I dont work in care, but I want to. I think the environment inside the care home is so important, they seem to absolutely love it. I hope one day I can add to that environment. This made me so happy 😊

Not all nursing homes are bad! You have to do your homework and go on the homes website and see if they have been done for neglect! Its that simple im 40 and my health is getting worse as i have Fibromyalgia and CRPS which is chronic Regional pain disorder in my ankles and my back and muscles cramp and burn and my stomach does the same, so i may be heading for day care myself! Xx

Thats true not all places are bad I've heard of some really nice ones in my area. I want to work in care and plan to add as much positivity as possible it's important for the wonderful people staying there but also the people working there. ❤ I hope things improve for you btw.

I have worked in care housing for older folks . It's very hard physically but mentally also . You can only do so much. And want to give more I'd cry at times when I went home .

Go see the home if it smells like urine turn around and walk out. The chemicals, if used right should counter that. If you smell urine, it's not getting cleaned properly, I was a housekeeper for 8yrs. In a nursing home.

I’ve worked in care homes and on the community but I would absolutely hate communal living! I’d probably just stay in my room all the time. The thought fills me with dread. But who knows what the future holds.

My brother says if you put somebody in a nursing home, who have to check to make sure they are giving your loved one baths, cause minimum wage workers, don't really want to do the nasty work. He says all the old people there get really excited about bringing in children, and the old people don't care about you. They just want to do everything for a young child.

Hello, I am from Algeria, I am 27 years old. A graduate of the University of Algiers, he obtained a Master's degree 02 in General Philosophy. But I like the profession of a patient's assistant or a patient's companion or caring for the infirm. I have 6 years experience in this field. Among the services that I provide are (personal hygiene. Meals I prepare myself. I provide medicine on time. Provide sports classes. Physical rehabilitation is able to do so) What is the way to immigrate? Engaging in nursing homes. Or work in hospitals. Even homes.

Claims of hundreds/thousands of pounds in care home fees bear no semblance to reality as only a minority (probably less than 5%-10% get those kinds of fees). Others can't charge more than the local Travelodge (plus need to offer food, care, laundry and more 24/7). Check out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/amWzgYClh6qImNU

If your parent is alone in the house and you are at work, don't you think it is dangerous to be alone. What happened if he fell down at home and become unconscious. That's what happened to a friend of mine and so his family had to sent him to nursing home but they paid for his stay. Good nursing home is not too bad. It is the bad one that gets all the attention.

Why put them in there and not have someone taking care of them at home? Think about that!
@stars18364 жыл бұрын
At home, they would only have one other person to talk to. the caregiver. But at the care home, they have other people to talk and can make friends

My gran has moved to a care home cos she has dementia and can't really look after herself anymore and my dad works full time and has to support him and his mrs, my gran needs 24/7 care instead of once a week so it is better for her to be where she is now as she is being looked after and her needs are met
@solarchaotica3 жыл бұрын
Depending on illnesses they may have they may not have anyone at home who is able to take care of them properly. Like , if someone has dementia, the family may not be able to handle it And it does depend on the place they go, some places are better than others.
