i wanna make the babies for the bassist. mad respect on the rather difficult rickenbacker fret board. not a small task for a relatively small person. keeping the beat like she's in the raincoats or the slits covering the glove. oh comparisons are fraught with inevitable subjectivity.. i will simply state that i am well impressed.

I just discovered them and the only thing I don't like is a lot of songs sound very similar. The songs kind of bleed into each other to where to concert is like one big song. But yes, they are a great band.

+Kel B All intellectual music sounds the same to people who are dumbed down, kind of like how shitty modern pop hits all sound the same to more musically-inclined people.
@leonherperger405510 жыл бұрын
this shit has all been done. cite any goth band of the 80's and this shit has already been done. what's sad is that Souixsee and the Cocteau twins never defined this sound, which they rightfully own. the hipsters nowadays have no idea about culture in the early 90's, which makes me deem bands such as this as posers
@PaulKirtley10 жыл бұрын
If Siouxsie (correct spelling) and the Cocteau Twins didn't define this sound, then why do you bring them up? You could also throw The Cure in there too for good measure. Listen further and you might hear a Jah Wobble influence in Jenny's bass playing and even detect a James Hetfield influence in Emily Kokal's guitar sound. Some of us who were around in the 80s and 90s, have listened to a hell of a lot of music from many different genres and can still appreciate Warpaint for what they are.
@Soul18One10 жыл бұрын
All music has been done already...don't be idiot dude...Mozart has done everything. :)
@6metalhead910 жыл бұрын
I don't think any musician would have the gall to say that they "rightfully own" a particular sound. Every musician is influenced by the music they listen to and admire, and those influences come out in whatever they produce. Furthermore, having such an influence on a fellow musician that their art reflects yours in someway, is easily one of the biggest compliments you can receive. I do agree that there are alot of poser fans out there who latch on to what's popular and think that it's wholly original, but I think the musicians don't deserve any scrutiny unless they're blatantly plagarizing another musician with no originality. Warpaint is definitley not one of those bands.
@ZonRuc10 жыл бұрын
well this is a rather sad comment to read... music is perpetually evolving... don't get caught in your own subjectivity :)
