Finally, I am so glad someone is calling out some of the underlying problematic behavior of the man featured on that Pop the Balloon episode. The moment I saw the screenshot of the man’s text message to the young lady who he picked, I said to myself what kind of enraged text message was that? Nobody even said anything about the fact that his text message responses (he shared screenshots on his IG) to her were problematic. He was literally enraged sending her paragraphs.

I have dealt with this before. In my younger years I used to over think things and immediately blocked or thought they were with someone else. Now I send another text message to make sure they were okay especially after a few days and he ended up being in the hospital from a seizure. Sometimes we have to realize life happens and anything can happen, but i definitely agree our first reaction is to think negative thoughts.

1:32:12 what I realised from listening to the exs point of view is that she is deeply insecure and seeks male validation on a high degree. It’s very interesting that she works in a female dominated workforce but wasn’t able to find a connection.. hmm. I can guarantee you that if she had any female friends, they would advice her otherwise just like her mother, but I bet she tells them that they are hating or brushing it off as them being jealous, hence her concluding to female friendships being too much ‘drama’. She had all of these male friends but she couldn’t crash there, or reach to her male besties for support. In her own words, she goes to work, her family home or to her own apartment. She’s lonely, hence why she let a man move into her house. She tries to dress it up on a vibe of ‘oooh his stuff is already here’. This is why I advocate for women to seek sisterhood! I have both male friends and female friends and the truth is there is nothing like support from your fellow sisters and this is an example of it. Abusive men prey on women who have no support and hate on the friend who is ‘cockblocking’ or talks into their gfs ear because they HATE when a woman has an advocate. The end!

I went through exactly this with my ex. I broke up with him because he gave his attention to everyone but me. A few months later, he reached back out, apologized, held himself accountable, and explained exactly where he went wrong to ensure I knew he understood why I was upset. Based on this, I cautiously gave him another chance and made it clear that he will need to show me the change. Things were okay initially, then he reached out to say that he was off the next day and would call me. The day came and went. I heard NOTHING. So the following day I texted and asked if he was okay and he said “yeah I’m fine” to which I replied “you said you were going to call me.” His reply was “sorry.” When I told him that just sorry isn’t acceptable, nothing. I called him a few hours later and he smiled as if he was happy to hear from me. I cussed his ass out and blocked him.

I wouldn't judge women with little to no female friends so harshly without understanding the story. There are women who have been hurt , betrayed, and mercilessly harmed by women. I would suggest at least learning the story first.
@LittleBlackBook916 ай бұрын
But would u judge a man with no male friends all female?
@nnena36316 ай бұрын
@LittleBlackBook91 That's two different things. I was speaking on a woman not having same sex friends. The direct comparison would be a man not having male friends. In which case, my response would be the same to get curious. Now to your question if he had all female friends: I would asses on a variety of factors. If hes completely straight, if he has a lot of female relatives like sister in which case sometimes the brother is grandfathered into the friend group, his level of attraction, his interactions with the friends, etc. Now, as the woman talked, it's clear her friends weren't real friends but her roster, which is VERY different. I believe aspects of her story, but I do think she's covering some aspects of the truth as well. Like him accusing her of cheating if you have a live-in boyfriend while entertaining your roster, you ARE CHEATING...smh🙄

Yes, I found it a bit odd that he made that blanket criticism of women with no friends. Maybe it's an age thing or a lack of lived experience. Why would a mental health coach instruct a potential client with unresolved issues to “sit on the bench and heal?” Their job is to keep their clients off the bench & actively engaged in planning strategies to heal & have positive outcomes in their current or future dating or marriage relationships. Handling mental health issues is not like playing a game. People may need coaches to help them develop & improve their emotional intelligence, their social, interpersonal, dating, and relationship skills with & without their partners, etc. They may be unable to set and achieve the goals that are necessary for them to heal & become mentally and emotionally fit if they are sitting alone on a bench? Some of the people in this video definitely need to participate in as many therapeutic exercises as possible including those interventions that are more intensive than mental health coaching.
@nik-at-nite6 ай бұрын
The problem is when you have a lot of issues that require you doing the work by yourself, but you want to date and mess up other people in the process. You’re in no position to date. Dating shouldn’t even be a thought. So go do your inner work by yourself, with God, a therapist, etc. That’s what “sit on the bench and heal” means.
@togo2africa6 ай бұрын
@@nik-at-nite Many people with mental health issues are already in a marriage or other types of relationships. Although their psychological issue may not be one that is the direct result of their relationship challenges, it can have a serious impact on it. There would not be as big a need for mental health professionals if people could merely sit on the bench and heal themselves. It would also be a severe threat to many of us if we led people to believe that they don’t need to seek care from a professional and can heal themselves. Many can benefit from the encouragement and support they can receive from coaches even though many of them are not formally trained, educated, certified, or licensed professionals and are not supposed to diagnose, treat, or provide therapy to clients.
