look at your Wolf Rider assassinations, and how that'd work if they weren't Weapons Master. =P

psycojester Primaling Ghet for a MAT buff +Carnage vs. IF Kayazy means he still needs 8s to hit, and I'll only get 3 or 4, and I'll not be able to use him next turn - bad trade. Primaling Ghet +Feat to do dice +2 on Shield Wall on Shocktroopers means he'll get 3 or 4 depending on dice, and I'll not be able to use him next turn - again a bad trade. Also, I don't need Primal for Ghet to kill Man-o-War. Sprint is better. =) A Rotterhorn screeching to have a high chance of killing 5-6 IF troops is really good, and Primaling it into a Shocktrooper means he should kill one, but still gets to slow down the slow guys... MUCH better option IMO. I only feel like I need to control Mon-o-War, not necessarily kill them.
