It was not a hollywood production, its considered an independent film. Even by Jackson myself, he says so in the commentary series.

The Academy just don't appreciate the Hobbit trilogy. How can't it be considered Hollywood when both Warner Bros (through New Line) and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer were financing it?

The song was originally written for The Hunger Games:Catching Fire. When it was turned down down by that franchise, the lyrics were changed and the rest became legend to LOTR fandom

My dad and I saw THE HOBBIT in the theater. He was never one for these types of movies, but he came anyway. I remember this song at the end during credits. It was beautiful. My dad passed away in 2017. I will always cherish the memory I had with him that day.

This is my Son's favorite song. He loves Ed Sheeran's voice. He is 24, with severe Autism, Nonverbal. He watches this song on repeat. I would love to take him to see him one day. I know he would love it. I think he finds Ed's voice very peaceful and calming. When he has a bad day, we listen to Ed Sheeran. Thanks for sharing. Be blessed.🌹

I don't know about anyone else but... for me, this is one of the best songs ever written for a movie track. Every lyric is about the movie and so captured the mood while still leaving you wondering about the next movie. Just fantastic and easily one of my favorites. Last time I was this moved by a song so perfect for a movie was Queen and The Highlander movie.

It's really funny because I watched it tonight and the lights turned on a second after the last scene faded out and I bitched about it for fifteen minutes - and my friend thought I was nuts. After that I went directly home, listened to this song in peace and after that started reading these comments - and this was the first one I saw. Thank you so much for understanding. I think he would've liked the Hobbit to be a bit more playful, it's a tale for children originally, the motion picture is like an action movie.
@location201
@location201 11 жыл бұрын
zethgb It was very action packed but it did have those moments. The moments where it didn't get your heart racing but touched it and made you feel very in touch with the characters emotionally. Also while it started of as a story for his children, like all of his stories did, they were touched by the more difficult and horrifying aspects of his life. The marshes for instance in Lord of the rings was inspired by his time in the trenches as a soldier.

Lyrics Oh, misty eye of the mountain below Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke Keep watching over Durin's sons If this is to end in fire Then we should all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night Calling out father oh Stand by and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on The mountain side And if we should die tonight Then we should all die together Raise a glass of wine for the last time Calling out father oh Prepare as we will Watch the flames burn auburn on The mountain side Desolation comes upon the sky Now I see fire Inside the mountain I see fire Burning the trees And I see fire Hollowing souls I see fire Blood in the breeze And I hope that you remember me Oh, should my people fall Then surely I'll do the same Confined in mountain halls We got too close to the flame Calling out father oh Hold fast and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on The mountain side Desolation comes upon the sky Now I see fire Inside the mountain I see fire Burning the trees I see fire Hollowing souls I see fire Blood in the breeze And I hope that you remember me And if the night is burning I will cover my eyes For if the dark returns Then my brothers will die And as the sky is falling down It crashed into this lonely town And with that shadow upon the ground I hear my people screaming out Now I see fire Inside the mountains I see fire Burning the trees I see fire Hollowing souls I see fire Blood in the breeze I see fire (oh you know I saw a city burning out) (fire) And I see fire (feel the heat upon my skin, yeah) (fire) And I see fire (uh-uh-uh-uh) (fire) And I see fire burn auburn on the mountain side Written by Ed Sheeran • Copyright © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC, Universal Music Publishing Group

Lynxchillin08 "90% of the entertainment comes from the USA" Think about that statement for a minute. Do you have any idea how much entertainment is put out around the world that does not come from the US? 90% of the entertainment that YOU watch may come from the USA, but to say that the rest of the world only produces 10% of that entertainment is ignorant.

I don't particularly like Ed Sheeran, but this song is beautiful in the context of this film. Perfect way to end the movie. I love Middle Earth so much, I don't want the films to stop.

I don't think the films are going to stop after this one, Like it totally left ' us ' the watchers hanging.....At the end of the movie that is. And I think this song just fits the movie so much.....But I still don't know why.....Great song xoxox :3

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke Keep watching over Durin's sons … If this is to end in fire Then we should all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night Calling out father, oh, stand by and we will Watch the flames burn on and on The mountain side … And if we should die tonight We should all die together Raise a glass of wine for the last time Calling out father, oh, prepare as we will Watch the flames burn on and on The mountain side … Desolation comes upon the sky … Now I see fire Inside the mountain I see fire Burning the trees And I see fire Hollowing souls I see fire Blood in the breeze And I hope that you'll remember me … Oh, should my people fall in Surely I'll do the same Confined in mountain holes, we got too close to the flame Calling out father, oh, hold fast and we will Watch the flames burn on and on The mountain side … Desolation comes upon the sky … Now I see fire Inside the mountains I see fire Burning the trees And I see fire Hollowing souls I see fire Blood in the breeze And I hope that you remember me … And if the night is burning, I will cover my eyes For if the dark returns then, my brothers will die And as the sky's falling down, it crashed into this lonely town And with that shadow upon the ground, I hear my people screaming out … And I see fire Inside the mountains I see fire Burning the trees I see fire Hollowing souls I see fire Blood in the breeze … I see fire Oh, you know I saw a city burning out (fire) And I see fire Feel the heat upon my skin (fire) And I see fire Uh (fire) And I see fire burn on and on the mountain side
