More of this, Stu! Love to see how you winterize tanks as well. Was going to “finish” my Normandy collection and stop, but damn, I’d like to have a winter game too.

Thank you, will definitely add winter tanks on my to do list 🙂

I’m playing around with some AK snow sprinkles on a Warhammer Chaos army this week, but I’d like to get a few more to compare.

@@MiniatureRealms ohh sounds fun, I can imagine layering the right snow effects on top of one another can take an army project up a couple of levels - probably difficult to get the balance of white right tho without washing out all your hard work.

Lovely tints to the white! I think these models serve as a great canvas for experimenting with white

There's some historical inaccuracies in the color choices. But still some very useful information on how to get good shading on white.

I've seen quite a few people add in white paint to their snow fllock mixes to prevent discolouration. I know theres also other products available now that do not discolour over time.. i think was an AK product but i cant remember too well.
@MiniatureRealms16 күн бұрын
I’ve tried that before and it certainly helps a bit. Shortly after this video I tried one of the AK Snow products on a Warhammer The Old World army, found it very good.

Great job not a fan of painting white so happy to try this , I got a look at these sprues at Britcon, they look like they are some of the best yet. I have played Bolt Action, but not in a big way, but I am a fan of 28 mm figures and vehicles.

These look amazing. I didnt think that level of detail was possible on these minis. A great job well done. However i was wondering if there was a slightly simplified version of these? I dont get much time paint but i have these now from the starter set and wanted give them a go. Can you give a description on how to get a close view to this? Could i prime white or wraith bone no black first? Then use contrast paints for rest? Militarium green? Stormfiend blue? Cygor brown? I have skeleton horde already Would i need templar white and contrast medium? Apothecary white? Probably to all? Apologies long post first time with bolt action models. I can paint 40k fairly well. Thanks in advance for any reply!³

Thank you 🙂 You could absolutely cut the stages down quite a lot. I’d personally spray white, that will give you the most versatile and best results from the contrast style whites and sepia paints. After that those other colours would work well also.

Great vid, always struggle with white so will try this approach. Have u tried valhallan blizzard for snow basing? Am thinking of trying that as am planning winter bases for my dwarves

I’ve not tried yet no, might be worth giving it a go.

Hi Stuart, I watched another YTer yesterday - kzbin.info/www/bejne/raXWqWmuarF6pqM - who bought some el cheapo paints to test. This was my comment: 'I've just thought (yeah I do need a lie down now *LOL*). Maybe the ones that aren't very opaque would do as contrast paints as you're /supposed/ to be able to see through them? With the cost of Citadel, Vallejo, and Army Painter contrast paints being so high, that's pretty good: Citadel Contrast 38.83 ppml Army Painter Speed 30.56 ppml Vallejo Xpress 19.4 ppml So 1.6ppml against contrast paints is a hell of a saving!' What do you think? Could the cheap paints that don't cover work as contrast paints?
@MiniatureRealmsАй бұрын
Potentially, though I think there’s a lot more to it than just low pigment, but could work. Not sure I’ll be trying it though 😅😂

Fallschirmjäger not FallSchrimjager... No worries, still a good Video 😀
@OPBPanzerBricksАй бұрын
Wher "Fall" refers to falling and "schirm" can be translated with umbrella (or screen)... ... which is quite funny i think.
@MiniatureRealmsАй бұрын
Cheers don’t know how that extra capital letter squeezed in there.

@@MiniatureRealmsyou also wrote schrim instead of schirm and missed the e or dots in Jäger/Jaeger. With three spelling mistakes in one word you really butchered that one. ;-) At least you made up for it by making a great video 👍
