This was amazing! My gal, while tries to play, is also very overwhelmed by all the rules and moving parts involved with the game. She however loves the look of the models and painting them. I feel just having her involved in the painting processes is very motivating for myself to complete projects. Painting together is a great way to spend quality time. I think where guys fail to bring their significant other into the hobby is that they don't play up the crafting side of it. They overwhelm their partner with nerdy lore talk, pages upon pages of rules, game play that makes no sense, etc... assembly, painting, and crafting terrain are a major part of our hobby. Not only is it a major part but many other hobbies use the same materials and techniques. Dollhouse, Trains, Canvas Painting, Woodcrafts, Holiday Decor, Floral Displays, etc...
@BroadswordWargaming4 жыл бұрын

As someone that paints every night, and only what I enjoy painting, F batch painting! There is nothing more fun sucking that repeating the same action on 15 to 20 units. Every single unit can have its personality and uniqueness, even if it's the same exact model. Also, great progress in 6 months, someone is a bit of a natural. As for playing Warcry, if you have 2 warbands and some terrain, the rules and cards, play a mock game against yourself. You'll get some things wrong at first but then the first time you play against someone else you will be more comfortable with the flow and the rules. That's what I did and now I teach people to play pretty quick.

I have cerebral palsy and paint Warhammer as well as board game minis as I have too many unpainted figures. It is a challenge keeping a steady hand but I enjoy the challenge of putting together and painting figures plus I find it theraputic. Ciara clearly has ability and talent, as well as a great teacher so keep up the good work. My biggest challenge is highlighting and doing faces. A lot of the time I use Army Painter Quickshade as it hides a lot of my painting mistakes, and watch guys like yourselves has made me attempt basing as well as zenithal highlighting with spray can primers. Thank you again for your informative and easy to understand videos.
@BroadswordWargaming4 жыл бұрын
Thats awesome, well done! 😀 Its so nice to hear you find the videos helpful! I think a zenithal and some washes is a great idea, it always gives a nice result. Out if interest (or as a suggestion), have you tried using an airbrush? You can get some nice shading and smooth paints on your models that way, could help with the process (and speed it up too). You can get top fed airbrushes with a cup lid to avoid spillage and just by using various shades or washes, you can create a lot of interest without needing a particularly steady hand. 😀
@chuckle0219754 жыл бұрын
@@BroadswordWargaming I have looked into an airbrush and it's something I am considering. I am learning slowly but surely on thinning paint and highlighting. Using Zombicide zombie hordes to start with means that I don't have to fiddle with glue and parts as they are usuallly one figure, but I do have WH40K stuff to put together and paint. The key thing though is to enjoy the process, and manage your expectations. If it's not fun to do ask yourself why, and make the adjustments needed to contyinue the hobby. It's a HOBBY after all so you should be doing it for fun.

i am also painting my armys model by model! yeah, it is not the most effektiv way of doing it. but it makes much more fun! and if you are playing games or armies with relative few models, it does not make that much difference. scirmish games or space marine armies have very few models so you do not get that much benefits from batch-painting. and even on larger armies like astra militarum or greenskins, the model by model approach could still work out. when i am more motivated to paint, i paint more often and finish sooner. BUT when painting is a PAIN-thing, when it makes me suffer, when i do not feel happy while doing it, i loose quickly the motivation to do it. and then it takes ages to finish projekts and armies. so better finish your force model by model and see it slowly growing than not growing at all.
