Nice use of mini magnets and key bar stock. I use similar magnets for micro inspection...

Cool idea, sadly doesn't work with magnetised terrain (catwalks) because minis get stuck haha.

I kinda came across this video by accident - I'm not into this genre of model making BUT I can appreciate the model making skills that are going into this. Kudos man! 👍

i love rust effect when its not too much and not in the wrong climate. i feel to many use it in the dry desert or where its constantly frozen, that does not logicly work. for example on a planet thats always below 0 degrees when will the metal ever have the chance to get wet? and come across salt? or the dry desert sure it might rain for a day or two but thats not enough time to rust before its dry as sand again. i think people need to think about the climate they are making too not just make it

I get what you're saying, but it really does come down to whether you're going for realism or stylised terrain. Either way, you are right, less is more👍

I bought a Silhouette cutting machine but it will NOT easily cut or score even the thinnest plasticard, there is nowhere near enough pressure. I'm not sure how the guy managed to do it with Ecraft machine. It's possible to score simple large shapes by making multiple passes, but small intricate shapes are near impossible - I've read it can be done if you progressively lower the blade multiple, multiple times.

My curiosity won't let me retrace the steps to the beginning of the series, is this off the WD diagrams? Cause that's a dream project for when I'm a card carrying responsible adult.

Late to your YT but hope you return. Interested in template as well to build myself. One of best paint holders I’ve seen. Less space on workbench along with traveling. Two for paint, one with empty shelves for tools, glue, etc..

Are you actually printing the parts onto styrene sheet and cutting it out?

I need to make tracks 1:76 for M16 halftrack from Revell, I got this kid from somone who had it for like 20 years and the tracks were made of some kind of rubber plastic that, believe it or not just crumbled in my hand when I touched them, just like a pice of dry bread lol. Now I need to make the tracks of the right size somehow. they are like 5 milimeters wide I thought about putting a tape around the drive procket and the road wheels, and cover it with putty and to the lines myself with a toothpick or some other tool. I also have some styrene sheets, but they are smooth, not ribbed. I would much rather buy some aftermarket tracks that would fit my halftrack, I would like them to look realistic. Sadly I have no idea how to find the correct size, because usually they are made for specific tank models, and they are wider in scale 1/76, than halftrack's are. What can I do, any ideas?

Are you really using a 400$ ultrasound knife for .5mm styrene? 😂 talk about overkill

Just an observation but I have seen the droop problem with a few projects now and no one seems to think about canter levering the extended ends. There is two ways to do it but metal rods in the body of the sections seems to be the most obvious. when you fold the end out you then slide the rod 60% of the way along into the other board on either side for stability. Alternately just use a recessed fold down leg or legs on the extended part. Your solution appears to provide the stability but it looks a pain to manage. The advantage to me seems to be your dice wont roll off the table. Any way, not trying to be rude, as I said, just making an observaion.

my mechanical pencil I converted to hold a tig welding rod that fitted and cut down to the length of the lead and gets used as a scribe another one has the point sharpened flat like a blade. Great ideas for the rivets I do ish the same but use alloy tube but process is the same. You could make acro props miniature with U section on ends to keep 2 parts in line.

Excellent and extremely accurate means of creating truly solid modular boards. I also like the magnet connections, I personally already use magnet for connecting my road and river terrain pieces. Mine use inexpensive rubber magnetized sheets adhesive acked, and these can be joined to the terrain as the connecting end is fitted with a lip made of ready cut metal wargaming bases I purchased online from LITKO.net. Works very well!

Watching this about 7 years late. Anyone that sees this after me looking for rivet ideas there is a website called greenstuff world that sells a mould to make various size and shaped rivets and bolts out of greenstuff for and 15 dollars or so. Might want to check it out. There are vids of it here on youtube too
