The background music although relevant, is super distracking. I appreciate your sharing these technics.

This is great, but don't necessarily need the subject track in the background every minute where mixing isn't happening. A little overkill

glad I wasn't the only one. It's hard to context switch between the mix and the background music every time he's not showing the mix screen.

Derek Babanin thank you Derek! I’m using the same speakers I’ve had for 13 years now!! Haha. There are definitely later and greater on the market but I’m just comfortable with these still. My “full range” speakers are JBL4328s. My mid-range focus is old Yamaha NS10s. I came up on them and can’t imagine working without them. Lastly, I have a second set of old super mid focused auratones. I keep them right beside each other over to the side so I am essentially hearing Mono when I check them. Typically I will make most of my preliminary EQ, balance and panning decisions on the full range speaker. When I am ready to start the adding vocals I switch to the Yamaha‘s and double check everything I have done to that point and use only the Yamaha’s for all vocal equalization and automation. I don’t listen long to the auratones, but for a minute or two here or there they can tell you quite a bit about how loud the center band elements are versus hard panned elements like electric guitars, acoustic guitars, orchestra, etc. sometimes in the sweet spot we fall victim to the “apparent” loudness of panning. It’s just a good double check for the actual loudness of the frequency range where we are most sensitive and most instruments live.

Awesome! Thanks Joe & Warm Audio. One suggestion / request Joe... can you add some highlight to / use a larger mouse cursor? It was hard to find where your cursor was on the screen in some cases. Love the content.... thanks so much!

Jason Uberig I honestly have no clue how to do that Jason 😂. I think there are little things like that that would be really good additions to the show though. Thanks for watching.

Hey Joe... I think you're using a Mac... here's one way to accomplish it (obviously you'd want to change it back for normal use :) ): www.bbc.co.uk/accessibility/guides/mouse_pointer/computer/mac/os_x/index.shtml

how long do you take to mix one song Joe ?
@InTheMixJoeCarrell
@InTheMixJoeCarrell 5 жыл бұрын
Magambo The Producer it really varies a lot. I love when I have the time and budget to do one song a day the best it can be (or at least that I can make it 😂). But very often i am required to do two a day to meet budget constraints.

Magambo The Producer Honestly nowadays rates can vary a lot. Label stuff versus Indie stuff. And there’s more low budget stuff than ever! I’m always open and willing to talk to anybody
