Good demonstration of electrical shorts. A lot of people's dont understand the danger of overloading a circuit.

Wow, there goes the airflow to the radiator. Unless they live in a cold climate, this could be an issue later.

i said the same thing as soon as i seen them set it in place. that winch is over kill for that jeep.

Really, I had a Jeep with a straight 6 that thing to get hot sitting at a red light and I didn't even have something blocking my entire Grill like this thing

Did I miss some? Where is the wiring of the winch?

Yea, that's what I wanted to see.

what size was the wire? and did you need a fuse for this winch?

we do that so the recovery strap wraps around the bumper from underneath and onto the hook. that way the strap has more beef to grab hold of, and if the bolts on the hook go, or the chassis tears off at that point, the snatch strap will throw the broken bits backwards into the car and the ground - not at the recovery vehicle towing them out. it definitely looks odd when you first see it though.

@@tombuckle9742 So every hook on every vehicle ever made is wrong? Dude your sense of humor sucks.

@@da1stuna not wrong, just another way of doing it. Great contribution though thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Have a great day.

Well they did it with out knocking the washers off but wont the jeep overheat because they just blocked off the radiator ?

Yes it does crawling in the woods

I have a big winch on my yj. Even with my turbo installation I’ve never hit 210 degrees. Not once. If your jeep is overheating you should probably figure out why. Mine runs just a hair over 180 on the gauge in the hottest weather.

Great video! I'm considering buying a Warn VR Evo 10s for my 2021 jeep gladiator but I have 1 concern or question. I want to hook the winch power, winch in, and winch out to my OEM auxiliary switches in my dash. I would be using x3 of the x4 switches included which x2 of them are rated for 40amp, and the other x2 are rated 15amp. From a wiring stand-point, would this work?
@voodoo15062 жыл бұрын
I connected the winch power to battery using a Warn solenoid switch, and that was wired to my aux switch bank, so I can turn it on/off from Inside. I operate the winch using the provided controller. Heavy winches flow in the 450 amp range, I don’t think those switches will work for operating the winch itself.

i direct connect the motor its working fine both way, checked all 4 solenoid working (ticking and the multimeter beeping) what could be the issue?
