I'm an Ecuadorean raised in the U.S. I've been here all my life . I love America. I went back to Ecuador when I was 42. I'm 53 now and I can't wait to leave the U.S. once and for all. I love America but we're too money driven. When do we enjoy life? Two weeks a year? There isn't a car in the world that can fulfill happiness. God bless America but I'm going home.

@WarrenJulieTravel4 жыл бұрын
No promises but I’ll see what I can do. My understanding is electronics and appliances actually cost 10-50% more in Ecuador. Furniture is often cheaper than the US however it can vary, and you would want to shop around to avoid getting a gringo price.

Thanks to all of you 4 for sharing your thoughts on Cuenca. By the way, how far is El Virgil from Parque Calderon ? Is it walkable ? Also to make clear the $450 was rent and the extra $150 is on gas, water, security , and “Internet and electricity” if I heard it right. The insurance for both was $250? Kindly explain.
@WarrenJulieTravel4 жыл бұрын
El Virgil is about 15 minutes from El Centro and 20 minutes to Parque Calderon. The $150 is like HOA pays for security, gas, and water. Not internet or electric, they gave their price breakdown on those in the video, off memory 25-30 for electric and $40 for internet. They have higher cost insurance for their higher coverage, Julie and I pay $68 combined a month. You can see our budget in our recent $2,400 budget video. Thanks for watching 😁

My biggest fear is the elevation. I live at nearly sea level, and this town sounds wonderful, but I imagine that some people would struggle with altitude sickness. I get nauseous when I visit Denver and it is only 5280 feet above sea level. I wonder if they had any issues when they relocated from Texas ?

They went the wrong way moving items to Ecuador. I shipped furniture from New York to Austria. I called international shippers that not only packed, but inventoried/shipping list, customs paperwork and insured the items. When the items arrived they un packed it, inventoried, took back the large plywood packing boxes and filed claims for the lost and/or damged goods. All I did was watch.

I’m guessing they probably had different prices for different service if available. Thanks

@@teresalehtonen8499 The gray weather along the coast for 8 months, solid gray. Secondly, the trash everywhere. Third, the constant noise. While living in cities in the U.S. of over 3 million, our coastal town of 3,000 has much more noise. For example, today someone died in our town, very sad, and what the communa does to let everyone know is use the tsunami sound system to play funeral music for 12-16 hours to raise money for the family, yes how wonderful. The problem is that it is so loud one cannot hear their own computer or TV over it....for 12-16 hours. They also use it to fund raise, make announcements, sell stuff etc so easily half the days of the month you can forget any peace. The other noise is kids and dogs, way to many to count. The price is right for us on a budget and that is the biggie pro. Suerte!
