Hi Peachy. Just wanted to say thank you for another awesome video. I've watched your videos from the GW days and since you've gone off on your own I think it's awesome. Been painting for 20 odd years and do it more these days to help with my Ptsd and anxiety from my time in Iraq. Can I just say thank you. Small sidenote though; even lego and plastic drunking bottles will lose little flakes of plastic over time that end up everywhere, even inside us. So you are right in that single-use plastic is worse, other plastics unfortunately also cause problems.

Sb who worked recycling told me at least here in Austria most plastics aren’t recycled cause… you guessed it, not profitable. My German mother has been sorting up to three kinds of plastic since the nineties, only for most of it being burnt or buried. So if „we“ don’t want to socialize everything, we at least should consider to cut down on our plastic use drastically.
@Hatypus3 ай бұрын
Almost all kinds of plastic shed microplastics which can be incredibly damaging themselves. Indeed, a lot of pollution of glacier areas is microplastic fragments from jackets and coats. But in this case, the pollutive matters is more the avoidance of shipping huge distances from the cheapest manufacturing places.

Really like the green and red combo on the Knome Peachy! Never thought about doing green skin before. Wonder if it would "pop" more if you tried a shade of light purple for the robes and some light brown or white fur around his wrists/ankles? The Dwarf Hammerer looks super. As you said you cant beat a silver; blue and gold scheme, its always a winner. Glad you not only had a great time with the minis but also liked the packaging. We spent a lot of time trying to keep the premium look and feel, while also making everything biodegradable/recyclable. Enjoyed reading through everyone's comments/criticisms, we are taking it all on board and trying to improve as much as possible! Fantastic video as always. Thanks again - Andy.

@MrCrystalwarrior13 ай бұрын
Just a quick note for all the eco-friendly people out there. Glossy magazines and box art contain chemicals that are non-biodegradable, so plain brown cardboard packaging and monotone (Black and white) illustrated paper cover sheets are much more eco-friendly, as they can be recycled or used to make pieces of scenery (Creative recycling/upcycling), or kept simply to store your hobby items/tools in. LOVE this video, as I am a huge Dwarf fan for many decades now, and may just buy this game just for the beautiful minis themselves, as they look like a joy to paint. Not much of a fan of cleaning up minis, I have to admit, but it's worth it in the end, when you see your paint schemes come to life as you go along. Thanks again, Peachy, for another inspiring tutorial/review 🙂

The impact of plastic production of models all across the world is extremly small, comparing to stuff like transport fillers, bags or plastic cord used to secure stuff. People with plastic models shouldn't feel too bad. And for the full victorian box expiriance it should have either and inlay or isolation paper. Coloured light blue or green , with the tone and depth of the paint being dependant on how strong the arsenic paint was.

the plastics in miniatures are not actually much of an issue. plastics in clothes, plastics in tyres and "disposable" plastic packaging are the biggest offenders for plastic pollution. those introduce microplastics into the environments. your minis you put in your display case release close to 0 microplastics, especially compared to a single load of laundry.

Like you, opening this box really felt special - I REALLY loved the smell, opening the envelopes that contained the wood-cut tokens. there was something about it, I don't know what. Electric vehicles have their own issues... It's not just plastic that is basically "petrol" either, a lot of wood products use hydrocarbon based glues. Also any ideas for cost effective tufts? If I were to base an army with a couple to each base if need a fair few of this blister packs worth
@PeachyTips3 ай бұрын
So silver bayonet is pretty much use what you want, you could even use GW fantasy miniatures and play Mordhiem with it, but yes do what you will. From a tufts pov, most companies do cost a fair wack, but you could always buy a bag/tub of static grass and use that, check my silver bayonet paintguide for applying said grass to minis with super glue. There is also a piece of kit that you can make you own tufts, I need to look into it more, but it’s basically grease proof paper with pva glue, static grass sprinkled on and the an electric charge runs through and turns them into tufts….magic, in the long run that’ll be more cost effective

Hey, my apologies I need to be better at mentioning that, it was Hyrax Brien from colourforge, a close match to citadels dryad bark paint

I am actually thinking seriously about using plastic junk and spruce leftovers to make terrains and minatures. Because i've been "contaminated" by Gaslands and Turnip 28 spirit. There's actually a miniature competition for Turnip28 where you have to build a behemoth named "the lump". And it's an amazing way to create something new from different materials (and have a more environmental friendly approache to our hobby). On my side i've choosed to use an old resin model from a friend's garden to make some kind of armored war animal. So in my opinion to make a "cleaner" hobby is to choose a better game system and try to think out the box. Thank you for such interresting videos !

I totally love your approach! It's your hobby and there's no reason you can't make awesome terrain and models using reclaimed materials! Nothing goes in our recycling bin without me first checking with Peach if he can use it for something, it's amazing what you can make using your imagination! Luv Mrs Peach 🍑
