It certainly looks like it was laid out a bit eccentrically, and it looks challenging to walk around in, but it's still fascinating to see. If it is still open for new burials, I wonder how in the world they would get in there to do it. Still, the very horrible thing to see are those poor skeletons just lying around like they were just tossed aside. It just makes me feel mostly sad. Thank you for all your efforts to get around and show us this old cemetery.

I do not fear death, what I fear is dying painfully. Once you're dead, it's over. In my lifetime of 57 years, I've watched many people die in front of me. As a child, my grandmother (who raised me) worked in a nursing home. I visited there often, and the patients were delighted by me being there. However, some would just expire while I was talking to them. I kinda got used to it at a young age. In my 30s, my first wife lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer, and I held her hand as she took her final breath. That one broke me. Less than a decade later, my grandmother also died in front of me. I was remarried by this time, so at least I wasn't left completely alone. I can't even count the number of people I've seen go. But I don't fear death, because of that. I only fear dying a painful death.

I LOVE to see these old tombs looked after by living Family. Seeing new roofs put on them, new grave markers and new locks on the doors. It means that the Family has not died out and they are looking after their kindred dead, as it should be. Keeping our forefather's grave sites clean, well maintained and protected is the responsibility of the Living Family Members. Every year, I would go to my Matriarchal Grand Mother, and Grand Father's graves to keep them, clean them, as well as My Patriarchal Grandparent's graves as well, and all other grave sites of Family including my Infant Brother, who died at birth, wo we had thought lost, but was thankfully discovered, and was originally just a numbered Grave, but we had a proper Granite Grave Stone made, and we were able place it on his Grave after 57 years of thinking the records were lost of his Grave location after a fire ripped through the on-site grave keeper's building. It wasn't until we managed to finally find someone who was deep inside the city's records office that we discovered a copy of those lost records! So, our Family is active in making sure the graves of our Kindred Dead are taken care of, even after the passing of our mother on a few years ago, we still take trips out to the family's graves, remotely located nearly 6 hours away, some 550 kms from our current family location. And this still being a relatively small drive compared to the vast expanse of Canada's land mass. there are even further family graves locates an additional 500kms away in practically the center of Canada. From Calgary, my Home city, to Wymark, Saskatchewan where my Maternal Grandparents are buried, is a greater distance that Ireland at its widest point. In Alberta, my home Province between Calgary, my home city, and Edmonton, where I currently reside, the distance is so large that we can fit the entire country of Netherlands with plenty of space left over. Canada is wider across than the Continental USA, and it would take 9 days, if a person were to land in Newfoundland, and drive across the country, at highways speeds 110 km/hour without stopping, except for fuel and NOT for sleep meaning you would need to have multiple people in the vehicle and drive in Shifts, to make it across Canada in 9 days. A pretty sad way to Visit Canada. The reason why I say this is because most Europeans had little idea just how big Canada and the USA really are, a friend of mine has family in Amsterdam, and they wanted to fly to Toronto, for Lunch and then drive to Edmonton Alberta, and be there for Evening that same day, until we told them that it was physically impossible, and they were going to try and call us as a bluff, until they looked it up on the internet themselves, and decided to fly to Edmonton, which was still an hour away from their Farm, at highway speeds 110 km/hour. Their minds were blown clear out of their heads when they arrived over Canada, landed in Toronto and transferred to another plane and flew for another 8 hours over Canadian land before Reaching Alberta, which is roughly 1100 km from the west coast. Let me share with you this official math equivalency between Ireland and Canada. Ireland covers approximately 84,421 km sq.; Canada has 9,984,670 km sq. which means Canada is 118.272 x larger than Ireland. And only a miniscule amount of Canada is actually lived in and populated by Canadians, because of the short summer seasons and how cold Canada gets in the Wintertime. Even in today's level of technology, The Alaska Highway that runs from Montana up through Alberta, Northern British Columbia, Southwestern Yukon Territory, then into Alaska, has parts that are STILL gravel road, because of how harsh winters here are on paved roads. even in Canada, most roads require at least a 10 to 12 feet of engineered underpinning to keep the road from suffering from massive Frost heaves and destruction by water freezing under the pavement. and this is inside of the cities along the southern portion of Canada, Northern roads are the most difficult to maintain from one year to the next, let alone over long term. Most of Canada is Boreal Forest and untouched by civilization, that is why Canada is such a crucial contributor to Declining Carbon numbers because of just how much of Canada is untouched by Humanity, not even Russia has as much untouched land as Canada does. Native communities rely upon air transportation year-round, and river boat transportation in the summer months just to get the basics of life carried to them from the northern most cities, of Which Edmonton is the Largest. SO yeah, Canada is BIG, and although Russia is bigger, they have less Boreal Forest than Canada, because of the steppes and vast grasslands of Eastern Siberia. I digress though. I just wanted you to know just how vast a territory Canada truly is, and how important it is to our Family that we travel out to Family Gravesites that are 1100km drives both ways to take care of our Kindred dead's grave sites. I wish everyone felt as much about their family's graves, to ensure that they never degrade to the level we constantly see in your videos, where it is easy to look inside and see the sorry state of the tombs and the coffins inside. and I would go into those tombs and properly clean them up and create proper ossuaries for the bones of the departed so they can continue to lay indignity until the day of resurrection comes for all of us. I know that many families have either died off, or otherwise live so far away that they do not even have any clue these graves belong to their families, which absolves them of any blame, but for those that care not for the graves of their kindred, but let them crumble to dust because of lack of maintenance , Responsibility lies with them to do something about it. at least SOME effort could be put towards their upkeep if not financial. Just so that those who have passed along so long ago can continue to rest knowing Family is doing their level best to keep their graves from being desecrated by opportunists who think it a cool thing to own someone's skull. Without thinking that grave robbing is a mortal sin! Or even worse grave and deadly sin committed by those who invade the sanctity of a grave to rob it for evil purposes such as ceremonies to the father of lies and his servants. Such sins place their souls in a position that they could suffer from the second death, the worst thing to befall any soul to ever have lived a mortal life here on Earth. May God have Mercy upon their souls.

I'm going to be cremated, however; if I were to build a crypt, it wood be at a dry spot on level ground. I would have the walls made of granite blocks on a thick compacted dirt surface covered in 12" thick concrete. I would have my coffin on a solid concrete platform at least 24 inches thick, and off the ground. It would also include floor level drainage out all four sides. The roof would be an arch design of solid granite bricks. If you have ever seen Roman era arches, when properly done last for thousands of years. Concrete roof can't last for long at all. They inevitably always fail eventually.

Often they used the materials native to an area for construction. There may have been a slate quarry around there? I am not surprised seeing deteriorated wooden coffins in crypts exposed to the air. With all the greenery around there it must rain alot. A wooden coffin doesn't stand a chance. Here in the U.S., metal burial caskets are popular and most cemeteries require vaults for ground burials. A properly embalmed body will last for decades and maybe decades more. I know of exhumations after 20-30 years are the bodies looked like they were buried yesterday.

Just the idea of seeing the bones under gravestones in a cemetery gives me the creeps. I recently visited a cemetery in Brussels where some tombs had collapsed but no remains could be seen. I live in Germany and here such types of burial have been banned for so long that even the few crypts that date back to the time before the ban should no longer have any visible remains. (I believe crypt burial is only permitted for urns with ashes, but im no expert for that.) I don't want to decide whether this is a good bad thing because in the neighboring countries like Belgium there are really impressive tombs but I find it strange to be able to see the remains when there is no one left to look after them.
