Me 262: Aircraft of the New Era

World War 2 pushed piston engine aircraft to their absolute limit, with engineers all around the world coming up with ingenious solutions to make them better in every conceivable way. By the end of the war, though, piston planes ran into a wall they couldn’t break through: at that point, laws of physics prevented them from being optimized any further. In order to get better results, you needed aircraft of a completely new type. That’s right: today we’re talking about the ways you can get the most out of the first ever operational jets of the Messerschmitt 262 family!

Whoever wrote this script needs to be fired. I have never once flown the normal (non tank buster) ME-262 that was not up against korean / cold war era jets. The battle ratings of vehicles in this game are arbitrary and clearly favor premiums. This is especially egregious in the German air tree around 7-9.3.

In Warthunder (RB), the Me 262 mostly faces Post War Jet designs which heavily outclass it due itself having lackluster performance ingame. Its to slow, accelerates too slow, cant maneuver...

The "Spitfighter F Mk24" is the ONLY piston aircraft at 7.0+. There are 22 Jets at 8.0 that the Me 262 often gets uptiered in. THIS IS NOT FAIR MATCHMAKING.

This one is a fighter/bomber hunter and is very optiered in most matches. The A-1 is a ww2 plane going against Post war and korean war jets. Thats not fair would you not agree?

Ah the Me 262, impressive in WWII but still possible to fight, sees Korean and Vietnam era jets in War Thunder. It's like the Sabers and MiG-15s, they were super fun when introduced, but Gaijin doesn't care about them, while ironically instructing their social media department to make videos on them. Why not have weekly events where you can fly them and be rewarded while having fun, or fix the matchmaker and make large enough gaps in the BRs so they don't face impossible odds?

I love the ease of use of the A1/U1, with it’s different cannon ballistics, but the A1a’s rockets are particularly useful in Arcade 9.3 paired with the Switz Hunter, so I can flare missiles AND outturn all the jets, yet still are faster than an A-10, though for them, I reserve them the Bf 110 G2 treatment, y’know, easy money

The 262 family is a *BASED* plane, only prob is that for the best one you go on 8.0 and basically always up tiered to 9.0 that have far more capable jet than that, if you guys put a virtual limit on the era of vehicle did you encounter instead of br like 1944 to 1946 along br in that case i would use it, but otherwise no chance (i have 262 a1 and the c1 and don't even using that 😂)

First this rocket booster Me262 were never build , instead you should add the HG1 and HG2 . Wich were tested at the end of WW2 , also the Coelian wooden mockup had the twin 55mm (Gerät58) guns . And not the 37mm , they were planned but later thrown away .

The C-1 and C-2 were both built as single prototypes. Of the high-speed 262s, only the HG I was built.

At most it had a test flight planned, but that doesn't mean it was finished, and I've also never seen anyone provide a primary-source document for that, just a random unsourced scan from a book which is quite poorly translated. Even then, the book never claims it was fully completed, just that it was damaged sometime between being ready for assembly and being test flown, and then abandoned.

The A-1 is pretty hopeless when stock, but once you unlock more of the modifications you can find some success. If you skirt around and avoid attacking enemies on equal footing, there’s still usually enough opportunities to get a few kills every match. That’s kinda the optimal strategy with most planes anyway.
