Needing to have a 55-65 pt Crypyek follow around your scarab swarm to do actions is still a nerf, though.

@@michaeljdauben think of it more as having a 40 PTS scarab swarm following around a unit of wraiths with technomancer. That way you can use the wraiths to block, tank and fight, while the scarabs do the actions.

@@michaeljdauben Put a chronomancer with gauss immortals and you'll jump 5" shoot 24" then jump 5" to keep up with scarabs and give immortals -1 to be hit

i kinda agree, but its contributed to necrons being a top tier unit, we will have to see if it slows us down, playing fixed is going to be difficult again

Seems fair, its more like a clarification that should have always been in the game like fixing a loophole. The whole point of actions is that you sacrifice your shooting/charge to do the action. I don't think it was ever the intent that some units could loophole their way out of it. I don't consider this a nerf i consider this a loophole plug.

I like this, makes sense. Theres a button over there you need pushed, the scarab flies over, isnt smart enough to understand button pushing. Hes just a little guy.

I used to run 1 scarab swarm in hypercrpyt but after the last changes to ctan points I had to drop it to get perfectly back to 2000. Even tho they are 20pt more unless nerfed with the mission deck changing use deathmarks. They shoot they teleport/ can redeploy and they don't scare anything so they are likely not to get shot. If they do congrats that 1 less activation against the rest of your army

Chaos Knights are going to tank so hard, with no having 0 OC units not being able to do action along with the Daemon ally rules.

Trying a warrior blob against orks with reapers and illuminor as an ap buff, also the 3 man lockhust heavy with the L lord leading for the 36 shots at 18". Hopefully i can mow them down before i get run over in melee

By the way, I officially became a filthy meta chaser and ended up purchasing the Chaos Marine Codex along with the Veterans of the Long War Battle Force and the old Combat Patrol since I'm heavily leaning towards Dark Pact Zealots which makes the Hellbrute a very Valulable Support Piece giving ant units within 6" that have a Mark of Chaos both Lethal and sustained hits. I also picked up the Demon Combat Patrol with the intent of using Demonic Allies which now require a battleline unit before you add can add something like Skarbrand who is a beast that also buffs Khorne Battleilne Units within 6" by giving them a +1 to their attack characteristic. Have you seen the weapon profile on the Bloodletters Swords? for 120 points you get a maxx unit of 10 with a Str 5 Sword that is AP -2 and deals 2 damage. Unfortunately, they only have 2 attacks each which i why I like Skarbrand and his 6" +1 Attack Aura, but my god...the Aura is just a lucky bonus for having to take a aKhrone Battleline unit. Skrarbrand is still really upset from challenging Khorne to a duel and ended up getting slapped so hard he went flying through the Warp for several weeks before he landed and lost the use of his wings. For 305 Points plus the cost of 10 Bloodletters which is 120 points which brings you to a total of 425 points Demonic. in a 2000-point game you are limited to 500 points of Demons, so you might as well go big since you must include a demonic battleline unit in addition to the Greater Demonb of your choice. Anyway, He is Move 8", T 11, Save 4+, 20 Wounds, 6+ LD and OC 5. He does have a ranged attack which is a 12' Roar that acts as a Flamer with 2D6 attacks at Str 5, 1 Damage. He dual wields two Axes which can be used as direct attacks for a total of 8 attacks, hitting on a 2+ with aa Str of 16, AP -4 and 6 Flat Damage with each successful melee attack. He can also perform a Sweep attack that consists of 16 attacks, hitting on 2+, Str 8, AP -1 and 2 Damage. Not bad when up against Marine profiles. He gives frlendly Korne Demons within 6" a +1 to thier attacks in melee. He has a 2nd Aura that is also 6" which affects friendly and enemy units each time they try to perform a Fall back, the unit must pass a LD check. If the unit failed its LD check they must remain stationary during this phase. This will effect m Chaos Marines and Bloodletters as well... He does bracket when he his total wounds is between 1-7, instead of suffering a -1 to hit, he gains 2 additional attacks ...lol

Gonna have to bust out the Royal Wardens for Fallback and shoot to action. I currently run a 20 brick with him and Orikan in hypercrypt and its been one of my best units.

I'm not greatly concerned for my Crons. Immortals are still solid battleline, and a variety of things that can still serve as action monkeys. Plus as one of the other commenters noted, just having a cryptek nearby makes our scarabs viable as action monkeys and we still have Deathmarks, Flayed Ones, and Lokhust Destroyers. All of this is depending on the dataslate and points of course, but I think Necrons are in a place where they can adjust fairly well. My Custodes, though....I have more concerns there...

Daemon Prince Powi (dunno how you spell it 😅) is going to absolutely love you saying how Annihilation Barges have a use 😂 Also Scarabs get +1 OC near Crypteks so they might still be key player in the Canoptek Court and definitely when compared to other swarm units

I love abusing the Immortal Carbine Assault combo so this hurts me hard af. At least my Monolith benefits from being able to shoot and still do actions. I wonder if Necron Warriors with a res orb Overlord and an Orikan or a Technomancer are gonna be good for this mission deck.

I just spotted a leak suggesting that actions can't be started whilst in engagement range. So sadly the vehicle, big guns never tire, idea wont work. I'm predicting a resurgence of the MSU, with bigger units screening.

It’s not as bad as it first seems you have to be a little more clever with how you. There are ways of giving them that oc and there is nothing wording that it’s based on starting oc

I really hated how certain units with mixed weapons would take 1 Assault Weapon to do actions and currently units with several weapon options with 1 Assault can still advance and shoot. Hopefully that gets an errata. Immortals with an Overlord with Translocation Shroud will help with speed. I'm going full Awakened Dynasty baby. Looking foward to trying out my Tesseract Ark at 130 Points with its 6 Gauss Cannon Shots and its Flamer Profile from its Singularity Chamber that has a D6+3 auto hitting attacks with all the Flamer buffs including ignoring Cover with AP -1 and Damage 2. Damage 2 Flamer!!! 2nd Profile is a little more niche. You can instead use its alt profile which has a range of 36", D3 shots with Blast (Ugh...), but it has AP -3, Str 9 and Damage is a D6+2... Its Toughness is only 9 with 10 Wounds, but it does have a 4++ and a special ability that penalizes any units charge rolls with a -2 to the charge roll if they select the Tesseract Ark as their charge target. Plus it has the Flamer that genrates 4-9 auto hitting attacks if you think Overwatching might by a good idea... I have to start thinking about list design with the new Battleline rules. Also there are 4 Secret Missions you can choose if you are falling behind. You do suffer a lower max on primary points if you decide to choose a Secret mission which you do not reveal to your opponent. Its seems to be balanced around the fact there are only 4, so a smart opponent might be able to guess what you are doing. Funny enough one of the secret missions is to force your opponents Battline units so they are within their own deployment zone, or if you destroyed all their Battline units that works as well and lastly, if your opponent didn't bring any battleline units...your secret mission is an auto win. We definitely want to invest in both our Battline Line units. likely with the cheapest chracters that provide either durability or speed or both! Oh Hai Chronomancer! (This probably explains all the prior points increases from the last points update when they increased the Chronomancer by +15 points and the Technomancer +20, which also explains why they chose to increase the Technoamancer over increasing Wraiths with the new Mission rules. Basically your battleline units are going to act as operatives, so if I was to take the Awakened Dynasty, I might want to invest my points into taking models/Units that hit hard, while trying to take cheap characters that provide some form of durability. Now that I think about, I might try taking a Ghost Ark with 10 Warriors with Trazyn for the Sticky Objectives. Transcendent C'tan might be worth taking a look at with his advance and teleport ability, Deceiver might be another deent pick with his points cost still at 265 with his redeploy shenanigans. Imotekh is one of thoe characters that sometimes you dont want to waste any points on him since he doednt really support your units very well, but the extra CP will help when it comes to using Protocol of the Undying Legions for 1 CP in the shootijng phase and 1 CP in the Fight Phase which is why I suggest the Ghost Ark to help save some CP when it triggers Reanimation on any nearby Warrior units..AD is by nature a very CP hungry detachment with access to several useful Strats that trigger a 2nd bonus effect if you target a unit that has a character attached.
