3 years back open 200k account with TD. on advice from those online sgp gurus. Now down to 50k. if they shut me earlier I would have saved over 100k from losses. Those who still have money left please exit and close also your sgp guru courses

can somebody help me with this withholding tax. I sold UNG for about 20k and TD ameritrade withhold 10 % or about 2.2k for this tax as I am a Singaporean. When I checked this thread and found there is an exemption for company with qualified notice, I found UNG company has a qualified notice exemption on their website. With this evidence I call and asked TD why they are withholding my money for this tax. The answer I got is the tax are paid to IRS in US already and I can apply to them for a refund if I dispute it. This is most unfair for a foreigner asked to approached IRS in US. Can somebody advise me what to do? Could this scam be the reason they are closing sgp accounts??

Is this only for Td Ameritrade Singapore or also for the US one? Can't I just make the US one and transfer the assets there?

Don’t think so. I’m still with TD Ameritrade after transfer. I use TOS to login to TD Ameritrade USA. The integration with Schwab will take place next year they say.

For non-accredited investors, if you don't withdraw by Dec, it'll cost you $150 in maintenance fees + forced liquidation of all your assets + possible withdrawal/remittance fees. Where else typically it's free to maintain an account

TD Ameritrade is closing customers accounts for depositing too much cash. This is not the only bank closing customers accounts. Not good!
