I needed this. I made it to the last boss and noticed my dps was poor on this one more than the rest and I needed to fix it. This literally answers all my questions, especially the Weak Auras. I had no points in Suppression and almost all Destruction. Had only Imp. No Master Channeler, which would have saved me big time. The quick pvp tip was awesome as well. Best guide and so trimmed down to what's important. The clear opacity of your chat frame would drive me nuts though. You must have perfect eye sight.

I’ve run both builds in bfd for me the chaos build is higher dps as it scales better from damage gear . The haunt build is great for 6th boss though. Plus chaos can’t get resisted

That's a great quick guide! I've been struggling to wrap my head around the lock playstyle in SoD becuase of all the rune and spec combinations, finally i'm able to understand it better. By the way, should i use a combination of lake of fire/everlasting affliction/shadowbolt volley with the runes mentioned in the guide in AoE'ing trash groups or should i stay on the ones you proposed? Is refreshing the corruption DoT matter that much instead of applying it manually?

Hey Sardaco, just curious. If you are putting your runes into incinerate and chaos bolt, why not go destro? I'm just curious, as a think the dmg from incin and bolt are really nice, and the globals being spent on dots is really weak. Ty in advance

Global on CoA = ~200dmg Global on Corruption = ~250 dmg Global on Drain Life = ~400 dmg 2sec cast Immolate = ~150 dmg vs 2.25 incinerate cast = ~140 dmg So each global spent on a DOT is very strong for the GCD. These all scale at 100% or higher with spell power. The destruction tree has is mostly mana reduction and crit chance. I guess one other thing to mention is 6% resist reduction which might be more worth it than anything else. Resist chance is crazy high for spells in the raid.

Hey bro might want to look into switching to Chaos Bolt rune on the turtle boss because the Turtle has the bubble and Chaos Bolt allows all your fire spells to pierce absorption effects like the bubble. You can switch back to haunt for the other bosses that involved more movement!

Does imp life drain increase the damage dealt? I thought the damage remained the same but you got bonus healing coming back. Are you taking 5/5 there just so you can tap more without stressing the healers? Also any chance you'll make a guide for warlock tanking? Gearing (I assume just go for max stam) rotation, spec?

It increases the damage, the bad thing about the talent is it increases the base damage, so it doesn’t scale with spell power, but being early game that doesn’t affect it as much.

You also want the added healing to take a bit of pressure off your healer too with the amount of life tapping you’ll be doing. It’s a nice added bonus I think

I would guess: - Shadowbolt if you have the mana - lifetap and Shadowbolt if you have the health - wand if both are low or if enemy will die soon and you want the mana regen

So I've been trying your spec for a week now. And this is bogus. I keep all my dots up and life tap., And my dps is still lackluster. Now that the raid has been nerfed. I wouldn't be surprised if the boomkin does more then us now... I need help, I want Affliction to be good. We don't compete against hunters and ferals. Is this the best warlocks can do? And thats why you have 100 parses? Hopefully Affliction gets better next phase. Been playing Affliction for a while, and I'm happy its actually usable in raids.

Just a though: Why go full 5/5 Corruption? Theres a GCD of 1,5 sec anyways so 2 points should be enough. That way you get the occasional 50% dmg% on CoA + 4% flat dmg in CoA? :)

CoA damage isn’t great at 25, so those talents don’t add much damage. The extra points in corruption is just so that it’s instant cast that you can do whilst moving - less important in raids but it’s a good QOL in PvP and solo
