I absolutely adore the artstyle and animation in this. They literally brought Conan the Barbarian to life! Of course it had to be the one that was never released outside Japan.

I'm a big fan of Capcom's D&D arcade games, but this predates those by a couple of years and has, in my eyes, even better visuals! I really was so impressed by this game.

This game would have blown my mind as a kid. If I walked into the arcade and saw the dragon sequence in a dual monitor my jaw would have dropped to the floor. Some how I’ve never seen this until now. Even today I’d say this is one of the best looking games I’ve ever scene.

2 or 3 standard res crt and a mirror to blend it all into one seamless picture...that cab is monstrously large and heavy, just like the Darius deluxe sitdown. It's also somewhat rare.

I didn't know Rastan Saga have sequels?! Only played the first one on SEGA Genesis and i really lke it. This one looks great too especially the artsyle and animation. I wish SE, since they owned Taito, released an HD collection for Rastan 1-3. Great playthrough btw 👍

So much better than the second Rastan game in virtually every way (I personally think Rastan Saga II had better music, but that's the only good thing about that game). Such a shame that this third game never got released outside of Japan in any capacity. Taito were probably worried that it would be as poorly-received as the second game. I find it funny how the final boss is the only villain in the game who doesn't speak German.

Rastan 2 was such a terrible, embarrassing sequel but Warrior Blade really makes up for it. Great artstyle, graphics, and fighting moves. And it had co-op. Only downside was it was a little too easy. It also had a weird mixture of enemies, like knights and monsters fighting together against you. Still it was an awesome game.

Well, it's cool to see that Warrior Blade honors the Holy Trinity - the Joe Average, the Speeder and the Brick - of all those side-scrolling beat-em-ups from the 1990's. Final Fight and Golden Axe started it, then we had Streets of Rage, Knights of the Round, Alien Storm, Violent Storm, Pit Fighter (which didn't scroll much), The Ninja Warriors for the SNES, that crappy Burning Fight rip-off that SNK churned out...Cadillacs and Dinosaurs had _two_ Joes, so did Vendetta, Alien vs Predator had a Slightly Speedy Joe and a Slightly Bricky Joe, Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom had _two_ Bricks, Streets of Rage 2 threw out _their_ Brick (Adam) and replaced him with an Extreme Brick (Max) while one-upping the Speeder (Blaze) with a new Extreme Speeder (Skate/Sammy)... So many Joes, Bricks and Speeders.... But it looks like Rastan gets to be the Brick this time around, so good on him! I like playing the Bricks. Here's lookin' at you, Sir Percival from 'Knights of the Round'! 😁

Rastan 3 was a great end to the trilogy of games. Saw it in the arcades perhaps once or twice, but after 1993 it vanished totally due to the industry waning. It was so quirky listening to the German being spoken in the background.

The original hardware is based around a custom, dual monitor set-up, which is probably why MAME is displaying a bar down the centre of the screen. Check in the options?
