Stafford has 1 pro bowl and 1 ring (not even a SB MVP)... it's a new era and every decent qb is putting up numbers that will see them in the top 10 if passing at some point so that doesnt even matter... it's about how good you are compared to the your peers in your era... Stafford was never even good enough in his era to make a single all pro team. His career ain't over but he damn sure would t make the HOF if he retired today. Would t even get any real consideration.

Why do you think Meg got all pro, made all decade team, and multiple pro bowls and not him? It's not hard to accumulate yards when you have second and top tier WRs to throw too. Stafford had more weapons than most. Maybe if he didn't throw those two picks, which should've been three if Wilson didn't drop it, may have walked away with the MVP. Stafford has an elite arm but that's about it. Too many mental lapses, and turnover prone.

Guys like Namath and Swann are in. Guys with subpar, average stats but got in because of postseason success. They were never “elite of the elite”. So, that logic is heavily flawed.

His career path is somewhat similar to Fran Tarkenton. Tarkenton was 12 years in to his career, had been traded twice, and only had two winning seasons under his belt. At that point, in his second stint with the Vikings, he helped get them to 3 superbowls. They lost all 3 but he had a tremendous final chapter of his career. I've said it before elsewhere. Stafford is in a good situation, with a good coach, good teammates, and probably has 4 or 5 years of top level football left in him. It is too early to talk HOF. That is silly and premature. He does have the opportunity to completely change his career and contribute to the change the Rams organization wants to keep going over the next half a decade. If he is part of a perennial contender over the remainder of his career, then this question will become appropriate. Not before then.

He will be in the end. Just give it at least three seasons and certainly four more seasons. His numbers in terms of wins to losses (he will have a winning record), passing yards, touchdowns, and a few more playoff wins will put him the Hall of Fame, even if he does not make the Super Bowl again. Those combined will all get him over the hump.

He was the best QB this year and will start next season in top-3 of most rankings, with Rodgers/Mahomes. In regular season, he was #3 in yds, #2 in TDs, #6 in rating. In playoffs, he was #1 in yds, #2 in TDs, and #3 in rating, and he was only QB to win SB this year. He also beat Brady twice. Name another QB who had a better overall season.

Stafford had more TD and YDS than Rodgers in reg season too. They both now have 1 SB, and Stafford has more playoffs wins over last 5 years.

So many great running backs without the victorys, is LaDainian and Barry sanders HOF players? I thinks so. Winning isn't everything. Stafford played through serious injuries, and was always a top tier qb throughout his career. A selfless, leader with a cannon arm, not a flashy guy but gets it done. that no look pass in the SB was one of the greatest throws in superbowl history.

I honestly don't know how this is even still a question, Brett Favre was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame and Staffords stats are MUCH better. Stafford has more yards, Td's and Completions and less interceptions per game than Brett Favre and Matt played for the terrible Detroit Lions while Favre played for a stacked Packers team(s)!!! No doubts about it, if Favre is a HOF'er, Stafford deserves it 30% more!!!

Stafford is part of the borderline HOF QB Tier along with guys like Philip rivers, Eli manning, and Matt Ryan. You know ken Anderson, Joe thiesman, and booker Esiason aren’t in the HOF either. They each have MVPs. I think it’s not over yet for stafford he could potentially play for 5 more years. But he would have to win a couple pro bowls and maybe another SB to really be considered

These QB/receiving numbers are super inflated the last 20 years because of the rules limiting defense. Plus let's face it, Stafford's numbers are inflated since his teams for 11 or 12 years were always passing against prevent defenses at the end of games. He has so many come from behind wins because his Lions teams were always losing. Stafford is an average QB with a nice arm. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson have rings.

MVP is a political award. Pro Bowl a fan vote. They shouldn't be metrics for HOF. The year Matt Stafford threw 5000 yds and 40 tds, something, at that time, only Drew Brees and Dan Marino ever accomplished, and, only Manning, Mahomes, Brady, and Brees again have done since. He wasn't selected for the Pro Bowl that year. That's absurd.

Stafford is the fastest to 20k yards, 30k, and 40k of all time. Of the 4 receivers to reach 1,900 yds in a season, Stafford was the trigger man for 2 of the 4: Calvin Johnson & Cooper Kupp. Who has the most come from behind wins of any QB since 2009? Matthew Stafford has the most. No QB in Detroit could make All-Pro because they were bad. Stafford is already a HOF QB and there will be no doubt about that when he retires with over 55k yards and 4-8 more playoff wins, including probably 1-2 more NFC Championships and maybe 1 more Super Bowl win and a SB MVP.
