Brandon wrote this song for Diana...he's basically produced and written many of her original pieces. Diana is 20 and this wasn't a game show. It's a New Year's Eve performance in some Dinner club. Find her more recent stuff. You're missing out on tons of goodness. In My Huge City, the DUNE movie Soundtrack in front of a full orchestra and Baikal (her original score from the Russian movie 'The Spirit of Baikal') are all recent and mindbogglingly spectacular. Greetings from Scotland! December 17, 2023 and Diana was 20yo here. You got her name pretty close now! Even her mum describes Diana as "A Russian girl with a complicated surname and a divine voice" Perfect description! This song, for me is the most beautifully emotional song Diana has ever sung. The duet was the way to go, Brandon wrote it specifically for Diana as a solo after all. It is beautiful as a solo by Diana too though! It demonstrates how her range keeps getting wider and wider - is there a maximum? With Diana, who knows? Incidentally, Brandon and Diana are solid friends since she was 15yo. Brandon produces many of her songs and has written many songs for her. I guess they record so often, he just got used to going through the lyrics with her. He's a great guy honestly. If you want to hear her belt - that is, if you want to hear belting on an absolutely stratospheric level(!) you should react to her live performance, with full orchestral and electric band accompaniment, of "Paul's Dream" from Hans Zimmer's soundtrack for the film Dune. She gave two performances. One was in St Petersburg but the one to go for is not that, but rather it is the one in Moscow. It is posted on her second channel "Diana Ankudinova Life."

Мне кажется, что не стоит столько внимания уделять тому, что Брендон проговаривает губами слова, которые поёт Диана. Эта песня написана НЕ как дуэт, исполнение её дуэтом по сути импровизация, вряд ли у них была возможность досконально отрепетировать своё выступление, и чтобы не пропустить момент своего вступления Брендон и проговаривает про себя текст, который в это время поёт Диана. Кстати, в дуэте с Юлией Паршутой Диана делала то же самое, поскольку они так же пели песню изначально не рассчитанную на дуэт и без репетиций. Есть и ещё нюанс: Брендон автор текста и музыки.

Brandon Stone (which is a stage name, not his real name) is originally from Georgia (the country in the Caucasus, not the US state) which was, from 1921-1991, one of the republics in the USSR. In his teens Brandon's family moved to Germany, where he trained as a jazz musician. There is a professional golfer from South Africa also called Brandon Stone - this might cause the confusion. A bit similar to the confusion between Tom Holland the actor and Tom Holland the historian and author, who seem to get each others tweets and emails.

A belt comes from how loud and high you can push your chest voice. The higher notes are head voice or falsetto. I love those high notes as well because they are at such opposition to her regular singing range. She has worked very hard to extend her upper range. To be able to sing that high that clear that loud without losing control is an amazing achievement.

Okay time for me to critique your critique of "The Day You.." which I recommended to you. I knew you would love the song. I did not suspect that you would be offput by the composer of the song who wrote it for Diana, the man who has largely helped her as a producer, composer, and friend, him being about 45, married with children, and a famous singer of duets with many excellent european female singers. He is unknown to American, not to Europe. The logo on the screen is that of an important Russian TV channel. This was a live performance in a magnicent concert hall for New Year's. Dinner was served. I'm glad you enjoyed the song and the duet, but I think you went overboard with Brandon's lip movement. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but you don't need to spend five minutes talking about it as if it were a mortal sin. There was no jury in the audience, it wasn't a competition, and I'm absolutely certain that if anyone saw Brandon's lip movement, it didn't bother anyone. It was a New Year's celebration, and the audience wants to have some fun and joy, and experience a duet that they'll never forget, and that's the point, and those are my thoughts on it.

В зале не было судей, это не было соревнование, и я абсолютно уверен, что никого не смутило движение губ Брэндона. Песня Брендона,которую он написал Диане,а в этот вечер надо было её спеть дуэтом,что они сделали вместе- и это было замечательно. Никто не делит эту сцену. Брендон очень помогает Диане и с аранжировками.

Брэндон поет "ты вошла в мой дом" (текст от мужского лица), а Диана поёт "ты вошёл в мой дом" (от женского лица) - на русском языке звучание этой фразы в исполнении мужчины и женщины разное (на английском звучит одинаково). Так что каждый исполняет свою партию: она в голос, он беззвучно - в песне женская и мужская партия
