When I was a kid, my Mom and Grandmother always stopped in the middle of the day to watch "their stories"- soap operas. Never could understand what they saw in them. Now, here I am, 45 years later, thrilled to death when Mike Less uploads a "story" for me! LOL. Thanks Mike! 🙂

Great video Mike I really enjoy this video love that shot of them opening up the field. And how well the trucks were keeping the harvester busy and not stopping. Mike I always love your videos plenty of action in them . Keep up the good work. I always loved chopping corn silage. I miss those days so much and the smell of fresh cut corn silage nothing like that smell. GOD BLESS MIKE THANK YOU FOR THESE VIDEOS VERY ENTERTAINING.

Looking at the ground and corn stocks it looks like the crop had enough moisture to grow what was there and that was it.

I am just amazed at all of coordinating that goes on to make the silage into feed. The timing of the big rigs and the combining tractor driver aiming the auger. That is incredible. No wonder why I like Mike 👍. Thanks for sharing. Happy subscriber 😊!

Van der kinter does most of Milk Source's chopping also. The owners of that business has about 75 thousand animals in Missouri Ohio Kansas Michigan and four dairies in Wisconsin also. Maybe you can get some videos from those places Farmhand Mike 🤷🤷🤷🤷

Great video Mike! I have always wondered how the farmers know which fields are thiers and not someone elses?

Hello Mike, it would be interesting to see what goes into the maintence of that silage choper, and I don't mean the engine I mean the choping system and collection-feader system of the header, because they go much faster than a typical combine.

Great content. Be interesting to know how many cows these farms milk.

Very impressive video! What the purpose of splitting the field with silage operations? Just easier turn around for the trucks?
@farmhandmike Жыл бұрын
A lot of guys like to chop with the spout shooting to the right side of the machine. If they didn't split the fields on a big field they would spend a lot of time on the headlands. Some guys will flip the spout left to right and go back and forth but with a semi truck that a big turn to make at the end of the field in a timely manner.

A lot of tonnage to level and pack at the pile. Far cry from the old style bunkers and smaller choppers using single axle dump trucks.

Does anyone know, how the chopper market is shared in the USA (between Claas, CNH, Fendt, JD and Krone)?
@farmhandmike Жыл бұрын
If I had to guess just on what I see in my travels Claas is the most popular followed by Deere. I see more Krones than New Hollands but certain areas I see several New Hollands. Fendt forage harvesters are not in the USA as far as I know. Again I don't have market share information this is just what I see when out and about.

Go back to English class
@John-nc4bl Жыл бұрын
We spell modern English here in the 'new world' and not old English. color, no need for the 'u' - program, no need for 'me' at the end of the word and there are many more examples. FYI. English originated in Northern Germany and not little old England. On the old sod of England, children are still being taught old English. One of the attributes of progress is spending less time to do something. So eliminiating the letters 'u' , and 'me' etc means less keystrokes. Ya go that.
