I started building a table I have been thinking about for a long time. It measures 4'x4' and can expand to measure 4'x8'. I plan to install drawers and shelves.

it has lights???!?!?!!? daaaammmmnnnnn!!! Now that's fancy. Can't wait for the instruction videos. Seems pretty neat. Nothing like the portable table I'm going to build.

Just an observation but I have seen the droop problem with a few projects now and no one seems to think about canter levering the extended ends. There is two ways to do it but metal rods in the body of the sections seems to be the most obvious. when you fold the end out you then slide the rod 60% of the way along into the other board on either side for stability. Alternately just use a recessed fold down leg or legs on the extended part. Your solution appears to provide the stability but it looks a pain to manage. The advantage to me seems to be your dice wont roll off the table. Any way, not trying to be rude, as I said, just making an observaion.

Feels like adding on the screw on sides to stop the drooping actually counteracts the purpose of the easily foldable table in the first place. I'd go with some flip up bracers for the extended sections.

I know the screws slow down folding it out, but I really wanted the lighting system around the perimeter. Can't wait to get this done and throw down a Night Fight!
