This is your best podcast yet. Please do more of this stuff that shows people the beauty of the sacrament of marriage and the natural best friendship between men and women. It’s the truth that the world needs, if we are to have any hope for our children

We women need to respect our husbands as well so we can receive love from them. I just learnt that. Even the Bible says it. It's hard to respect..

@@Mashfan6507 that's true and I don't blame you. But there are very few who are being to taught the righteous way. You just need to look a bit harder. For example in our parish surprisingly there are over 40 youth that are being raised right. They are all extremely active in the parish youth ministries.. there are very few in your age range though.. in our youth there weren't many in the parish.

@@Mashfan6507You sound really bitter and resentful towards women...definitely don't get married with that attitude. Marriage isn't a self centered relationship, so unless you are willing to sacrifice for your spouse and patiently work on the relationship, it's not for you.

@@Mashfan6507 why don’t you lose some weight then? Take some responsibility for yourself. Buddy, consider this tough love: There is a person who is responsible for ruining your life and your chances at happy relationships and fulfillment. That person is you. A resentment filled, blame-obsessed, fake-victim drowning in self pity and excuses, seething with hostility that rightfully repels potential partners, delusionally targeting podcasts and individuals with demonstrably happy marriages in order to attack them, and an absolute refusal to look at yourself and how very much you lack any of the virtue or gifts of the Spirit that would make you a loving husband to anyone. No matter how much you blame women and denigrate marriage, absolutely none of it will make you a better man or a happier person. Your only problem in life is you and the hateful mess between your ears. Take a good, hard look at yourself, straighten yourself out in confession, and spend a long time praying to the Lord to heal your gross immaturities and inability to take personal responsibility for your numerous character defects. And hopefully you’ll heal enough to become a virtuous, loving man with good things to generously offer to others. Feel free to not take this advice, but your misery is always refundable. So you might as well try to ask the Lord to radically change your real problem, which is YOU. God bless.

I wish more men would simply LEAD their wives in prayer with kindness and affection, their wives would follow them to the ends of the earth. Simple as that. What I see is this doesn’t happen. I have too many Catholic friends (mostly novus) who’s husbands never pray with them.

Our marriage became completely revolutionized when my husband and I started praying together first thing in the morning before even getting out of bed. Now he says he can’t live without it or feel right in his day if we can’t do it. It’s too important to him. And I would certainly follow him to the ends of the earth and beyond because this is the kind of devotion that just overwhelmed me with trust and gratitude ❤️

@@Seliz463 if only there were more homilies about men leading in prayer like Christ. It doesn’t have to devolve into a apologetic statement against feminism. Just a simple statement of fact: Christians pray with each other, snd the home is the domestic church should be lead in prayer by the spiritual head of the house.

@@marymary1877I went to a women’s marriage and family conference this last weekend and the speaker stressed the importance of spouses praying together. She said when women tell her their husband won’t lead, she said “that’s okay, then you lead. He probably feels awkward and uncomfortable. You lovingly show him how comfortable you are and how much you enjoy this time with him. Then maybe in a couple of weeks you ask him if he’d like to lead. If he says no, don’t make it a big deal, just cheerfully keep leading it yourself. If he says yes, make sure you tell him how much it means to you and how much you appreciate it. It’ll work itself out.” I thought this was great advice

There is something weird going on. People I know and love are having mental break downs in these past few weeks. It's not just you. Don't feel bad about leaning on your wife or those you love. We're in this fight together. As a first step, pray the Rosary as many times as it takes to breathe calmly, but do it! Do it every day! Don't listen to anything negative. No TV, people ot thoughts Ask Jesus and your Guardian Angel for help and then physically call anyone who you love for help. Secondly, stop eating oats of any kind. Get your blood sugar stable with protein of some sort. Only real food. Nothing processed. Thirdly, recognize that you are in a war. If you have not been to confession in a long time, do it asap. The devil is very legalistic and wants to argue for your soul. Don't give him the upper hand. You will win this. I'm praying for you! ❤

Gentlemen, your wives are stronger than you think. The middle class Victorian mindset of the coddled and perfectly sheltered woman is a false and unchristian vision of the gentleman. Be a Christian man and lead your wife into self-accountability, trust in and dependence on God (not just you), and the strength to face her fears and struggles (especially her emotional ones). Hold her to as high (but different, obviously) standards as you hold yourself.

Im not married, I havent even had my first girlfriend at almost 26 years old! How about some videos for us single guys struggling to find nice girls? I dont want to be a priest or monk or just permanently single (being single is a state of life, NOT a vocation!) I run and lift and do calisthenics, and I am starting to get more involved in church groups, but haven’t met anyone yet. Dating apps only led to matches that only resulted one date that led to nowhere that was very awkward for both of us (she was cute at least), and in cute girls sending unsolicited nudes or just wanting sexting, to just ghosting after a week or 2 of talking. What should I do? I lost faith in the power of my prayers, including the rosary, to help me find my future wife. I feel demoralized and not sure what to do. All this stuff for marriage and married people makes me feel like nobody in the church cares for Catholic singles because there’s an assumption that they’re automatically called to the priesthood or religious life if they arent dating or engaged by college graduation. I hate it honestly. All this stuff is good yes, but am I gonna need it later on? I’d like to imagine yes but Idk. I hate my situation.

Fifteen years ago I was in the exact same position as you. I spent my entire 20's feeling worthless because Hipster Catholics made me feel like I was worthless for being unmarried while the majority of them got engaged while in college, married shortly thereafter, and had kids in their 20's. Don't look to Hipster/Evangelical Catholics for answers on this if you don't want to demoralized. They can only be condescending and belittling. In fact, avoid most modern writers on issues of philosophy and theology. One of the best books you can read on Catholic theology and marriage is Bishop Sheen's "Three To Get Married," and also the writings of Dietrich and Alice von Hildebrand. In fact, the critiques of Christopher West-styled evangelical writings on sex and marriage from Alice von Hildebrand and Dawn Eden are an encouraging and uplifting read for anyone who yearns for authentic Catholic teaching on the subject: www.ewtn.com/catholicism/library/dietrich-von-hildebrand-catholic-philosopher-and-christopher-west-modern-enthusiast-10064 dawneden.blogspot.com/2010/06/papists-pick.html?_sm_au_=iVV6ssT6nZsZS23ML321jK0f1JH33 You are correct to work on yourself. Lift weights, get plenty of sleep, eat whole foods and get outdoors as much as you can. Don't lose faith. Look for a Latin Mass community if you can find one. They will have large families but without the giant-family brand-identity of evangelical Catholic organizations. Consider dating outside of Catholic circles if you need to, especially mainline Protestants. Women can be persuaded by your faith if you are persistent but do not overdo it. The sex imbalance in Catholic circles is enormous. Do not take the success of the few men and use it as a barometer of your self-worth. Please leave some contact info if you would like to have an ongoing conversation on this.

@@Mashfan6507that is what a bitter man will say. You say you're happy, yet disrespect all women by saying they're shallow. Do you know every woman? I realize your wife had medical issues where she couldn't have sex but three years? ( wasn't there something she could have done for you?) I guess you got to do what you got to do, and It's one thing if you're in your 70's and you're not getting much sex, but when your in you're 20's & 30's and not getting it that's tough. You can say what you want about sex , but I think it is honest the glue that keeps the marriages together me and my wife have always had a great sex life even after kids and before. We've been married for 38 years now. And still have a great sex life in her sixties . I think sometimes Catholics feel if they have a great sex life in their marriage they're sinning. I always hear people say your sex life is a small part of a marriage, but what I say to them is they probably don't have a very good sex life then? I have a feeling your wife probably wasn't really into sex before kids because doesn't sound like it was priority for her. Did it more out of obligation for you.
