Crash Nitro Kart is still fun to play, but I'll always prefer CTR over it. However, that doesn't mean it should ever be forgotten because it did try to expand upon what CTR had already established. Looking forward to the CTTR revisit. It's been ages since I played through that game.

7:49 - Because it would conflict with the storyline, as Team Oxide and Team Trance are racing for Emperor Velo XXVII rather than against. Also Dingodile, Polar, Zam, and Zem are locked at the start of the game. So it wouldn't make sense to be able to play as them anyway. The player wouldn't have as much motivation to unlock them if that were the case.

Crash and Cortex are the "good" teams trying to save earth, N-Trance and Oxide are the "bad" teams trying to help Velo destroy it. It's actually a pretty common concept to have alternate story lines exploring both outcomes. It would have been really cool to see that in this game!

I never grew up playing PS1 so i missed out on CTR. Nitro Kart was so awesome to me and just seeing this video gives me huge nostalgia. Pretty excited that the new Remake has all the Tracks from it.

Some of the courses being so similar to CTR is what surprised me when it was confirmed all CNK tracks were coming back. I thought we were only getting some CNK tracks back when NF was announced based on it’s title. I’m hoping we get the CNK story as potential DLC for Nitro Fueled (if it’s not in the base game). Like you said imagine if we could play as Oxide and N Trance’s teams aswell. Would totally make it worth it.

I'm glad that he re-reviewed this. I played this game a lot as a kid. I think the best way to describe the way this game feels compared to CTR is that the karts feel a bit "Heavier" with them not jumping as high, turning as hard or boosting as fast. It sounds strange but it just feels like someone increased the gravity settings. I still enjoy this game and I hope that Been listens to the requests ti have the CNK Adventure Mode added in a possible update.

Honestly, I've always enjoyed CNK, despite the lazy rehash of some maps and sluggish controls. However said that, I do not enjoy it nearly as much as CTR obviously, but man, I'd be lying, if I said that I don't have any warm and loving nostalgia for CNK. I especially feel nostalgia for the cutscenes and the way the game looks in general, that Cortex model might be my favorite in the entire series! CNK's soundtrack is my favorite feature aside of the graphics, in fact if i remember correctly there was a promotional disc that includes different and long versions of some of them. Which a few were used on the cnk website back in the day.

Unpopular opinion: I actually prefer Tag Team Racing over Nitro Kart. I think it tried to do more than just copy CTR's gameplay, and while the characterization and gameplay changes were controversial, they did have their own unique charm to them. That said, Nitro Kart is far more traditional and arguably truer to the series' roots than Tag Team Racing, but in the end both games are decent follow-ups to CTR and the perfect gateways to Nitro-Fueled. Can't wait for June 21st!

I personally loved this game... as a kid. As an adult it’s rather ehhhh. Not necessarily good but definitely not bad. It’s got a lot of good aspects to it such as the graphics and the music. But at the same time it’s got some bad aspects like the controls and a lot of ripoffs of CTR.

In my opinion this game would have been much better if it wasn't rushed. Vicarious Visions originally planned on the bosses being playable like how you can on the GBA port and they would have had more time to polish the anti-gravity so it wasn't so broken. Revisiting this game after Nitro Fueled gave me a few surprises. First, the reserve system is actually included, but I'm not sure how it has been modified, since the game never explains the mechanics. Second, there are super boost pads and blue fire boost pads in this game, most of them in the same location as in Nitro Fueled, but it's a lot harder to mantain. I was shocked when playing Tiny Temple and see the last boost pad create a blue fire on the kart, and I believe it can be complimented with the reserve system to beat the Velo time trials

Both MK8 & Team Sonic Racing should thank CNK for aspects they both borrowed from that game such as the anti-gravity sections, while Team Sonic Racing sort of borrowed the Team aspect of CNK with that team gauge.

From what I saw in the Demo. I don't believe the Team System was reintegrated. Having said that, I was playing a Beta build that was entirely designed for multiplayer, so maybe the AI Portion will still have it in game. I didn't see the Team Mechanic on my brief time playing against the AI on Crash Cove however. (Although thats clearly not a CNK track)

Before I even start talking about CNK... boy I can't wait to see CTTR get annihilated by you. I have fond memories of both CTR and CNK, but CNK I haven't played in only God knows how long ago. Probably 8 years or so. I don't remember having problems controlling the karts, but I do remember having issues with momemtum, which was the crème de la crème in CTR. At least in CTRNF, all of the flawed mechanics of CNK are gone and the tracks where readjusted to fit the ones from CTR, though I will miss some anti-gravity sections.

Crash Nitro Kart on GBA is better, in my opinion. At least all of the bosses are playable. The game would be perfect if Pura, Zam, and Zem were playable as well. It makes no sense how Oxide doesn't really have any team members on the Game Boy Advance port.
