I first heard his music on a British variety show in 2000, when Life'll Kill Ya was released. But I forgot about his music until someone started repeatedly playing Werewolves every time he frequented the pub. THEN I acquired an IPod with Mr Bad Example, Learning To Flinch and The Wind uploaded onto it in 2007. I got into a conversation about him with someone and mentioned that I thought he'd be an interesting character to have a conversation with upon which I was informed he'd died

This hits home. my marriage was failing and I hadn't admitted it to myself, then Warren died and it gave me permission to cry, I was crying for him and the loss and I was crying for me. Such passion in the song and so much mutual respect shown for each other by 2 legends of the musical world! Warren being very respectful of allowing Neil enough space and stage presence in the early stages of the song and then to see them toward the end , heads so close together and then Neil's hand on Warrens shoulder (playing the harmonica and still forming chords) and then Warrens smile and Neil's wave of deep respect at the end. This song has always been one of my absolute favourites but this performance brought me to tears. Bless you Warren. I will never ever forget your concert at the Long Gallery in Hobart Tasmania nor will anyone else who was there. A GOD...that's what Warren Zevon IS. I say "IS" because true Gods and Legends NEVER die. He is a God of Music, a God of Words...a God onstage...the only God I'LL ever worship, and there I am content. SPARE ME, all you screaming, hair pulling Christers out there...I'm a hardcore monotheist...for the illiterate among you, it means "believer in one god" , and that God, for ME, anyway, is Mr. Bad Example. All the threats of hellfire and such mean less than nothing to me. Warren is MY God...I figure, like George Carlin praying to Joe Pesci, I stand about the same chance of WARREN answering my prayers as I would going down on my hunkers to Jesus. And Warren's WAY more interesting. Rock the Hereafter, you Renegade, you! I miss you so much!!!!!!!

The respect Neil must have for Warren. Usally Neil is the boss, lead man, front man no mattet who he is playing with, even if that person is a bettet singer or guitar player, it seems unlikely that you can get a word in fast enough before Neil does what he wants but you can see Warren subtly say some to Neil and then Neil backed of the harmonica and took no offense.
