"Number of blades on a single engine" I think they meant on a single propeller(?) because there's plane like Wyvern that has 8 (4 + 4 counter rotating) blades "One of the fastest" If only it can reach its top speed, which is almost impossible "Rare canard" Well that one is true, not like it is the ONLY one cos there's XP-55 in US Premium Shinden is a pure suffering. But maybe i'll try playing it again

​​@@astronautdyno3120 1 - That it's one of the fastest (you even pointed it out so it doesn't need to be explained). 2 - That it's one of the fastest *because* of the 6 bladed propeller (more blades is worse for top speed, the japanese planned to replace the 6 blades with just 4 in production planes). This one is a bit picky I suppose, but the speed the J7W1 does have is due to basically everything except the number of blades. 3 - That it has the highest number of blades on a single engine in the game (someone has already explained it, there's both the Wyvern and the S.O.8000 with 8 total).

The claim that German jet engines went on to be the foundation isnt true though, British engines were generally better and more powerful and would be the staple for both the West and East (the famous "dont use this british jet engine for war planes" incident with the USSR for example)

Yes. Most early jet fighters of that time especially America's used British or license-built British jet engines. Clearly obvious that Germany's designs weren't the foundation at all.

They’re talking about axial-flow vs centrifugal-flow turbojets. But yeah the British were still the best with axial flow early on too with the Avon going into service with the Canberra in 1951

The Germans had the first axial flow turbojet in a operational jet fighter , so they were the foundation . The British Derwent centrifugal turbojet was not better , easier to build but bigger with less thrust compared to an axial flow . The first Gloster meteor was barely faster than a prop , later they catched up but Germany was out of the race . It was 1945 .......

@@5co756 So the Nene engine was... what exactly? Because it sounds to me like you are trying to claim the engines in the 40s and 50s were all developed from the Germans, when they were not. Also, Germans didnt make the concept of the axial flow jet either, not to forget the US was also making those engines during the war... lol. They were just the first to put it in a combat plane which is a "congrats", but its a bit much to claim that means all jet engines come from them lol.
