HI!! Fellow guard player, Did the Command/ heavy squad coke with enough men to man the guns and build command/special weapons guys? Or did you have to choose?

One thing I noticed about the Heavy Weapons kit is that, while you have only six tripods for mounting, you still have all the parts for 12 heavy weapons. You just need to mount them on something else. Whether that's third party tripods (Anvil Industries sells some), or clipping bits of sprue and glueing them down like a stack of bricks. You can get pretty creative with this setup, and even tell interesting stories with the kitbash. Like the cannon barrel resting on a ruined brick wall or sandbag barrier.

They don't have the powerpack-hose thing that the hotshot lasguns used by the Scions have...though you could say it's some kind of recovered STC design that has a strong enough internal battery that it doesn't need one.

I think the Eisenkern models work, "counts as" wise, for Tempestus Scions (aka Storm Troopers). They're not as fancy as the GW models, obviously, not as ornate. But they are slick models, and much cheaper. So if you want to run a detachment of deep-striking troopers, you can definitely do worse.

They are very menacing on the table top if you paint them right. They take very well to drybrushing.

@@yuttorres2896 In the time since my comment, WA have done their crowdfund for "Lost & the Damned" style plastic kits. Among them an elite infantry kit, very obviously meant to stand in either for Tempestus Scions or Kasrkin. The base sculpts have a stronger "Blood Pact" aesthetic, though with a head swap they could be made more ambiguously Imperial. Moreover, unlike the Eisenkern models, the upcoming "Damned" kit will have weapon options more clearly in line with GW "stormtroopers". So you need no conversions or alternate bits to give them Hot-Shot Lasguns, special weapons, etc. If you're willing to wait something like 6+ months, that might be a more useful purchase. Though the Eisenkern models are certainly not terrible.

After watching this video, I went and bought one of each infantry box for the death fields range. They looks so sick and I actually had the old Eisenkern Stormtroopers models but they have seen better days so I also bought the new 2020 box as well.

These Eisenkern stormtroopers make good Solar Auxilia for HH: Age of Darkness. Use the provided weapons for lasrifles and flamers, and add packs of FW Volkite Chargers for Veletarii Storm Sections. The 10-box deal gives you enough models for 9 lasrifle sections plus command sections and Medicae, or substitute storm or flamer sections for lasrifle sections at 2 to 1. At 200 models for $US 265, that is $1.33 per figure, compared to FW's $4-$7 per figure. Bases can be sourced inexpensively from wargamesbaseworld.com They also make good Imperalis Militia with the Survivors of the Dark Age Provenance.

I am interested in the storm troopers, but one of my worries is the weapons all look so similar in all the images I have seen. Being able to tell what weapons the soldiers are holding at a glance is important to me, and several of the weapons in the sprue look like nondescript longarms. Do the guns look too same-y to you?

They are. There's quite a few you could just call lasgun. For heavy weapons I'd probably use gw bits. Still a great savings

You could always paint the different weapon types slightly different colors, to make it easy to tell at a glance. Even if it's just like a red accent on certain parts of the weapon, or the like.

@@DM-CW the astetic and poses look silly and don't match 40k. I'd buy recast mordians or steel legion before these , they look like children's army men. You get what you pay for. Compare them to Victoria miniatures or mini robot guard and you'll see what I mean.

@@y2j1490yahoo I think it's unfair to compare them to Victoria bc those are resin and quality casts are easier/cheaper for the manufacturer in that case. The faces do look kidish but I been combining them with anvil industry heads. I could see the argument with the poses but aren't the gw heavy weapon team basically the same?
