Hello David, I have just finished your free course called consistent cursive, and wanted to thank you for your amazing work. In just one month (45 min every day) I have improved my cursive handwriting drastically. Never thought that I would be able to get this beautiful and smooth a cursive handwriting from an online course in just one month. So again thank you very much for using time and effort in making an effective course all for free.

Just going to think of this as a sequel to the "We're going to figure out the lower case 'l'" video. Excellent l's. I'm still struggling with the upper loops, but as long as we're struggling, we're growing, I'm told. Always inspired by your penmanship.

I started the oval movement excercise as descriped in the book "the arm movemt method of rapid writing". I finished 10 pages "landscape" and i did not yet perfect it. Although the instructions of the book are to perfect it before moving ahead, should one practice writing alongside?

Yea, you'll want to move along and practice other things. The oval drill is something you'll spend a lot of time with over months and years of practice.

I think that the height of the small t's in this and other systems is a mistake, unpleasant to gaze upon, and makes no sense in comparison to l's, k's, h's, and f's. I wonder why this short t business was adopted, and will not accept that in my own writing. Anyone else find it unpleasant to look at?

Making the t or the d the full ascender height ruins the proportion of the letterform and looks childish. All the professional penman from that era that spend their lives writing and teaching script were not wrong about this.

@@PerfectBiscuits You may have a point! I have just looked at a few printed texts, and all have the t shorter than the tallest letters, something I never noticed before in all my life! I wonder if short t's are what started the current craze of women exposing their belly buttons?

How do you get the drills so neat? Mine are messy and go above and below the lines? Should I just go very slowly and try to keep it in the space?
