I used to be one of THE BIGGEST fans of Warriors as a kid/teen. I read the first four arcs (stopped at Sign of the Moon tbh) and DotC. I've read most novellas and super editions too, as well as the guides. Nowadays, as I'm older I got into new interests and tend to focus on those things more - especially as an aspiring author these days. But it's funny because I still like Warriors, I still hear about the new storylines and characters to a point where it feels like I read them myself. A friend and I still talk about it quite often despite us having stopped reading the books themselves. I even submitted an entry for the short story competition just for the kick of it, really. I might not have the books on my shelves anymore but I still have them kept safe in storage simply because they still mean that much. I grew up reading these books, I can't simply just let go entirely lol Heck, even writing my own fanfiction years ago started me on my journey to discovering I want to be an author. Warriors has its many flaws, sure, but it also has many, many people's hearts regardless

Oh my god FINALLY I see a confirmation of what I had thought/known for ages - the vast majority of the fandom has not read all the books For me it was because I *couldnt* buy them to read them (Australia is very lacking in book variety in its smaller towns and bookstores), and I remember it would drive me insane how everyone just assumed every member of the fandom had read every book or had access to it, or at least how the most well-known members of the community had ready access to every book and didn’t give a shit about spoilers. At least, that’s how it looked to me. I see it differently now, of course Idk where I’m going with this but it’s something that has always irritated me so yeah. This is cool

Aw, thanks so much for the shoutout!!! I remember you mentioning it sparked a video idea and MAN this was a treat to watch. It nails down everything I love about this fandom -- particularly how it attracts and appeals to so many various groups of people with differing ideas of how to interpret canon or build on it with fanon. By and large, Warriors is one of the most creative and enduring fanbases I've had the pleasure to interact with. The series can be a frustratingly inconsistent experience at times, and the fandom has -- like all fandoms do -- its own problems, but the community is full of such richly creative and talented people that I can't help but love it, warts and all. Here's to another year, I can't wait to see what else you do!!!

I'm not very engaged with the Warriors fandom aside from reading fanfiction, so I had no idea people did things like make games and even fan made audiobooks. As an avid listener of audiobooks, I might have to go looking for them. Also, even though it's late, congrats on a year on KZbin. I literally just discovered your channel yesterday, watching your gender in Warrior video, and I liked it so I binged through most of your videos in a single day. Hope you keep making awesome content.

i own the first three series, which was all i read. i could not make it through the fourth apprentice and have not read past then. everything else that i know has been from heavy research in the wiki, thanks to the gods who track down everything there, and videos about it. i always try to look for people who discuss things with evidence from the books, something like that moonkitti video that went over everything breezepelt did or that video kirikerise did about frecklewish.

I only got into the fandom due to finding youtube meme vids and naturally liking cats. But these past few months have been wild as I started to read through the books during my down time at work. Regardless, I haven't had this much fun learning about a series in quite some time! Still have to get through the super editions though. Xp

I just wanted to say, congratulations. I followed you for a while, and I just started reading today Paws of Stars. And I think It's written very well, and offers a really interesting, new perspective. SPOILERS: Kudos for making Brackenfur deputy and for introducing with the founders. All and all, I think you're a great writer and I hope you continue through your writing journey.

Aww I missed your survey. It's definitely interesting to me how many people interact with the series in different ways. I mainly read the books and watch theory videos, but I do enjoy the occasional fanfic, like yours. Also if anyone wants to buy the books for themselves, but are worried about how expensive they are I highly recommend Thriftbooks. Each book is like $4-5 as long as it isn't new, but they are all used so you have to wait until someone sells it or donates it for a book to be in stock. It took me a few years, but I have every main series book and super edition except the newest series because those haven't gone down in price yet.

This reminded me that me and my classmate created huge crossover AU between Warriors and MDZS just to give Brokenstar a happy ending. And we did it just because I love Brokenstar with all of my heart... even though he is an awful person.

This was an incredible video, and it’s really interesting to see how the fandom affects people and the books themselves. I’m somewhat surprised by how many people had never read the books. Great analysis! Also, congrats on 1 year!

Loving Paws of Stars so far! The new characters in the Dark Forest make things interesting, especially Ebonystar! I'd love to see more of her as the story goes on. If you were to ask me which side I'm on, I'd say both. I love theorizing about the canon material, but also love seeing and creating fanmade material.

I can’t believe I missed the premiere! Good video though. I can agree on falling on both sides of the fandom. I am writing a fan fiction using the clan ideas (far in the future) love drawing about it, and am part of a warrior discussion threat that analyzes the books.

Super late comment but just wanted to say, as someone who's been hesitant to go back to reading these books from my childhood for years, mostly cause of fear of not liking them as much, this video gave me the courage to pick one up again. Came over to your channel after watching aone moonkitti analysis and I love your literary analysis in general! Thank you from one fan to another!

I didn't read the books or even know it existed till a friend in middle or high school was talking about it. At first wasn't interested because she said it was for kids but had death. Then my library had a bunch on audio books and were just as Ling as my shift at work so started to listen to stay awake and enjoyed it. Someday I hope to read the books to and with my future kids along with Wings of Fire.

I didn't know there were people that hadn't read at least part of the series that considered themselves fans. I found Warriors in 3rd grade, when I was 8. I can't tell you how much I delved into the canon books and binge read them. I've even binge read them multiples times as adults, and plan to many many more times in my future. I even want to buy the new books, despite owning almost half of the series already, because of the new cover arts. I really want to delve into the creative side of the Warriors fandom more, but I'm not sure where to start. Thanks for sharing these enlightening statistics and your thoughts!

If anyone wants to know more about what is discussed in this video. The book Nationalism and Culture by Rudolf Rocker goes in a lot more detail than this video. You can find a free version of the whole text on the Anarchist Library which is a digital library of a whole bunch of text, and a free mostly complete audio book here on KZbin.

This made me realize that the reason I like AVOS so much compare to most of the fanbase is probably because I approched them with a partly creative instead of an entirely analytical mindset. I made inferences based on very little evidences sometimes to fit characters and plotlines into something that I like. I think the reason I did that is because this arc quite often tells rather than shows things to happen. So, the writer's team questionnable skill can't ruin cool ideas in execution, because often the cool ideas aren't executed at all lol.

I'm using the gap between books to catch up on arcs that I missed and DoTC the first battle is an excruciating reread because I hate Clear Sky so much and am reminded why I didn't finish the arc when it came out. Also Bumble and Turtle Tail deserved better!

I read every book that was released up to The first book of the fifth series. I’m sad to say the first book of that, at the time new story, didn’t hook me. I lost hope and was sad that the story was continuing past the forth arc since it felt like a permanent ending to the main series, so seeing familiar faces get shoved to the side and characters getting ruined by details in a super edition that I have not read was depressing. I felt while the Super editions were a great addition, they were ruined when it almost became mandatory to read them to understand certain details in the main series. Like Breezepelt’s character change from a possible future villain to suddenly being “uwu I was simply miss understood and regret my actions” when Dovewing’s book made it clear how much he did not regret his actions. I loved how they tied Skyclan into the main storyline, but I hated how pointless the first book of that series felt! Sorry spoiler right now but I’m sure most fans know this already. Like, Sandstorm dies before they even reach the gorge! Why?!!! It would have made sense to me if she made it to the gorge at the minimum or maybe have her die in between the two arcs and have Alder learn how Skyclan was formed alongside the readers who had not read Firestar’s Quest as he journeyed there alongside his traveling companions, preferably with members of each clan so that stupid argument wouldn’t have happened at the gathering! Uuuugh sorry went on a bit of a tangent. After this anything I learned of the later series was from the fandom, but none the less I always felt the super editions and novellas should have been optional to read! Something to read when you want more details on a character or a event. While Firestar, Bluestar, Crookedstar, and Tallstar’s books were by no means perfect, I loved how the developed details we knew or didn’t know about them! I loved Tallstar’s gayness with Jake! I loved seeing the specifics of how Bluestar became who she was! Crookedstar was not necessary but it gave character depth to a character with such a unique and striking name and look! We don’t talk about Yellowfang’s book. It would have been great if not for her “power” that defies main story cannon in so many ways. But what all these stories have in common is that they were not necessary to read! Firestar’s Quest now is kind of mandatory because of the fifth arc and that makes me sad. The Super Editions should have been the whip cream on the series top, not the eggs to make the cake. That’s the best analogy I could make and thanks to whoever read all of this ramble.

“Poor quality of many of the stories” The stories and arcs are all good and even if there are some flaws here and there that doesn’t take away from their enjoyment (And since you used them as examples, the new prophecies and a vision of shadows were both good) Also mistakes happen and character “discrepancies” and don’t ruin the enjoyment of the books, at least not for me Plus I’d argue some mistakes and discrepancies are debatable if they are issues or there or not and I think is fun to find solutions in the universe/books (And that applies to all books including (since you used them as examples) crowfeather’s trial and one of the stars) I do think the two sides of the fandom is an interesting idea that I hadn’t thought of
