From what I’m seeing, I’m the only one not calling this a contender for SOTY? Anyone else in the same boat? 🤔

You should check their first album, symphonic melodic blackened deathcore. Then some more deathcore songs in the old souls album with some riffy metalcore songs

From what I can tell, Alex is singing the chorus with Sean in unison as a fully clean layer, and going back and forth screaming on a few other parts.

I really like that those small electronic sounds change the feel of the whole song. I wish somebody drowns the guitars in "crystalline" electronic once, so it will sound beautiful and unique at the same time. There's a band called Angel Number that does some really unique shiet, i hope we'll have a Metalcore band like that

Great song indeed, like people say its a grower but for me personally my top songs of the year are never really "grower" songs, these are the ones that hit different from the first second to the last on first listen ( my SOTY being Without a Whisper just because the impact it had on first listen ) Its funny and actually cool to see different reaction channels having a different take on new metal songs lately, good to see other perspectives! Like the Humanity Last Breath song for you ( and me ) was amazing, Metalbirb found it to be good as well but on not that big of scale, and for this Make them Suffer song its the opposite. I like the diversity in the metal reaction channels! Like this we know you all are honest about your opinions and dont have the need to follow hype :D cheers Drew!!

That “pew pew” noise you mentioned also reminded me of Northlane’s “4D” intro. I don’t necessarily love this but also didn’t hate it. Seems like a safer single for them. Doomswitch is still better imo.

I really like the track, but also really respect your well-stated criticism! I was definitely surprised at all the aspects of this track that seem to follow Doomswitch, from the style of the video to the lyrics about being disappointed in someone to the (admittedly very cool) Space Invaders laser sounds. Felt like familiar ground, to be sure, and not a very bold choice for a second single.

MTS have never focused 100% on female member, they have a bunch of tracks just fully with the harsh vocals, and also Alex does the synth work besides vocals as well as Booka did, so i am glad they put some variety with Sean's scream-singing, love Alex' harsh vocals as well and very happy that they do not sell this as 100% woman member highlight. But at the same time i agree that this track specifically is not SOTY at all and even weaker than Doomswitch, but nonetheless it is decent work

You all should be watching through (you know, reacting) once and THEN pausing and speaking about the parts you have something to say about the second time through so there is at least SOME familiarity with the music AND context to what you're talking about (I know you do it through editing, but you could save yourself that hassle). Like, is this video is 10 minutes because it's a clean video length or because it needed to be? I'd rather it be 10 minutes because it needed to be, personally.
