Pure damage used to work, back before the Fury, Quickness and Might generated by the axes (all offensive boons that helped bolster afore-mentioned damage) were reduced to basically 0. And before axe 5 was steadily, incrementally dumpstered via a seemingly innocuous but actually meaningful longer and longer cd. | Side-note: If you ever get around to doing a video on it and want a (in)complete list of Gunsaber's Inconsistencies/Bugs hit me up. I think I'm up to about a 3/4ths of a page and I gotchu. 😄

I'd be happy to collaborate, unfortunatly that's not going to happen any time soon, as due to unforseen circumstances my scheadule tightened reacently more than I've expected, and I had to put some projects on backburner already. For now I'm just trying to keep channel from dying, and that unfortunatly caused noticable drop in quality already, but I'll certainly notify you if I manage to get ahead off scheadule.

Add daze to Throw Axe Add gap closer to Dual Axe

yeah they need to add projectile deflect to wars axe whirl and maybe even add a clense to the axe charge that removes slowing effects like chill and rooting but leave its short distance and slow animation as it to compensate then up the stacks of might to 5 on the other skill, a lot of wars kit are just lacking very small buffs to be more competative and comparable to other classes

And dual axes are great for PvE. I also enjoy how this reflects how axes kind of work in reality, being extremely dangerous and high impact but having little defense, most often seen paired with a (usually nordic style round) shield. But honestly I actually want to try Sword/Axe now. Looks decent. Gap closer, low hp high damage finisher combined with movement high damage spin2win and axe 4.

Crazy that just getting a handful of axe skills from GW1 and putting them all in one weapon didn't keep up with the current game design. Who could of seen that coming? If they want to be lazy, Anet could swap eviscerate and dual strike, and have dual strike increase quickness duration with aderline level. A leap on off hand axe would make it work a lot better with main hand mace, too

honestly, give Axe a decent leap similar to Revenants Axe 4, and as another comment suggested, put a brief daze on throw axe. then again, I am a filthy herald and harbinger main, who only uses Warrior occasionally in casual matches, so shit do i know

I would also say they need some updates, considering how old those weapons are. However I see no issue in having dedicated pure damage weapons. Not every weapon should be good in every mode, usable at least but different weapons be good in different activities isnt a issue imo.

Axes being pure damage weapons wouldn't be an issue if warrior wasn't so starved for utility. We don't have a way to port directly on top of a foe nor we have on demand invoul, invis or other bullshit. All we have is the power of leg day to get us in position from which we can deal damage, and we have to get there with hp high enough to still have a chance at winning a 1v1. Of course that's only an issue if your opponents are good at the game, but that's completly different bowl of turds. As i said in video outsourcing mobility, lockdown or defenses isn't a complete dealbreaker. Its the case where you have to outsource all three when cost starts to overshadow the benefit. I am aware that I am overly critical in my videos, and that most downsides of weapons can be overcome with sheer skill, but I also make sure to get that trough to the audience, and I'm certain my final conclusion of "just don't dual wieald them" is pretty sensible for a cunt such as myself.

You kinda just have to accept that some people aren't designed to be competitive in all gamemodes. Axe is pretty good in both PVE and WvW, which is already quite decent balance wise.

If you have noticed, I'm not crying for rework, just putting the overall desighn under generall scrutony and letting it speak for itself. I Accept that warrior is a broken mess with hundrets of issues, but i won't stop complaining about it. Firstly becouse some people fin my videos entertaining, and secondly because just accepting reality and shutting up about it doesn't helop the situation either, so we might as well at least have a laugh about it.

I don't even know what to run on warrior anymore, the only build i use currently in pvp is 1 shot gun flame with dagger/warhorn - Rifle. All i do is 1 shot the enemy supports so my team can clean up, and then side cap ^. ^

​@NQQTNQQT or run cele/trailblazer vomit in wvw with a ganksquad of 5, including a support and feel like you do something. Otherwise no, warrior roaming is dead in wvw and I don't pvp anymore. Only fun I get is from spamming burstzerker in zergs to get big numbahs

And also it makes no sense to complain to people who don't care. :P Seriously speaking, I found the following build working more or less: two swords, Arms+Tactics+Strength, I don't remember the amulet (but something with equal amount of Power and Condi, since this is a hybrid build), but the Rune is of the Lynx (+25% speed is extremely useful). This one does subpar damage (15-20% of team's damage on average), but might be sufficient to duel some players, and with it you can survive and become the top healer.

Hybrid builds is something I'm memeing about almost since channel's inception, and while coverung warrior's weapons i left swords for the last s p e c i f i c a l l y becouse they're objectively best two in warrior's entire arsenal. @@captaincrapface7337 Yes, I am new and came today here by an accident. Thanks! I'll be watching your channel from now on. So independent researchers proved "2+2=4"? lol ...Basically, I am testing my builds on the Necro NPC in the PvP Mist. And you are not allowed to finish him, you have to fight till the bitter end. Which led me to the following discovery: I found only two core builds that can kill him easily. The first is Hammer/Mace+Mace stun/strike build with Def.+Disc.+Str. But this build is hard for me to use in PvP. Another one is two swords hybrid. This one has its own issues, but at least it does huge healing. But, of course, the strongest build I found was Berserk, sword+torch and also hybrid... Coincidentally, the Guardian build I use in Ranked PvP is also core-hybrid, sword+torch, which tells us something about the trends...

@@dyak0 TBH pure condi is unfortunatly stronger than hybrid, due to being waaay tankier, and often having wiggle room for extra utility. I sadly had to abandon grieving amulet for Rabid, every season so far to stay in Plat, but fortunatly you still can play Condi zerker as you would play hybrid if you're stubborn enough. Sword-Warhorn + Mace-Torch is what I've been running whenever I'm bored of playing fair XD.

I mainly play PvE after all. But after your suggestion of trying sword, the "gap closers" as you call them are very sorely missed. I main berserker, so axe doesn't even have the adrenaline leap and instead just has the wave attack. The lack of mobility really is a damn shame. The sad thing is that with some tweaks, buffs and switching of skills i feel a lot of warrior weapons can be fixed... or at least _salvaged_

I'm enthusiastic but terrible at PvP and even I know Axe is a PVE weapon. Heck, I don't even use it in open world PVE because the movement is so damn slow without having a leap.. i do Dagger/ax for rift hunting and bounties tho.

I love those complaining videos, dude 😅 Now i want axe 4 to get a leap and axe 5 should get the movement speed increase while out of combat. And don't forget the possibility to move when using hundred blades. Those things would make my warrior build so much more fun to play.

axe/axe is literally used in every PvE power build, except for spellbreaker that uses dagger/axe LOL

I'm a warrior main but I only stick to PvE for the most part. I can't speak to pvp, I run a glass cannon rifle zerker in hopes i'll catch someone off guard. For anyone new to gw2, that means i'm not very good at pvp and just hope i kill someone before I die... in PvE we never Shield, maces, and rifles. - Shields are super boring, "just a block" and "Just a CC" don't do much in pve like they do in pvp. In PvE, this isn't enough to make warrior "tanky", especially when a low armor, low hp elementalist is out-tanking warrior even when warrior has shield. - Maces actually swing slower than 2h hammer. Mace does have a block but Hammer just does everything better including DPS. - Rifles are just bad in pve. low damage, slow. The only good thing it has going for it is, it's warriors only ranged power dmg option... In PvP, the only builds I ever see the rifle in, are god-awful 1 shot builds like mine xD. There are plenty of other classes who are suffering from similar stuff. Even with their shiny new elite spec weapons. For example, Ele Staff has been garbage tier in pve for a while. I feel like it may be the same in pvp cuz I almost never see them. I'm hoping Anet's balance team goes back to the drawing board with a lot of existing weapons once they're done enough for the new weapon release coming in about 20 days...

So many warrior weapons don't work well in the current game. Melee ranger is actually better imo (at least in wvw)

I'd rather describle warrior weapons as "requiring a lot of set up" rather than just not working. You can make pretty much anything work if you build and play with enough caution. Ranger isn't straight better. Not in litteral sence of the word. He has acces to gimmicks like stealth, and trough pet system to very abnoxious CC, on top of which certain skills like [Smoke Assault], [Hunter's Call]+[One Wolf Pack], or to some extent any pet avaliable, can output significant damage withaout ever forcing ranger to put himself in risky, or disadvantageous position. Ranger isn't objectivly better, he was just desighned to have safer, less risky acces to significant offensive pressure.

@@captaincrapface7337 Yeah, what you listed is exactly why I think melee ranger is better. Add to that: better mobility, far better fury access, better prot sources, argually better condi cleanse, good access to quickness, more burst options with sword 2, 3, greatsword 2, pig maul, etc. and not having to build up a resource to burst (like adrenaline), and anything else I missed. Warrior can chain invulns through Berserker. Boon removal on Spellbreaker isn't as good as it sounds given that most builds can crap out boons just as fast as they are removed. I've mained warrior since launch and moved to ranger about 2 years ago with no regrets. Come to the ranger side, guys. We have cookies!
