I’m not gonna lie, when I first read it I did think it was bad. I was pissed off too lmao. But I re read the last five chapters after I cooled off and I changed my mind. I won’t say I think it was the best but I definitely understand why it happened the way it did and why it was so sudden. Especially since it’s in Sukuna’s POV and the characters around him. So to them, it was THAT sudden 😭 that’s just how I rationalized it with myself

Gojo dying was inevitable, that's just the truth of the matter. Sukuna was never Gojo's problem to deal with, he's Yuji's, so him dying was understandable. The problem comes with HOW Gege dealt with his final moments, Gojo saying he couldn't push Sukuna to his limits, Nanami's very wrong assertion/view of Gojo as a person and saying he only cared about fighting strong opponents, and he didn't care about people or his students when that was the biggest lie in the series. Remember that Gojo has always loved and cared for his students, he wanted them to enjoy their youth and not be burdened by the weight of being sorcerers. Yes, Gojo wanted strong students so he wouldn't feel alone anymore, the burden that comes with being the strongest means walking a lonely road, but even still, Gojo was still the type of person who, in the grand scheme of things, would have given his life if it meant his students wouldn't have to be jujutsu sorcerers. The fact Gojo or GETO didn't refute Nanami on his point just felt like it Gege was trying to make Nanami seem like he wasn't lying. I don't even wanna mention the glazing that Gojo gave Sukuna because that honestly is just so bad cause Gojo is the last person who would praise someone, infact it makes him dying worse cause it seemed like Gojo died without regrets when he left his adoptive son trapped in the body of the man who killed him, he left his students to deal with 2 people who are way to dangerous for them to handle and he never got a chance to console and talk to Yuji about all the trauma he experienced just to get him out the prison relm. I won't judge you or anyone who likes the conclusion of the fight, but it really feels like Gege really dropped the ball on this one.

(10 hour yap session comming btw) the thing is we know that sukuna cant just use the slash whenever he wants/ instantly even if he could gojo would know he would use an attack. gojo knows sukuna wasnt using his full moveset as itadori wouldve seen the fire there would be no reason for gojo to stay still as he said he knew sukuna was holding back the entire time. if you know your fighting someone who is way stronger than you and is badly injured are you going to try and dodge the attack or trust your technique against the unknown technique. the adaptation wasnt just a counter to infinity it was a power boost for sukuna's slashes. if it was just a counter to infinity gojo wouldnt have died in one shot as its presumed as while gojo was getting cut in the domain without setting up any defenses gojo was tanking slashes. unless sukkuna stacked a whole lotta slashes gojo wouldnt have died in an instant if each dimension slash was the same as the ones in his domain. it couldve been clarrified that mahoraga made his technique objectively better and it couldve been shown sukuna making a binging vow to insta shoot the slash. alot couldve been shown and the ending wouldve been wayyyyy better. so far the slash makes sense gojo being hit/dying by the slash doesnt. (remember this is a gojo who is way stronger than normal just cant use domain expansion) or alternatively sukuna couldve went into his heian era form and kill gojo with de. his origional form had infinite potentiol as a plot device but it was used on fricking kashimo. tldr; the slash makes sense how it hit/killed doesnt. it didnt negatively affect the plot and its obvious if gojo won the plot still would be good. it would be worse but good

If Gojo won how could the ending have been satisfying? because it seems to me what would’ve happened is he would’ve just went over to kenjaku, and killed him easily and then there’s no more antagonist the merger is stopped and everyone else lives happily ever after. The entire story would probably be done by now, yuji would never have closure, hakari would never fulfill his promise to kashimo, takaba would never get his chance to shine, Would never find out whats with yujis backstory, would never see his curse Technique, Etc.

Yes it was bad. SImple as. Killing Gojo wasn't the issue. There were a lot of ways it could've been executed well and that Sukuna winning that fight could've made sense, but Gege chose basically the cheapest, laziest way for shock value and little else.

I only have 3 problems. Gojo glazing someone who stole his adopted sons body is just insanity, the disrespect on Gojos name in the afterlife was also crazy and lastly the power scaling is just too high I mean if the cast would have ganged up on Gojo there would have been a small chance of them winning now we're supposed to fight someone who's way stronger? It's a weird structure for a manga, I've read atleast some 80 mangas and around 30 of them are shonen, even for me it's as plain as day. Long time manga readers would have noticed this way ahead of me. You would see that in any shonen manga.

I think if Gege had Sukuna incarnated his Heian form and then cut the space with Mahoraga's model, it would have been easily understood. But in the manga it's a dying Sukuna that was about to die that killed Gojo. But then Sukuna fully incarnates against Pikachu evolving into Raichu. The pay-off for Sukuna's incarnation felt out of place. Moreover, it doesn't make sense that Gojo didn't feel Sukuna's dismantle with the 6 eyes. For me, the more entertaining sequences of event is: Purple Hollow, Gojo's about to win, Sukuna's about to die, he fully incarnates himself, use black flash on Gojo, then Sukuna understands Mahoraga's model to bypass infinity and then kill Gojo. Sukuna then recognizes that Gojo is the strongest he has ever faced. And in the afterlife, Gojo, instead of using the glizzy 9000 on Sukuna, could have said that he was so close of winning, but he had fun and he gave his best. Finally, he says that his students got it from here, or something like this. This makes more sense to me, has better pay-off both for Gojo and Sukuna and doesn't alter what Gege wanted to do. Major problem is that with this version, the fandom wouldn't go insane as much and we wouldn't get lobotomy kaisen.

The shibuya incident showed us that without Gojo the protagonists are too weak to do anything and cant handle threats like Kenjaku. And the culling games arc was the aftermath and how things are bad without Gojo. So having Gojo beat Kenjaku and Sukuna then have the day is saved would've been pretty anti climatic. And in the end we had to rely on Gojo again to beat the big bad

Nobody is mad that gojo died except his stans. The issue is how it was done. First, and a nitpick, bringing gojo back after years of him being gone just to be a sacrificial lamb is cruel. He was a beloved character and having him come back just to appease everyone by giving the fight they want and also so gege can have an excuse to kill someone he hates writing is trash. Second, and the real issue, the way it was done. It’s stated in chapter 235 how fucked Sukuna is, he can’t open his domain, he can’t use rct, he basically can’t defend himself. Then, somehow, he’s able to do anything attack that cuts existence itself. You’re telling me a reality cutting technique takes less cursed energy than rct? A technique that he’s never done before? Sure. Not only that, but the airport scene is a bigger character assassination than season 8 of GOT. He starts glazing Sukuna, talking about how strong he is and how lonely he must be. My brother in Christ, he’s going around killing people for fun and he possessed the body of your adopted son. And not only that, gege has the audacity to make Nanami say that gojo only used sorcery for his own pleasure. Oh my god I don’t even need to talk about how bad that line is. Why would Gojo save Yuji or Yuta? Why would he limit himself in Shibuya vs the disaster curses. Not because he has compassion for those who can’t protect themselves, nah he wants them to live so they can get to his strength and give him a good fight. Complete nonsense. I haven’t even mentioned the issue that happens with Sukuna winning. If the strongest sorcerer of 2 different eras can’t beat him, and apparently when he wasn’t even giving his all according to the fraud gojo at the airport, what chance do these bums have? Yuji doesn’t even have a domain ffs. Not only that, he’s back in his prime form. There’s no chance to kill Sukuna in a way that makes sense. Gege wrote himself into a corner that will guarantee a bad ending. Anyways that’s it for my rambling. His death is trash.

This will go down as the WORST and more out of character DEATHS in Manga History 1- Theres no reasonable way for Sukuna to pass Infinity without 10 shadows 2- Why did Gege make Gojo say “ Sukuna didint give it all” ??? Its not impossible to dodge, if anything gojo couldve stopped it too he just didnt know it would hit him. Gojo always has his infinity up passively and it auto filters anything that hits him. Sukunas slash was not detected as something aimed at gojo and so didnt slow it down as it was not identified as a threat. Only issue for me is that we were sorta missing a chapter yeah. Gege mentions it but Im sure it's just them joking about it. But we def skipped a chapter. What led to Gojo dropping his guard? Did Sukuna chant? Etc. Cutting from one chapter that ends with Gojo having the upperhand to suddenly starting the next and l he's on the ground split in half with Sukuna narrating what happened... not the most satisfying execution.

I feel like that weird jump from 235 and 236 is kinda bad. You dont get to see anything happening but it gets an exposition dump as replacement. Show dont tell. Ik its fast but Gege can still show it. Its for the audience to see not Gojo. Ive said this myself before but it would have been cool to see a weird line that goes down the page at the end of 235 to suggest thats when the world slash was used. Like the world cut is cutting the "world" of the panels breaking the "Gojo Won" scenario. Next chapter could be the moments before the slash from Sukunas perspective, where he attempts to test his slashes. When he cast it THEN it cuts to the airport scene. To me that just feels more filled in presentation wise instead of "Omg it was so fast it felt like we skipped a chapter!"

Dismantle is way too fast still even with six eyes as shown beforehand. In 224 gojo wasn’t able to dodge it infinity saved him (he looked worried as it was thrown at him meaning he wasn’t 100% sure it wouldn’t hit him). Mahoragas world slash in 234 was too fast for gojo to react to as well. Even before this fight whenever sukuna uses dismantle it is so fast it pretty much spawns on the opponent. Kashimo is the only person who was able to dodge and he was warned.

It felt extremely anticlimactic because Gege reduced Gojo to only his character development, which would have been fine for majority of anime characters. But we know and appreciate that Gojo was also a fighting prodigy and maniac, he liked violence and love beating down his opponents while being cocky about it. That’s part of what made him an iconic character. By losing the way he did, Gege pretty much mocked Gojo’s fighting prowess, his ego, his pride… Gojo tossed all of that way just to finally accept his final character shift. The end of his loneliness. The gojo we grew fond of would never accept defeat like that, like in his fight against toji. So to see gojo go out like this is definitely… bittersweet. Gojo dying isn’t bad. If anything, he needed to be removed so the story could progress. And if you ask me there are only TWO problems with the ending Gege wrote for Gojo/The battle of the Strongests . 1. You had Sukuna successfully be able to learn how Mahoraga adapted to limitless and apply it to his own CT (cleave/dismantle). I hope I don’t need to explain to everyone why giving an already OP villain an EVEN MORE OP technique is ridiculous lol. The entire fight could go exactly the same way except towards the end, either have Gojo blow himself up entirely/partially but fatally or completely fry his brain in the process of nuking himself and Sukuna. This prevents the need of giving Sukuna an “atomic or reality cutting” cleave/dismantle to kill Gojo which in turn makes the chances of victory against him seem more plausible. An ending where the good guys lose is interesting and different but being able to see it coming is boring imo. JJK was at its absolute best when the stakes were high and you deadass didn’t know which side was going to win. No one else is left who is on par with Gojo which means Sukuna is simply playing with his food at this point. Only a matter of time before he wins or he “underestimates the MC” and loses which would then be terrible for Sukuna’s character. 2. Gojo’s final thoughts in the after life were spent more on insecurely glazing Sukuna and less on his students lol. The same students he told Ijichii that he would help raise so they can become strong like him and help him reset the Jujustsu World. Having him come across as insecure in his glazing for Sukuna is totally out of character. This is like if Sukuna dies at the end of the series and in the afterlife he says some out of character stuff like “I’ve always wanted to live a peaceful happy life and help people along the way”. Yes, it’s a moment of vulnerability granted to Gojo ONLY upon his death but even in that moment of vulnerability, Gege did not have to make Gojo come across so insecure about himself when comparing himself to Sukuna. That’s never been the Gojo we know. You could easily have him acknowledge Sukuna’s strength while still being confident in his abilities and everything he did leading up to his death. Like maybe a few lines then the rest should have been spent talking more about the regrets he has perhaps about leaving his students behind and not being able to watch them grow and become strong and eventually surpass him. I think that’s why most people have such a bitter taste in their mouth when the topic is JJK chapter 236. Thats unless you’re one of the Sukuna D*cksuckers. Not Sukuna FANS because they also care about the story and its characters and not just about whether their fave takes a W.

Gege didn’t even give kashimo a full chapter lmao, after the later used the one technique he’s been saving up his whole life.. and that got me thinking. This is very atypical of gege. He’s usually very good at keeping a pretty fair balance between the two camps. But this time, when it’s supposed to matter the most, he immediately gets rid of the protagonists’ two biggest heavy hitters in the form of gojo and awakened kashimo. He then immediately takes out kenjaku (supposedly). So supposedly you have yuuta, maki, yuuji, hakari against full power sukuna and uraume. The only way i could see any chance of winning for the protagonists would be if kenjaku had some twisted plan than he activated before ‘dying’, amongst which his supposed merger. It truly feels like the series is ending soon.

My issue is Sakuna bisected Gojo, Ce comes from the gut but RCT comes from the head. Right before Gojo was stated to have his RCT back to full due to the Black Flashes. So shouldn’t he be able to use his RCT to heal himself? His brain, heart and RCT should all still be at full and intact. We’ve seen Hikari heal entire limbs why can’t Gojo. Not to mention this need to go for the head on RCT users has since been heavily emphasized throughout the story like with Kenny’s hunt, Yutas sneak attack and now Higuruma and Sakuna again proving he’s aware of the need. Why is Gojo dead how does it make sense with what we have and have been given. I don’t think the fight was bad or the end as long as Gojo can return otherwise i think it breaks verse rules. Additionally idk how Gojo didn’t get ready for the chanting when we now know that it’s needed and he has 6 Eyes. I don’t think Cocky Gojo makes sense in this state, Gojo himself said how he knew he was weaker after and Sakuna didn’t chant the entire time whole fight that is definitely concerning. Sakuna muttering is legit dumb and bad writing. Finally Gojo got hit with the world cleave by Mahagaraga why didn’t ge notice it was difference with the 6 eyes. Like we can still enjoy the series but this is such a contentious fight.

Hakari’s regeneration is automatic and was stated to surpass Gojo and Sukuna. No one aside from Hakari has been shown to be able to regrow the entire bottom half of their body. Hell not even Hakari has done something like that though he most likely could. Gojo was assured of his victory, literally walked up to Sukuna and said the fight was over. Sukuna chanting for space dismantle is the same as Gojo chanting for reversal red. Both Gojo and Sukuna just sat there and let it happen because they believed they could take it. It’s debatable if Gojo could even perceive Sukuna’s normal dismantle let alone space dismantle. They’re both invisible, not really much of a difference to the person being cut. Six Eyes aren’t Sharingan, Gojo couldn’t even see if there were humans on the other side of Hanami’s plants in Shibuya. There’s no reason Gojo would know about space dismantle ahead of time.

It was stated that Hikari was over Gojo yes, but it doesn’t take away from the feats we’ve seen from him. Healing the brain stab from inverted spear and the slashes to his neck and entire body while fighting should be more the enough proof this is Gojo we are talking about. Gojo is genius at Jujustu but didn’t think about an attack that surpasses his infinity and it’s implications. A Gojo that doesn’t react to a Sakuna that still was surviving after the last ditch creative attacks he made is also dumb which we haven’t seen him ass at all. How he died wasn't the problem. It was the way his death was presented that I don't like. Offscreening a major characters death is foul and I'm not budging on that. This would be like off Oda offscreen'ed Shanks in a fight against Blackbeard and we don't get to see how Shanks was defeated. Also, if the world cutting slash is so simple, why did we not get to see it happen to Gojo? I'm not asking for some major clash of techniques, but unless Sukuna revealed his technique to Gojo and then used the world cutting slash and we see it later, then I have no issue. But, if Gojo's death was just completely off screened, that is unacceptable to me, I don't care if they didn't say word to each other and Sukuna just quietly cut him in half with no effort, I just need to see how.

Someone made a very small edit to the "Gojo wins" panel and it honestly fixes everything. They included a panel cut in gojo's torso so it looks like a simple panel break and nothing unusual. But due to how it looks and how pointless the panel break is, it could be seen as sukuna slicing the panel apart like how he slices the world with his new slash. Such a tiny detail could be added to fix this all.

I’m in the middle. I think it was good because of the reality that if Gojo were to continue in the story there would be no development for the rest of the cast because of the strength and ideals Gojo brought to the story already. Also, him leaving all his ideals with his students is beautiful because now the rest of the cast can defeat Sukuna, something their teacher couldn’t do because he wanted the burden to himself. Finally, Gege left the topic on who’s the strongest up for interpretation, with both Sukuna and Gojo giving each other props. He didn’t really need to drop his guard for dismantle to hit. Prior to 236 Gojo wasnt able to react to sukunas slashes either. In 224 Gojo was suprised sukuna was using dismantle, then slash just hits the building as infinity saved him (he looked worried meaning he wasnt 100% sure infinity would save him yet wasnt able to react). And mahoragas world slash was also too fast for him to react. Only thing that should be explained (and surely will be) is how did sukuna in such state launch that strong of a dismantle, speed of the attack remains same even with low cursed energy output as seen after sukuna took over megumi. As of now kashimo is only person who dodged it and he was warned.

The part of the fight where leading up to the 5th clash he had to outright pass up on multiple opportunities that could’ve resulted in serious outcomes for gojo. And the part of the fight which gojo only survived past as a result of luckily and barely getting UV off first in the 5th clash by 0.01 seconds. As a result of sukuna being delayed. Which was caused by him taking the time leading up to the clash turning off DA essentially tanking more damage than he had to. (DA was stated to massively reduce the damage of attacks, and it would’ve nullified gojo’s blue enveloped attacks) Meanwhile gojo was taking the time leading up to envelope his hands in blue and try and do as much damage as possible. And both of those things in combination led to sukuna being delayed and gojo just barely pulling off UV first by 0.01 seconds. Which caused sukuna’s brain damage preventing him from ending gojo after the 5th clash. So all in all had that portion of the fight (domain clashes) gone just a little differently sukuna would’ve won.

RCT is a different case, given that it relies on the manipulation of cursed energy, something anyone could theoretically learn. Sukuna, however, copied Mahoraga's technique, or more specifically, his adaptation. A World Slash is fundamentally different to Cleave or Dismantle, no matter how you look at it; cutting space and cutting things are two different abilities. If World Slash really is just Sukuna's CT but with its target widened (the target being space itself), then there's no reason why Sukuna, the prodigy able to learn anything on the spot, wouldn't be able to learn it by himself during the one month time skip in preparation for the fight. It most likely has something to do with Black Box (an explanation as to how exactly it works would be nice to hear, if that is the case), but we have yet to get any confirmation of this, a pretty big oversight when you are possibly making it the reason as to why the battle between the strongest was won by Sukuna.

One more point to had in regards to the 3rd question: If Gojo had won & killed Sukuna, we wouldn’t have gotten the Kashimo x Sukuna conversation both IRL & in the afterlife. Kashimo’s character arc would’ve just been left unfinished cuz remember, Kashimo’s SOLE reason for being in the modern day is to FIGHT SUKUNA & LEARN about strength, & love. When he finally got his conversation with Sukuna, we see another satisfied smile from Kashimo this time(the first one was Gojo’s smile).

The only real problem i got with Gojos death was all the hype up from the very start, picturing Gojo as the strongest one with phrases like : "It would be a lil draining but i would win" or "through the heaven and the earth, I ALONE am the honored one" etc. And then he loses and even admits that he isnt sure if he could win even without the ten shadows since Sukuna was still holding back some stuff. This didnt make much sense to me, narratively speaking. It was quiete a let down and i still feel scammed by Gege for doing it like that. Ofc it was clear as day that Gojo had to die or atleast had to be taken out in order for the story to proceed. But there where ways you can do it while still having Gojo as the strongest. Like Sukuna ONLY managing to kill him because of the ten shadows and then saying "without it, i wouldnt be able to beat you" or let Gojo win against Sukuna and then die against Kenjakus endgame monster. Orrrr let Gojo and Sukuna kill each other... many options there. But nothing of it happend. It was even quiete the opposite. Thats also why i still got some hope that Gojo comes back. The foreshadowing would be there for sure. The north/south thing. He got Tojis clothes on, wich could not only mean that he would die like Toji back then but would also come back like him. The recent "curses become stronger after death thing" and the one Zenin dude who came back as a curse after Maki beat him. But a Gojo comeback would make it also a lil bit hard for Yuji to shine as the maincharacter, so it would also be hard to implement it the right way. Anyway, lets just see what the future brings with it.

The main cast are still stuck in the same situation, sukana doesn't even seem tired despite the back to back fights. If sukana was weakened and had to use his CT or show us something to let us know he's nearing his limit, I'd be more ok with gojo's death because then, he gave his students a fighting chance. Not only should the death or grievous injury of Gojo been on screen, but there should have been permanent, physical effects from the fight on the rest of the story, like Sukuna being severely nerfed to the point of him being weak enough to be beaten by the rest of the characters would've been perfect. @@Necokeniii Gojo’s role in the story was to be the protagonist’s standard (Be it the measuring stick for power and overall influence in the jujutsu society), he’s never the MC, he’s not supposed to kill Sukuna. He did damaged Sukuna enough to force him to change into his original form when Kashimo fought him + the the 10 Shadows are gone especially Makora. And it’s been said multiple times that tagging along Gojo would just weaken him, if Yuta and the others went in there to help they’d either be swallowed whole by that hollow purple or Gojo would be forced to not used that at technique at all. Not all characters in the story has to die with an explanation, thats the message in JJK. Any moment is life or death, we’ve seen that in Shibuya. Nobara, Nanami were absolutely demolished by Mahito and Yuji/Todo haven’t even done enough to fully exorcise him and instead it was Kenjaku who had to completely take him out. I believe what you’re asking is for Gojo to have left a mark on the enemy, he did and you’re just looking at it wrong.

The only problem truly with Gojo not moving out of the way is, the very previous chapter it's said that every sorcerer without exception produces a sort of "spark" before a powerful technique, this is solidified with all the previous chapter where, for example, Megumi just doing the hand gesture for mahoraga before summoning him put every opponent at guard, now if Gojo saw the spark, you know, he has six eyes, there's no way for him not to see it, why wouldn't the fastest sorcerer in existance fucking dodge? Also, the fact that we don't know Sukuna's true Cursed Technique makes it so it doesn't have any rules, basically making it a plot devices for whatever it needs at the moment, contrary to Gojo whose techniques have been previously established, we know his rules and limitations, so we know what he can and cannot do. It wouldn't make sense if Gojo suddenly started yapping with Cursed Speech, but it "kinda makes sense" for sukuna to keep pulling this things because we don't know what he's truly capable of, and that's just a form of lazy writting, just like what happened with Madara's case. I'm not arguing if Gojo was stronger than Sukuna or viceversa, because CE is not a linear power system like Ki or Spiritual Pressure, it's more of a how compatible are your techniques and how you use them to defend and attack against other techniques, like Nen, so we don't know who was stronger. Maybe Sukuna with his two mouths four arms would have instantly win the domain clashes, who knows, but the way Gojo was killed is kinda meeeh...

I thought it was fantastic lowkey, the way Mahoraga showed Sukuna how to slash through was subtle and genius and plus they both basically break all the rules about Domains that we’ve known up to that point which is insane. I have a few issues with Gojo's death. First, don't the six eyes let gojo both read the flow of cursed energy as well as read cursed techniques? At least according to the wiki, so shouldn't he have been able to tell that the cursed energy put into Sukuna's last slash was more intense because of the chanting, even if he couldn't hear it? He also should've been able to see that the upcoming slash was different from Sukuna's normal dismantle shots. All that on top of Gojo being amped off of 4 black flashes makes it hard to believe Gojo wouldn't exercise any caution against Sukuna, King of Curses, the strongest sorcerer in history, the man with Jujutsu knowledge equal to himself and Kenjaku, the man who clearly stated that he'd remove Gojo's "scales". The same guy who said and demonstrated that he'd use Mahoraga to adapt to the Infinity. Gojo not caring about the slash would've been straight up stupidity and out of character given the strategic ability he showed during their fight. Now if Sukuna simply used some sort of binding vow to remove the chant for that 1 time then I have no problem with the slash being too fast for Gojo. As for the plot, anyone with a basic understanding of storytelling and manga knew that Gojo had to die, or at least couldn't beat Sukuna for the sake of the plot. Sukuna is Yuji's villain to kill, especially after her was robbed of killing Mahito. Next, I think if there was any previous evidence of a 10S user being able to tell the deepest intricacies of Mahoraga's adaptation, or at least Sukuna being able to do it, then Sukuna copying the world slash would have gone over much smoother. Lastly, Gojo getting killed off screen was simply a bad mistake. For a death so important to every aspect of the story and so many off it's characters we should have gotten something, anything, between "Gojo wins" and then he's just dead. If Gojo would have won we at least saw him using the attack the won the fight. Not that Gege is purely at fault given how stringent manga timeliness are and how he admitted to forgetting something, but it would have done more to save the fight in the communities eyes.

Overall Sukuna tries to grow stronger, wherever possible. I do believe it's still a bit of a contentious thing. Mahoraga had already adapted to infinity further adaptation is crazy especially when we know Sukuna's slashes are simple and easy to adapt to however Mahaorga hadn't fully and truly adapted to them. Gojo manipulates the fabric of space so cutting the space he exist in literally makes no sense what so ever it also means that when Mahaorga did Gojo should've saw and learned what happened in that instance. I believe Gojo should've won the fight the get jumped by Sukuna, Uraume, and Kenjaku but the students still couldn't intervene because Gojo is at his best alone. Sukuna is willing to save someone if it means it'll benefit him, like Megumi. Sukuna knows everything Gojo said to Yuji because Sukuna is always Listening. - Awasaka and Ogami in Ch. 96 mentions how due to Gojo being born, Gojo changed the Jujutsu World. Sukuna is inside of Yuji. - Gojo states Curse Energy and Power increases with Emotions or Negative Emotions, which was why he told Yuji to watch Movies. Sukuna is inside of Yuji. Why couldn't Sukuna put 2 and 2 together and thought Why not break Gojo and keep him alive, making a Husk of his Former Self in front of everyone else. It can perhaps increase Sukuna's Power while making the rest Hopeless cause their Hero is broken mentally. - Also, he learned how to bypass Infinity, so Gojo is no danger to him if Infinity was the only thing stopping him from even harming Gojo. I felt like it was a good ending imo. Since this chapter was from Gojo’s pov, it makes sense why his death felt sudden. Because the world cutting slash is something that you can’t really see and earlier in the fight gojo couldn’t see sukunas regular slashes the only reason he didn’t get hit was bc of his infinity. His death was okay, the biggest problem for me is gojo glazing sukuna. That moment was wasted potential with how much he could reflect on. This sukuna glazing was worse when kashimo did the exact same thing, its repetitive and just one example of wasted potential. Also i think it would have been better if sukuna landed a black flash before the sudden cut. At least give us a crumb that things change. Compare it to jogo where we clearly saw the killing move set up before the sudden death.

There’s a few things to call in to question about how gojo died while you did touch on the chant there’s other things that need to be said. We know from the kashimo fight and the latest chapters with kusakabe that sukunas world slashes require a chant or possibly a binding vow to launch. Then it’s explained about how it needs to be charged so then this calls into question sukunas condition. We see sukuna missing limbs, slowed rct, can’t use domain amplification, can’t use DE, extremely damaged and in general lowered CE amount from the whole fight. So how in his condition did he have enough strength to launch a slash that could instantly kill gojo when he was tanking his domain and instantly healing? Then the other question is shouldn’t gojo know something is wrong ? since it was established in 235 every CT has an ignition upon use which allowed sukuna to tell the difference between gojo using red and blue. There’s that on top of gojos six eyes there’s absolutely no reason sukuna should have got the attack off when gojo should have been able to see the ignition and sukuna charging up. So the only logical conclusion here is like kusakabe said in recent chapters a binding vow. That’s the only way this makes sense cause otherwise it’s bad writing there’s a very good reason that it was an offscreen death as gege legit couldn’t make this believable to people looking at small details. So Gege better explain the possible binding vow sukuna used to instantly get world slash cause right now it’s bad writing. Well that or Gojo literally let him do it like an idiot which makes zero sense considering the stakes.

He could have used Domain Amplification against the dimension cutting slahes. Because it doesn't matter the nature of the technique but the cursed energy output. And since Higuruma can match the output of dismantle so can Gojo

Because all those guys should get one shotted by Sukuna like he almost did with Ryu. @@FABDY-rn2ut There is a problem with that though. Kenjaku was able to get rid of Yuki's simple domain very easily. And, Sukuna is stronger than Kenjaku, and Kusakabe/Higuruma are weaker than Yuki. So, how does a stronger person, fail to do to a weaker person, what someone else did? We know Sukuna is more skilled than Kenjaku so it should not be a problem for him

Gojo actually saw that maharoga could do a slash that could pass infinity, so why would he think sakuna that was using maharoga to learn a way to bypass infinity wouldn't use the same slash? Also there is no way it was too fast for gojo, they were relatable to each other whole fight. 7:38

Depends. There were multiple instances where Gojo couldn’t react to Sukuna’s slashes. Not to mention even if he could see it you also have to wonder what if he thought it wouldn’t go through Infinity?

Because i don’t think gojo was fully aware of how mahoragas adaptation work and the fact it keeps evolving. First time mahoraga got adapted to infinity it was something sukuna had no way to replicate. Gojo simply didn’t notice difference in mahoragas adaptation in 232 and 234.

If this really is the end of Gojo (I have hope he'll make a comeback). Then it should have ended a different way, no way Gojo would just tank the last slash, he's supposed to be a genius no reason to take it head on. If he didn't notice it then whats the point of the six eyes if it cant even notice the build up CE, if Sukuna can recognize Gojo building up to a red then surely Gojo with the SIX EYES can do the same. After the purple Sukuna should have started going into his true form, with himself healed, that then makes it more believable that he's able to take out Gojo, if anything change it so reverting gives back use of his domain so it gives a concrete ending to the fight as there would be no way for Gojo at this point to counter, make the area of effect small so its more effective and that would have been fine. (apart from the airport character assassination) but for the end of the fight it works IMO. Gojo wins the battle but Sukuna wins the war.

I'm honestly disappointed with how Gojo's death was handled. Sidelining him throughout the Culling Games just to finally bring him back and then immediately kill him seems very rushed. If I was the author I would've brought back Gojo from the prison realm with a serious handicap (he's super old, he has no cursed energy, etc) so he would've had to fit into a more mentor-like role without seeing combat

I knew Gojo had to die for the plot to continue. However, the execution of his death is what I didn't like. It kinda came out of nowhere and there was no buildup, the death was way too sudden and it was entirely off-screen. For such a major fan favorite character to die so suddenly, only to start glazing him in the afterlife, was why think most people (including myself) were pissed, not the fact that Gojo died. I mean there still would be people upset if he died any other way but I think the amount of people that would be disappointed by the actual writing could have been a lot less had the execution been different (pun intended)

JJK story has been extremely mid to me past shibuya but that’s a story for another day. At this point I’ve only stuck around for the characters, and Gege killing off Gojo was definitely shocking but fell flat to me. The only thing I really took walking away from this was how much better Nanami send off was when he talking about the direction you turn once you go to the afterlife. He was going to choose a new life because he hated it so much but Hibara made him turn the other way to Yuji to accept it for what it was. Gege Cooked with Nanami man.

To me the way Gojo died made sense, the main critique as said in the video was at the end of chap 235 Gojo looked in good shape + even the narrator said he won but then chap 236 begins with Gojo in the afterlife, there was no buildup to his death but honestly just one panel of Gojo getting caught off guard by the slash is enough to solve the issue

Alongside your critique, another critique I have is that Gojo's head is still intact. I don't know if Gege is gonna pull out the "I healed with RCT" card again or he was too scared to turn Gojo into G/o/jo. Still, I would've preferred if Sukuna slashed Gojo's head instead or even both his head and his stomach at the same time to make it even more gruesome as well as to stop giving us even more questions as to whether Gojo would come back or not because Gege has been giving too much questions and less answers lately.

The main problem was the use of show dont tell or the reverse of it we were told gojo had won and that made sense from what we were shown then it cuts to gojo now dead saying he could not have won then after it shows sukunna who said he cut through existence this only somewhat makes sense because we were not physically show how he did it only told now imagine how much more shock we would have if we had saw the slash impact
