i'm so blessed to be one of the vocalists on that stage as part of the Morgan State University choir. this was the most important piece i ever performed with them and i will be forever grateful. it's beautiful, soulful music from beginning to end and a wondrous interpretation of our history. thank you, Hannibal Lokumbe for all that you give us!!

I saw this in Philly with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Stunning. A truly memorable composition and performance.

I'm so glad I got to go to high school where Hanible would just pop in, now and then.

What was he like? I don't think he'll be in Japan anymore, so I'd like to ask someone who has actually met him some questions as a Japanese fan.

If motzart were alive today I know he would be hanging out in harlem. That hit me across the face. Marivin Petersen is a great artist and he strives to be unknown yet he is great in so many circles. This work is lost to me. The Cd I owned got so scratched it is useless now. I first heard him on Prime cuts on MPBN. This work is hard for most people to listen to because it jumps thru history. But its tackles a really direct subject of the african american dream.
